(Kai's POV)

I could feel myself getting warmer and warmer as we continued to fly across the sky getting closer and closer to my Golden Weapon, I can't wait to get it! I bet it's gonna be such a cool weapon! I also can't wait to return back to the City, I've missed Skylor so much! I really want to see her again, I really hope she's okay

"H-h-hey look at t-that!" Jay stuttered out as he pointed in front of us, we all looked at what he was pointing at and admired the sight

Below us we saw lava meet the ocean, two elements colliding. I looked on and saw more lava and large flames up ahead, this was definitely where my Golden Weapon was. We looked for a safe place to land the dragons and settled on right outside a giant temple

"Phew this place sure is hot" Lloyd said as he began to sweat

"Heh, I guess being a fire elemental comes in handy" I grinned

"You better hurry up in there Kai, because I am not standing out here sweating for ages!" Cole said to me

"I'll take my sweet sweet time just for you Cole" I said to Cole with a grin on my face

I looked at the temple ahead of me, there was a bridge over a molten lava river connected to the temple. The temple had nice black roofing and dragon symbols on the bottom layer, it honestly looked really great

"Alright Kai off you go, get that Golden Weapon!" Lloyd told me as he wiped some sweat off his forehead

"Guess I'll see you guys in awhile" I told the others as I made my way over the bridge, I placed my hands on the doors to the temple like all the others and stepped back. The doors of the temple creaked open slowly and I made my way inside of the temple, the old wooden doors closing behind me 

Torches lit up a path inside of the temple, ironically the whole temple was made out of wood so if one of these torches got a little too hot this temple really would be the temple of fire. I turned a corner and was greeted by a very dojo training like room, this must be where my first trial takes place

Kai Smith. Welcome to your first trial, in this trial you must prove your worth by defeating several enemies. Do make sure to use the weapons in the room to-

"Yeah yeah I know what to do!" I interrupted the First Spinjtzu Master, it's been awhile since my last battle, so I'm just itching to get back into action!

Suddenly a few armoured individuals were spawned in, I raced ahead and swung my fist right at one of their helmeted faces. Right before my fist was about to connect with their face the armoured guard swiftly grabbed my fist and decked me right in the face with his own! I stumbled back with my hand on where they hit me, I shook my head and charged at them again with a flying kick. But just like last time they easily blocked my attack and delivered a low kick right to my stomach knocking me back in pain!

I rolled on the floor holding my stomach, ugh maybe I should've listened to the First Spinjitzu Master. What did he say again? Something about weapons? I glanced around the room and saw a range of weapons hung up on the walls, I picked myself up and grabbed the first weapon I could to defend myself, I ended up grabbing a wooden bo staff. I turned around and just barely managed to block a sword attack from one of the armoured guards, I held the bo staff up keeping the sword away from me, I shoved the bo staff at the guard knocking the sword out of his hand. I quickly used this to my advantage and spun around hitting the guard right in the face with the end of the bo staff, knocking the guard unconscious

I didn't have much time to think as another guard came rushing towards me with their scythe raised and ready to attack. I only had enough time to hold the bo staff up again to block the scythe, but when I did the scythe easily cut through my bo staff and split it into two. I jumped back and threw the two pieces of the bo staff right at the guard, I grabbed a nearby katana and swung right at the guard. The guard blocked my attack with their scythe, I spun around and swung my katana at their unprotected side and knocked them out

"Now this is more my style!" I commented as I played around with my katana

The last guard lunged at me with his sword striking down at me, I easily avoided their attack and kicked them right in the back. The guard suddenly pulled out some shurikens and threw them right at me, I barely dodged them all. I wasted no time and leaped at the guard knocking them out with a quick swing of my katana

Very well done, but please do let me finish before you-

"Yeah yeah whatever, just show me the way to my next trial" I interrupted impatiently

One of the dojo walls suddenly slid to the side revealing more torches leading the way, I started to follow the torches again

The torches eventually lead me to a large dungeon like room, with many obstacles in my way

This is your second trial, an obstacle course. Be patient for you must time-

"An obstacle course? This will be easy!" I interrupted, I wasted no time and jumped ahead

Sandbags came flying at me but thanks to Sensei Wu's training I easily dodged them all and landed on my feet, razor blades shot out from the walls coming right at me, I quickly jumped over them saving my hair from certain doom. But I knew I couldn't jump over the next obstacle, which was 2 large boulders rocking from left to right. When the front one rocked to the left the back one rocked to the right, I smirked as I thought I could easily run right through the middle once the back one was at the left side and the front one was at the right

SMACK

I smacked my face right into the first boulder causing my head great pain! Ughh that was not a good idea, I sat up and rubbed my head, ugh if the others had seen that I would never hear the end of it! I stood up and decided it was in my head's best interest to not blindly run ahead like that again, so I decided to took a page out of my sister's book and actually use my brain for once. I noticed that there was a gap in between the boulders, meaning I could wait in the gap for the back one to pass

