The Stone Army
Loose rock fell from the ceiling as members of the Constrictai tribe drilled through the earth, destroying every piece of rock in their way with the use of their incredibly strong head spikes and thick skulls, finally showing they weren't just the halfwits of the Serpentine. The rest of the snake tribes followed the Constrictai's trail of destruction with their newly elected Serpentine King leading the charge, the crown wearing Hypnobrai constantly shielding his face from the debris ahead
"Argh! Thessssse Consssstrictai sure make a messssss of thingsssss" Skales grunted as he slithered behind Skalidor and the other Constrictai, getting sick of all the dust and rocks flying into his face, not exactly how the serpent saw himself being treated as the new Serpentine King
"What were you expecting down here SSSkalesss? It wassss your idea to come down here to tunnel beneath thesssse sssurface dwellerssss to drag them down into a tomb like ourssss" The left head of Fangtom reminded the Hypnobrai leading the numerous snakes through the caves beneath Ninjago City
Skales harshly hissed at his Fangpyre general for questioning his leadership "I wassssn't expecting thisss place to be sssso full of filth, essspecially that dreaded Devourer'sss venom" The Serpentine King spoke as he trudged his way through the green liquid that covered the ground, his crown almost being ruined by a stray drop of venom from the ceiling
As Skales complained the Constrictai continued to drill away at the rocks blocking the path of the Serpentine, hoping to make a good enough dent in the earth to cause Ninjago City to sink underground. The digging was going well until the Constrictai and their general suddenly stopped in place, causing the entire Serpentine army to stop in their tracks
"SSSkalidor what are you doing?! Keep digging! I want the sssurface dwellersss to sssuffer today!"" Skales impatiently protested, shoving the Constrictai general towards the wall standing in the Serpentine's way "We can't dig any further, the rock issss indessstructible" Skalidor explained to his king who was quickly becoming angered
"What do you mean you can't dig any further?! The Conssstrictai are sssupposed to be the toughessst and ssstrongesssst of the SSSerpentine!" Skales yelled at the general of the Constrictai "The ssstone isss too tough even for usss to break through" Skalidor told the frustrated Hypnobrai
Fangtom and Acidicus slithered closer to the stone wall to inspect what was able to stop the mighty Constrictai "Thisss looksss ancient, dare I sssay even older than the SSSerpentine" Acidicus pointed out as the Venomari general studied the indestructible stone, taking note of the markings present on the wall, one of the engravings looking extremely similar to a member of the Serpentine
Skales took in the full sight of the marked wall, his hypnotic eyes focusing on what looked to be a small green button at the bottom of the strange engravings, the leader of the Serpentine moved past his subordinates and with his scaly hand pushed the button
All of the Serpentine in the tunnel backed away from the stone wall as it slowly sunk into the ground, Skales watched with glee as the obstacle was finally out of the way, but his look of satisfaction didn't last and was soon replaced with a confused look as he took in what was being hidden by the wall
The army of snakes was greeted with a massive illuminated corridor that seemed to stretch on forever, with what looked to be hundreds of warrior statues armed with swords and shields made up of stone all lined up in a battle ready formation, covering almost every inch of the tomb like room
"Finally, sssomewhere that dissgussssting venom hasssn't reached" Skales admired the cleanliness of the chamber, unaware of the venom from outside the tomb that was now beginning to flood in. As the Serpentine examined the large army of statues, the Great Devourer's venom flowed through the entire chamber like a wave of water, making contact with each and every lifeless warrior
While Skales and his generals wondered as to where they had dug into, the stone statues absorbed the Devourer's venom flowing throughout the vault, their colourless nature changing as their armour took on a black and red appearance, each and every warrior's eyes snapping open to reveal angry green eyes
The Serpentine had no time to notice the change before the Stone Warriors suddenly began to viciously attack the army of snakes "Thisss whole thing isss a trap! Attack!" Skales loudly commanded his horde of Serpentine, charging towards the marching force of the Stone Warriors with their weapons at the ready
No matter how hard the Serpentine tried to strike the Stone Warriors nothing seemed to faze the marching warriors, the weapons of the Serpentine being broken by the indestructible bodies of the living statues that easily overpowered even the strongest members of the Serpentine
Acidicus and the Venomari tried to harm the soldiers with their venom but it had no effect whatsoever on the Stone Warriors, the Hypnobrai's hypnotic powers didn't help much either, and even the Constrictai's drilling power and raw strength couldn't make a scratch on the soldiers' armour
"Our powerssss are ussselessss! Thessse warriorsss are completely indessstructible! We have to retreat!" Fangtom's left head shouted as he tried in vein to hold back a group of Stone Warriors, becoming easily overwhelmed and knocked out of the soldiers way as they continued to march toward the exit of their vault
"We will not retreat! We are the SSSerpentine! The rightful rulerssss of Ninjago and we shall continue to fight until we win!" Skales tried to motivate his troops as he whipped his long blue tail at a batch of Stone Warriors, only being able to knock down a few before being thrown to the ground, his once shiny crown shattering into pieces as the Serpentine King lay on the ground defeated
The massive army of Stone Warriors effortlessly dealt with the remaining members of the Serpentine, not once breaking their formation as the stone soldiers marched out of the room they had been waiting years to leave, the indestructible wall coming back up to seal the vault behind them
"NOOOO!!!" Skales shrieked as loudly as he could manage, desperately trying to crawl towards the exit as his scream echoed throughout the tunnel dug by the Serpentine, the sound of Skales' desperate cries being silenced by the tomb door sealing completely shut
Once again the Serpentine had been locked away, seemingly cursed to forever live beneath the world they sought to call their own
(Nya's POV)
"Uhhh that island wasn't there yesterday right?" Cole confusingly scratched the back of his head, he and the rest of us looking out from the docks outside the warehouse at what looked to be a brand new island, an island that seemed to have magically appeared overnight
"T-T-That new island l-looks t-t-terrifying" Jay stuttered in fear, his voice quivering and body slightly shaking as he looked across the water at the cloud covered landmass "Jay's right, just looking at that island makes me feel a shiver down my spine" Harumi commented, snapping a photo of the threatening new piece of land
Even though I'm a totally fearless warrior that isn't afraid to back down from anything, this strange new island sitting in the once empty Endless Sea does make me a little uneasy, but compared to seeing Kai without his hair gel this island is nothing
"I fear that Ninjago is about to face the biggest threat it has ever seen" Master Wu ominously spoke, turning his back to the chunk of land as he walked towards the open warehouse "Do you know what that island is Master?" Lloyd stepped in front of his uncle and asked the old man, a look of worry underneath his conical hat
"Unfortunately I am all too aware of that island, a place I was hoping would never be seen again" Master Wu clutched his wooden staff tightly, clearly not being a big fan of whatever this island was "I have thoroughly scanned the island, however I am getting no data on this strange new location" Zane remarked to us, for once that super smart Nindroid computer brain of his not having the answer
Master Wu is making this island sound pretty dangerous, and Zane not getting any info about it makes me want to stay as far away from that island as possible......but Lady Iron Dragon wouldn't be afraid of a lousy piece of floating rock so neither should I!