I took in a deep breath and got myself ready, I waited for the boulders to do a few swings before I rushed forward while the first boulder was on the left, I just barely made it into the gap without getting smacked by the first boulder. I let out a sigh of relief, but it wasn't over yet. I still had to get past the second boulder, just like the last one I waited for it to do a couple of swings before I rushed forwards and barely got pass the second boulder. I let out another sigh of relief as I noticed the boulders were the last obstacle

Well done master of fire, now follow the torches once more and you will be led to your final trial

For once I actually let the First Spinjitzu Master finish his sentence, torches ahead of me suddenly lit up and showed me a new path. I followed the new torches and prepared my self for my final trial, the dragon

The torches lead me up a set of stairs to what I assume was the top of the temple, a loud roar filled the air grabbing my attention. I looked at where the roar came from and saw a flame of fire ignite from the ground, miraculously the flame didn't set any of the temple on fire. The flame suddenly began to take the form of a dragon

The dragon's wings were large with a main colour of red with yellow ends, their legs were strong looking and mainly red with yellow elements on the knee area and at the bottom. The dragon had an orange belly and it's head was red with a few yellow details, the dragon's eyes were pure fire. It's tail was long with yellow going down until it reached the tip, it looked magnificent and I couldn't wait to join the "having a dragon" club

"I'm surprised a boy like you made it this far" The dragon said to me in a low voice

"What do you mean by that?" I asked the dragon offended

"A hot head like you would probably fail the second or even the first trial" The dragon replied snaking around me

That comment really made me angry

"I'm no hot head!" I snapped back at the dragon

"Oh but you are, always rushing into things and not thinking it through. Along with a short fuse it baffles me how Wu picked you to be a ninja!" The dragon growled at me

I've had it with this damn dragon! I felt pure rage fill my body, along with a sudden feeling of heat coming from my hand. Before I knew it a flame unexpectedly shot out from my hand, the dragon easily avoided the blast. I looked down at my hand in disbelief

"You fool! You're going to burn this whole temple down to the ground!" The dragon yelled at me

Oh crap what have I done?! I began to panic as I ran to the stairs, but before I could reach them a large wooden support beam came crashing down blocking the exit. Ugh where is that Golden Weapon! It's my only hope to get out of here!

"Sensei Wu should never have chosen you!" The dragon shouted at me as it dove for cover 

I felt more fire consume my hands and was about to throw it, but I stopped myself. I remembered what Sensei Wu told me back on the Bounty before it was destroyed. He told me to be patient, so I ignored the dragon and sat down with my legs crossed closing my eyes. I tried to meditate like I had seen Sensei Wu do a thousand times 

"What in the First Spinjitzu Master's name are you doing?! You got us into this mess and now you are just sitting there? Foolish boy!" The dragon roared at me, but I didn't say anything. I was too focused on meditating, trying to become patient so I wouldn't make the situation any worse

After trying to meditate for a few moments I could no longer hear the dragon, I opened my eyes and glanced around the room. The dragon had completely vanished. I looked to where the dragon used to be and a golden light took his place, I stood up and made my way over to the golden light. It was my Golden Weapon!

Good work Kai. Despite your inability to let me finish my sentences, you managed to complete all three of your trials. In the first trial you proved yourself to be a worthy ninja, and in the second trial you began to learn how to be patient and not rush into things without a plan. Finally, your last trial taught you not to be so hot headed, learning to ignore what other people say to you. You may now step forward and take your Golden Weapon, unlocking both your true potential and your elemental dragon 

I listened to the First Spinjitzu Master and reached out to my Golden Weapon. Once I grabbed it my body was consumed by flames and I shot up into the air!

I landed on the bridge outside where the temple used to be, flames exploding around me

"Woah! That was so cool!" Lloyd said to me as he and the others approached me 

"When we saw the temple burning down we got really worried about you, but I guess we really should have been worrying about the temple!" Cole chuckled 

"Well done Kai, we can now travel back to Ninjago and defeat Lord Garmadon once and for all!" 

We all summoned our elemental dragons and flew away from the burnt landscape, flying in the direction of Ninjago City

"I can't wait to see Skylor again! It's been so long and I really hope she's okay" I told the others as we approached Ninjago City 

"I'm sure Skylor is fine Kai, we've only been gone for like a month, nothing bad could have happened in that time" Nya said to me, putting me at ease 

Soon I could see the city on the horizon, but something was wrong, very wrong. Many buildings were flattened and destroyed, not a single person was roaming the streets. As we flew in closer we all gasped at the state of the city, it was completely under Lord Garmadon's rule! Many crude drawings of Lord Garmadon and snake looking creatures were scribbled onto the remains of the city. The city was absolutely destroyed! 

"This is bad, very bad" Sensei Wu said as we landed our dragons and looked around

Lord Garmadon had won 

Okay so I lied, THIS will be the final Ninja Life chapter of 2020, and with this chapter the "Pilots" have wrapped up and the Season 1/Season 2 chapters can begin.