"It is for good reason you can not find information on that island Zane, not all parts of history should be remembered" Our teacher continued to speak in an ominous way "Argh the suspense is killing me! Just tell us what that island is already!" I couldn't stop myself from shouting out in frustration, taking everyone's attention away from the mysterious island as all eyes were now on me
For once in my life I actually felt somewhat embarrassed, losing my cool like my older bro "Sorry Master" I quickly apologised to Master Wu with a respectful bow, thankfully not getting any punishment for snapping at our wise mentor "I suppose you all do deserve to know what threat you may be facing" The white bearded man told us, motioning us to follow him into the large warehouse
Once everyone got settled inside our secret base, Master Wu shut the giant doors to the warehouse before joining us at the seating area, taking a cross legged position on his mediation carpet in front of us
"That island out there is known as the Dark Island" Our master finally told us the name of the mysterious island that seemed to pose a threat to Ninjago "Spooky name for a spooky looking island" My brother commented from his spot on the couch beside Skylor, his red headed girlfriend looking uncomfortable at the name
"Long ago the Dark Island was once part of Ninjago, but in order to avoid total corruption of the land my father used his power to split Ninjago into two, the Dark Island becoming the yin to Ninjago's yang" Master Wu detailed the origin of the Dark Island to us "As time marched forward the island became submerged underneath the Endless Sea, being forgotten by almost all except a select few, the island has only been recorded in a small amount of known scrolls"
With how old Mr Saunders is I wouldn't be surprised if he's one of the few people to know about the Dark Island, he probably watched it sink. "Master Wu, what was so dangerous that the First Spinjitzu Master had to split Ninjago into two?" I decided to ask our teacher, if whatever is on that island comes our way it'll be good to know what we're gonna be up against
Master Wu's face was obscured by his conical hat as he took a moment before giving us an answer "I was hoping I would never have to speak the name of my father's enemy ever again" He sighed deeply, we all looked at each other nervously, no longer sure if we actually wanted the answer "My father split Ninjago into two islands to ensure that the Ove-
At that moment the entire warehouse violently and uncontrollably shook, the intense shaking sending us all to the ground, thankfully the TV was able to keep itself steady and avoid shattering across the floor. We waited for what was probably Garmadon's newest attack to stop before picking ourselves up, I brushed some stray pieces of dust from my battle skirt as I looked over at Master Wu, seeing Lloyd helping the old man onto his feet
"Are you alright Master Wu?" Lloyd asked his uncle as we gathered around our teacher "I am fine, thank you nephew" Master Wu graciously spoke "It seems the rest of our story must be continued at another time, I have no doubt that the city is in great danger"
Like before the ground beneath us violently shook, almost making it feel like the warehouse and the ground was about to rip apart, Master Wu kept himself steady with his staff while the rest of us were able to maintain our balance just enough to not fall flat on our faces again
"What has your dad got this time Lloyd? A massive drill?" Skylor asked as she threw on her orange mask, preparing her crossbow for battle "Without his Mega Weapon I have no idea how he could cause so much damage" Lloyd responded as he secured his silver dao blade onto his back
"Well whatever new toy he's got I can't wait to smash it to pieces!" I proclaimed eagerly, cracking my knuckles and twirling my spear around, getting myself in the mood to ruin Garmadon's latest plan. Everyone grabbed their weapons and with Master Wu wishing us good luck, the eight of us hurried out of the warehouse and quickly headed for the city
It didn't take us long to see what damage Garmadon had done to the city, as soon as we landed from the rooftops we could see the streets severely destroyed with citizens running from large cracks in the ground, more and more forming as we watched the chaos unfold
"W-W-Woah, G-Garmadon sure has d-done a number on t-t-this place" Jay stuttered, helping an old woman to her feet "Alright we've all gotta stay focused, whatever my father has up his sleeve it's definitely something dangerous" Lloyd warned us as he took a look around, probably looking for his father
Before Garmadon could show up and shove his ugly face in our business we made sure to clear the area, calming down the panicked people and pointing them in the direction of somewhere safe, or at least somewhere that wasn't as ruined by these earthquakes
"You'd think Garmadon would be out here yelling our ears off by now" Kai pointed out, it was definitely a bit strange but my ears certainly weren't complaining about how quiet it was, ignoring the sounds of the ground breaking apart and the entire city going crazy of course
With another strong earthquake the roads and streets cracked open even more, swallowing a couple of cars and almost taking Harumi as well, Zane and Cole grabbing her just in time. Making sure to be careful I cautiously stepped closer to one of the large holes in the ground, looking down into what looked like utter darkness hoping to figure out what was causing the quakes
My eyes could barely see anything, only being able to make out a car or two, and something moving? Is somebody stuck down here? "Hey Zane! Give me some light down here, I think somebody's stuck!" I shouted over to the Nindroid who promptly made his way over to me, increasing the brightness of his blue eyes and directing the light into the large open fissure
With the use of Zane's bright eyes I could just about see what looked like the silhouettes of multiple people trying to claw themselves back up to the surface "Hey guys get over here! There's people down here!" I yelled over to the other Ninja who quickly joined me and Zane
All of us got ready to lend a hand to the people as they continued to climb their way out of the hole, but as they got closer something just didn't feel right with me. Unless these random civilians were also highly trained warriors they should be having a lot more trouble climbing their way out of this deep pit, from what I can see they're all moving pretty fast, tearing apart the rocky walls as they rapidly climbed closer to us. As the clambering citizens approached, my ears began to pick up the sound of strained grunts and groans from the hole, noises that I couldn't help but feel sounded wrong, almost like they weren't fully human......
My mind wasn't given much time to process as right before I was about to step away from the large pit a black hand lunged out of the hole and firmly grabbed my arm, the owner of the hand coming into full view revealing to us a terrifying warrior with yellow paint adorning their angrily growling face. I felt the warrior attempt to pull me into the hole, my body instantly switched into battle mode and with a fierce and mighty kick I sent the scowling warrior back down to the bottom of the large hole
"That didn't look like a civilian to me!" I remarked to the other Ninja, all of us jumping away from the deep chasm as more warriors that looked identical to the last one clawed themselves out of the pit, standing in front of us grunting menacingly "Woah, it's like that big Stone Warrior dude we fought had a bunch of kids" Cole commented as the smaller Stone Warriors armed themselves with what looked like black swords made of the same stone as their bodies
"Hopefully these smaller Stone Warriors will be a lot easier to deal with" Skylor spoke, firing an arrow directly at an approaching warrior, the Stone Warrior's shield blocking the pointed projectile "Let's see if these guys are made of the same indestructible stone as the big one" Lloyd stepped forward with a small amount of green energy glowing in both of his hands, he took a steady stance in front of the oncoming Stone Warriors and with his hands put together shot out a beam of green power directly at the multiple warriors
Just like before with the large Stone Warrior, the dust settled and these newer Stone Warriors looked completely untouched, not a single crack or scratch on their stone armour, Lloyd quickly dodged an attack from one of the warriors before jumping back and joining us in backing away from the approaching living statues. "With my powers being rendered useless yet again, looks like we'll have to beat these warriors just like the big one, knock em back down to where they came from!" The Green Ninja confidently decided, pointing his silver dao blade directly at the grunting Stone Warriors
"NINJAAA-GO!" The eight of us shouted in unison as we jumped into action to defend the city from the multiple Stone Warriors, I was first to make contact with one of the warriors as I leaped into the air to deliver a strong flying kick to the face of a helmeted warrior, sending the red and black soldier falling back down into one of the large holes in the street as I tried to ignore the immense pain my right foot was in. Maybe kicking a warrior made out of indestructible stone wasn't the brightest idea.....
Giving my foot a moment to recover, I watched my brother as he furiously charged at a group of warriors, wildly swinging the both of his katanas, his attacks being effortlessly blocked by the shields of the statues. It wasn't until he used his red Spinjitzu Kai was able to do something to the Stone Warriors, flinging the group of warriors across the air and back into the hole they crawled out of
Using his strength, Cole ripped a loose streetlamp out of the ground and began using it as a massive bat, swatting away a swarm of Stone Warriors, sending each and every one of them hurdling through the sky and plummeting into the same black void they came from, almost taking Zane down with them. Surprisingly it didn't take us that long to clear up the area, going from what felt like an army of warriors to now just three or four, giving us a bit of time to relax and catch our breath
Unfortunately that little moment of calm didn't get to last too long, right as we were about to celebrate our victory over the Stone Warriors, we all felt that familiar feeling of the street beneath us violently shaking, I dug my spear into the ground to keep myself steady as the trembling continued. The shaking this time felt much worse than before, so violent and extreme that I thought it was going to snap my spear into two pieces, it eventually stopped but what happened next made me wish it kept going
What looked like hundreds of Stone Warrior hands suddenly shot up from the ground, tearing up the street and causing even more fissures and holes to appear in the road, almost swallowing Cole and Skylor. It was like something ripped right out a zombie horror movie, hundreds of undead soldiers jumping out of the numerous holes and beginning to ravage the streets, with Stone Warriors approaching us from every angle, all looking extremely fierce
"Alright well I think we did a pretty good job here today, but I think this might be our cue to leave" Lloyd nervously spoke as he backed away from the onslaught of Stone Warriors, his dao blade at the ready "I don't have any problems with an early exit, anybody else?" Harumi fearfully asked the rest of us, jumping backwards to avoid the sharp end of a Stone Warrior's blade
Everybody including myself shook their heads, I couldn't believe I was actually willing to run away from a fight but even I had to admit that unless the First Spinjitzu Master himself fought with us, we had a zero percent chance of winning against the massive indestructible army currently destroying the city "My processor is informing me that now would be the most ideal time to retreat" Zane's Nindroid analysis helped me feel a little less like a coward
"Thanks to some tinkering from Nya last week I've got some special smoke arrows that can help get us out of here, creating a large cloud of smoke to confuse these warriors as we make our totally not cowardly exit" Skylor told us, taking one of my special arrows out of her quiver and getting it ready in her crossbow "Sounds like a plan to me" Cole commented, quickly using his Spinjitzu tornado to send a few warriors flying away from our group huddle
"When Skylor shoots her arrow and confuses the warriors, we all use our Spinjitzu to get out of here and head to the warehouse, got it?" Our green eyed leader firmly told us the plan, we were all in agreement and ready to get out of this horrible situation when I suddenly noticed the lack of panic from a certain member of the team. Glancing around us confirmed my suspicions, the usually frantic and terrified Blue Ninja was nowhere to be seen in our little circle "Wait, where's Jay?" I asked the other Ninja, everyone looking equally as confused as I was
I could hear an annoyed groan come from Harumi as I used my spear to fend off a warrior "Now is not the time for Jay to run off crying!" She angrily yelled, landing a strong kick on an approaching Stone Warrior. While the other Ninja tried to communicate with Jay over our coms, my eyes surveyed the area and were able to see his weapon discarded on the ground "Look! It's Jay's flail! Do you think a Stone Warrior took him?" I asked with a hint of worry, hoping that he was already hiding in the warehouse
Zane shifted his focus towards Jay's flail on the cracked ground, looking to be scanning the weapon and the surrounding area, his bright blue eyes flashing repeatedly until he turned to face us "I am able to trace Jay's footsteps, it doesn't appear he has gotten very far, I shall retrieve him while the rest of you make your way back to Master Wu" The Nindroid explained
"I don't think you should be going alone Zane, there's way too many Stone Warriors around for you to go find Jay by yourself, I'm coming too" I firmly told Zane, something in my chest pushing me to make sure that Jay was okay. The White Ninja simply gave me a nod of approval as we both got ready to race off in the direction of Jay's whereabouts "Okay Skylor, fire that arrow!" Lloyd's voice commanded the Orange Ninja, who without another word fired the special smoke arrow directly at the ground, a large cloud of smoke instantly filled the air giving us the chance to Spinjitzu away from the onslaught of indestructible soldiers
I watched my brother and the rest of the Ninja make their way onto the rooftops and begin heading for our warehouse base, while Zane and I hurried in a different direction hoping to find an unharmed Jay, I looked behind us to make sure we weren't being followed and was glad to see the Stone Warriors were left stunned by Skylor's smoke attack, I knew that arrow would come in handy! It didn't take us long until we seemingly reached the end of Jay's trail, being led into a small alleyway between a set of buildings, my pointed spear was at the ready in preparation for a Stone Warrior ambush
As Zane and I stepped into the crammed alleyway, we could both hear what sounded like heavy breathing, with the use of his eyes Zane lit up the dark passageway and allowed us to see where that heavy breathing was coming from, revealing a familiar Blue Ninja sitting on the ground leaning against a brick wall. Worried that he had gotten hurt I quickly knelt down in front of the Lightning Ninja, taking note of his rapid breathing and hand clutching his chest "Jay? Are you alright?" I worriedly asked the unresponsive Ninja, getting nothing but a blank stare in response
"My analysis is informing me that Jay may be experiencing a panic attack" Zane's voice quietly spoke to me "A panic attack?! Is he going to be okay?" I couldn't help but slightly panic myself, I've never seen someone actually have one but I've always heard they were bad news "As long as we properly calm him down Jay will be just fine, it is important to remember that we must also remain calm ourselves" Zane told me, Jay's heavy breathing seemingly getting faster
Before attempting to help Jay with his panic attack, I took a short moment to calm myself, closing my eyes and taking a few deep breaths, telling myself that everything will go fine and I won't end up making this whole situation worse. "Alright Zane you're gonna have to walk me through this whole thing, what do we do first?" I asked the White Ninja with hopes that his Nindroid mind would come in handy "I believe the first step we need to take would be to remove Jay's mask, making it easier for him to breathe" The Nindroid instructed me
I did exactly as Zane told me to, I carefully removed Jay's black and blue mask from his face, revealing his extremely tousled hair and a terrified expression that made me feel awful, taking off Jay's mask seemed to be the right step as he already looked like he has having an easier time breathing. "Now the next step is important for letting Jay know that we are here to help and support him, to achieve this the best thing to do would be to engage in physical touch, the best recommendation is to hold and gently massage his hand" Zane's voice calmly suggested from behind me
With a nod I set my sights on Jay's hand that was still tightly clutching his rapidly rising chest, to make sure I didn't upset or startle him any further I made an effort to reach out to his hand as slowly as possible, gently grabbing onto it and delicately taking it away from his chest which to my relief didn't seem to worsen his panic attack. To properly comfort Jay I slipped off one of my gloves along with very carefully removing one of Jay's before gently placing his shaking hand into mine, as soon as I felt his hand in my own I could feel both my face and chest warm up, but for Jay's sake I shook those feelings away to focus on calming him down
As Zane suggested, I began to slowly massage Jay's left hand with my own, keeping eye contact with his lost looking eyes as my thumb gently stroked the top of his hand in a circular motion. Zane and I tried our best to remain completely silent as I continued my massaging of Jay's hand, the only sound being Jay's rapid heavy breathing which thanks to my efforts seemed to be slowing down and returning to a normal pace, Jay's hand also seemed to no longer shake frantically as I held it firmly
I was relieved to see Jay's expression slowly change from stressed and overwhelmed to a more neutral look, with his blue eyes no longer having a lost appearance, returning to their normal state as it looked like Jay was coming to his senses, no longer hyperventilating and taking in his surroundings with his darting eyes. "Jay? Can you hear me?" I very quietly asked the Blue Ninja, not wanting to startle him just when he seemed to be getting settled down, it took Jay a moment to respond as he looked around confused "N-N-Nya? Zane? W-Where are w-w-we? What h-happened to those Stone W-Warriors?" He asked, seeming unaware of what happened to him
Before I got a chance to respond, Jay's eyes drifted down to his hand and I was reminded that his hand was still being held by my own, in a slightly sheepish and embarrassed manner I quickly pulled my hand back and looked away to hide what I'm sure was a slight blush on my usually confident face "Zane and I found you here in this alleyway, you were having a panic attack" I explained the situation to Jay as I stood up, offering a hand to the Blue Ninja who accepted, our bare hands once again connecting for a moment
"I-I-I had a p-panic attack?" Jay asked, a small hint of shame in his voice as he scratched the back of his ruffled hair, looking away from Zane and I. "You did indeed, however with my guidance Nya was able to calm you down before anything seriously dangerous happened" The Ice Ninja spoke to Jay, who still refused to look at the two of us
"Argh! I was d-d-doing so well!" The Blue Ninja suddenly yelled in frustration, startling both Zane and I with his unexpected outburst, the usually quiet and reserved member of the team being almost louder than my brother "I hadn't h-h-h-had an attack in m-months! I just h-h-had to ruin it!" Jay shouted, looking extremely upset with his recent panic attack as he kicked the ground angrily "I don't think having a panic attack is anything to be angry or ashamed of Jay" I tried to quell the Lightning Ninja's anger, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder, only for my hand to be roughly shaken off by Jay who instantly stopped when he looked at my surprised face
I don't think any of us have really seen Jay this upset or angry before, my eyebrows were raised high as I watched Jay's annoyed expression change to a more apologetic and ashamed look, his head now hanging low "I-I-I'm sorry N-Nya" He quietly apologised, fidgeting with his hands as he spoke solemnly "I-I just really d-d-don't like when I have a p-panic attack, they m-make me feel so.....h-helpless and useless...." Jay struggled to tell me, continuing to stare at the ground with a heavy frown
Once again I firmly placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, this time it wasn't resisted as Jay looked up to face the reassuring smile on my face "It's okay to have panic attacks Jay, you can't control that" I began speaking to the Lightning Ninja in a comforting tone, looking directly into his blue eyes "And don't you dare call yourself useless or helpless! Even when you're not with the rest of us, you still have so many fantastic skills that make you a worthwhile member of the team, you would never be helpless or useless!" I confidently told Jay who looked back at me with a dumbfounded expression, his eyes wide with what seemed to be a red shade spread across his freckled cheeks
For a brief moment Jay stood motionless in front of me, his blue eyes blinking as his mouth was slightly agape, oh geez I hope I didn't end up overwhelming him after his panic attack....
Thankfully it didn't seem that Jay was completely broken as his mouth soon closed, the surprised expression on his face being exchanged for a small smile before he opened his mouth to speak "I hate to interrupt your moment, but it appears the Stone Warriors have managed to find us" Zane's robotic voice chimed in, we all looked towards the entrance of the alleyway and saw a terrifying horde of Stone Warriors coming our way
"That's our cue to meet back with the others" I hastily said as I handed Jay back his mask, he quickly threw it back on and the three of us promptly jumped onto a nearby dumpster to leap onto the rooftops, narrowly avoiding a Stone Warrior's sword flying through the air. My fists clenched as I took one last look at the massive army of Stone Warriors terrorising the city, fighting off the urge to jump back down and defend the city from the indestructible soldiers. With a reluctant and defeated sigh I turned away from the chaos and joined Jay and Zane in making our way to the warehouse, where we could hopefully find a way to save Ninjago from these warriors
Thanks to our awesome Ninja skills, Jay, Zane and I had little trouble getting back to the warehouse unscathed, avoiding everything thrown at us from the Stone Warriors. We made sure that we weren't followed to the docks before entering our large warehouse base. As soon as the massive doors closed behind us, the other Ninja and Master Wu greeted us warmly, my older brother almost suffocating me with one of his extremely tight hugs
"O-Okay bro....I think that's enough...." I could just about say through Kai's ridiculously strong embrace, you'd have a better chance of breathing in space than breathing during one of Kai's bone crushing hugs. My spiky haired brother eventually let me go much to my relief, giving me an apologetic look as I caught my breath "Sorry about that sis" He apologised to me, looking slightly embarrassed "I know you can handle yourself, it's just that you and Zane were gone for a while so me and the others were starting to get worried"
"We were getting worried sick because a certain Ninja decided it was a good time to go and run off in the middle of a battle!" Harumi aggressively scolded Jay, stepping up to the nervous Ninja and pointing her finger directly into his chest "Care to explain what was so important that you had to leave us to fight off the Stone Warriors ourselves? Huh?" The white haired teen assertively questioned Jay, Harumi can certainly be a bit much at times.....
The other Ninja looked interested in what Jay had to say for himself, but weren't being nearly as pushy as Harumi was "You don't have to tell us if you don't want to Jay" Lloyd came in to help his best friend, pulling the stern looking Harumi away from the fidgeting Ninja. Jay anxiously looked around at everyone surrounding him, when his eyes met mine I gave him a comforting smile, to which the Blue Ninja responded with a small smile of his own
"I-I-It's okay Lloyd, this is b-b-bound to happen a-again so it's important t-t-that you all know about w-what happened...." Jay spoke up "When Zane and N-N-Nya found me, I was h-having a panic a-a-attack...." He suddenly paused, receiving many sympathetic looks from the other Ninja as he summoned the courage to continue speaking "It's been a-awhile since my l-last attack, not having o-our Golden Weapons anymore and n-n-not being able to do anything a-against those Stone Warriors j-just made me feel so p-p-powerless...." Jay admitted, his gaze fixed on the ground
"You having a panic attack doesn't make us think of you any lesser" Lloyd rested a reassuring hand on the Blue Ninja's shoulder, Jay looking up to face our blonde haired leader and his comforting smile "So what if you had a panic attack? You're still a vital member of this team, and if this ever happens again we'll all be sure to be there to help you out" Lloyd flashed Jay a toothy grin "R-Really? You guys a-a-aren't mad at all?" Jay questioned as he looked at everyone, all of us giving him supportive looks
Cole slung an arm around Jay's neck "Don't worry about it bro, these kind of things happen, no biggie" He told the Lightning Ninja before ruffling his hair playfully, getting a small chuckle out of the smiling Jay "It is good to see that you all have so much care and support for each other" Master Wu spoke with a soft smile "If we wish to stand a chance against the challenge that awaits us, sticking together and supporting one another as a team will be extremely important" Our master's tone shifted to be much more serious as he wandered over to the TV, attentively watching the Stone Warriors running rampant across many parts of Ninjago City
The rest of us followed after our wise master, hoping that maybe there was something we could do to stop the army of warriors "Umm N-Nya? C-Could I uhh speak with you f-f-for a minute please?" Jay's nervous voice stopped me in my tracks, making me turn away from the other Ninja and face the anxiously fidgeting Ninja "Sure Jay, what's up?" I asked with a slight hint of concern, hoping he wasn't about to have another panic attack
Instead of giving me a response, Jay stood in front of me with an anxious look, his eyes darting between my own and the ground, I was about to ask if he was okay but was stopped when Jay suddenly rushed forward and wrapped his arms around me, surprising me with a small hug. The two of us stayed in this silent embrace until Jay finally decided to speak up "T-Thank you for uhhhh h-helping me back there N-Nya, your w-words really meant a lot t-t-to me..." I couldn't help but feel my face become slightly flushed as Jay's quiet voice spoke directly into my ear, the feeling of his arms being wrapped around me adding to the warmth I felt swelling within me
"Oh uhh of course Jay, we're teammates after all, and teammates always look out for each other" I told Jay as we broke apart, much to my disappointment. And most importantly when will Harumi stop being so mean to Jay?! The only way to find out the answers is to continue devoting your life to this incredibly inconsistently updated book!
