(Jay's POV)

My arms clung to Nya's waist as we all flew across the great blue ocean on Zane and Cole's elemental dragons, I was so glad that we were finally off that awful island

"So where we flying to Sensei?" Cole asked Wu over the sound of his dragon's wings 

"That is up to Jay to decide" Sensei Wu said as he looked over to me 

"M-m-me?!" I said completely shocked as everyone else turned to look at me 

"Yes Jay, since we no longer have a map to the golden weapons, you must lead the way" Sensei explained to me 

"H-h-how am I supposed t-to do t-that?!" I said continuing to hold onto Nya's waist tightly 

"Remember when I first taught you how to tap into your elemental power? When that lightning bolt came down and shot off in the direction of the Nunchucks of Lightning?" Wu asked me as I recalled the events before Lord Garmadon attacked us 

"Y-yeah, and you uhhh s-s-said something about t-there being lightning inside o-of me" I said to Sensei 

"With that lightning you should be able to feel where the nunchucks are, you must close your eye and envision the location of the nunchucks" Sensei Wu explained to me making me nervous, what if I can't do it?! What if we can't stop Lord Garmadon?! 

"I-I-I-I guess I'll t-try to S-Sensei" I replied to Sensei who smiled at me in response 

I closed my eyes, took in a deep breath and let it out slowly, calming myself down. I forgot all about Lord Garmadon and failing, all that mattered were the Nunchucks of Lightning. It felt as if I was in an empty black void until I began seeing flashing images of the location of the nunchucks. It was a stormy place with floating rock and lightning shooting down from the sky, it looked extremely dangerous. The flashing images suddenly stopped as I was pulled away from the nunchucks and thrown back into the empty black void 

I opened my eyes and began gasping for air, I looked around me and saw I was still on Zane's elemental dragon still holding onto Nya. Everyone was staring at me with a confused look on their faces 

"I-I-I saw it Sensei! I saw the l-l-location of the Nunchucks of L-L-Lightning!" I shouted over to Sensei Wu 

"Point us in the direction Jay" Wu instructed me 

I did as Sensei Wu told me and pointed straight ahead to the location of the Nunchucks of Lightning

"Straight ahead!" Wu shouted out at Zane and Cole making their dragons fly faster towards the Nunchucks of Lightning 

"Jay? Jay?" I heard a voice call out to me waking me up, I opened my eyes up slowly and yawned. My head was resting on someone's shoulder, I lifted my head off their shoulder and looked at who's shoulder I had been sleeping on, a pair of aqua blue eyes met my blue eyes, it was Nya! I frantically sat up and began apologising as much as I could, Nya just giggled at my reaction 

"It's fine Jay really, you're going to need the extra sleep to get those Nunchucks of Lightning" Nya told me as she smiled at me, making my heart skip several beats 

"Woah look!" Kai shouted out pointing ahead of us, we all looked at where he was pointing and we all gasped 

What Kai was pointing at was a series of floating ruins, with clouds above it all shooting lightning down with heavy rain accompanying it. I gulped, knowing that I would have to climb up all those floating ruins to obtain the Nunchucks of Lightning, all without getting struck by lightning. Cole and Zane landed their dragons on the bottom of the floating ruins, we all climbed off the dragons and looked around at our environment. It was a very spiky environment, one wrong step and I'll be done for! 

"Yikes this place sure is dangerous" Lloyd said as he walked around the area and looked at all the ruins 

"Y-y-yeah it is, I d-d-don't think I Uh can d-do this S-Sensei" I said to Sensei nervously 

"What is stopping you Jay?" Wu asked me confused 

"E-e-everything! It's s-so high up a-and the lighting is l-loud and scary! N-not to mention all t-t-the spikes and one w-wrong step and I'm d-d-done for!" I ranted to Sensei loudly and quickly 

"So you're saying that seeing is what is stopping you?" Wu asked me with a brow raised 

"I-I-I guess" I said rubbing my arm nervously as always 

"Oh I know what to do!" Nya said as she took off her hairband letting her hair down, I had to stop myself from getting a nose bleed 

Nya took her hairband and walked over to Jay, Nya carefully stretched out the hairband and wrapped it around Jay's eyes, turning him completely blind

"There! Problem solved!" Nya said smiling at the very confused and blind Jay

"Jay can you see anything?" Sensei asked Jay

"N-n-not a thing!" Jay said 

"Good! Then you are ready to get your Nunchucks of Lightning" Sensei said to Jay 

Nya guided Jay over to the first chain he needed to climb to ascend to his golden weapon, Jay carefully began climbing up the chain connecting the ruins together, being cautious as to not slip off. Once he reached the end of the chain he lifted himself onto a floating ruin and looked down at his friends 

"We'll wait down here for you Jay! You go get those nunchucks!" I heard a faint voice call out from the ground 

I felt around for the next chain and began climbing again, it felt like I was climbing forever until I reached another floating ruin. I could feel the lightning in the air, it felt as if it was guiding me to something. Maybe the Nunchucks of Lightning? I followed the guide the lightning was giving me and was led to the edge of the floating ruin i was standing on, I felt around for a chain to climb but there was no chain. I had to jump to the next chain 

I was absolutely terrified, I thought that not being able to see would help but it just makes it worse! The lightning guided me in the direction of the next chain, I took in and let out a deep breath to relax myself. I stepped back as far as I could on the small floating ruin to get a running start, I ran as fast as I could and leaped off the floating ruin as far as I could, I reached out and grabbed onto a chain panting. The chain swung side to side as I clung on for my life, once it stopped swinging I let out a sigh of relief and climbed up to the next floating ruin 

But this time it was different, once I stood on top of the ruin a voice called out to me, a mighty, loud and ominous voice 

Jay Walker. You have reached the first trial to prove your worth to handle the Nunchucks of Lightning

It was the First Spinjitzu Master! Would it be weird to ask for his autograph?

Now it is time for your first trial, you must defeat a small group of enemies all without your vision. Only relying on your elemental power to guide you in the fight 

Well that sounds terrifying! I am going to need all the luck in Ninjago to pull this off, I remained still waiting for something to happen. A sudden grunt could be heard behind me, I began to try and tap into my powers, closing my eyes and trying to concentrate. A sudden surge of energy hit me as I could feel my opponent running at me with a fist raised, my powers told me to jump out of the way and I did as I was told, striking my enemy down with a quick kick once I landed on my feet. That was amazing! I never knew I could do that! But my moment to shine was cut short, as my powers suddenly alerted me of another enemy to my right, I spun around to face them and was barely missed by a flying arrow, the lightning inside of me told me where and when to dodge, once I was close enough to the archer I swung my fist right into their chest knocking them off the floating ruin, I should really let my elemental powers take over more! Another warning from my powers alerted me of a foe coming right at me, I was paralysed with fear and couldn't get out of the way in time. I felt a fist connect with my chest, as soon as the hit landed a burst of lightning shot out of me sending my attacker flying away off the floating ruin 

"D-d-did I seriously j-just do that?!" I said in disbelief and astonishment 

Excellent work Jay. Now let your elemental power guide you towards your next trial

This trial was easy! I don't know what the hell Cole and Zane were talking about, this golden weapon stuff is a piece of cake! I confidently followed the lightning up a few chains and hopped across a few floating ruins until the lightning stopped guiding me, I felt myself getting higher and higher off the ground, thankfully this headband is keeping me from freaking out! The First Spinjitzu Master's voice called out to me again 

You have reached your second trial, for this trial you will learn how to control your fears and use them to control your elemental powers 

I guess it won't be such a piece of cake after all!

Your elemental power is tied with your emotions, if you are feeling afraid your powers will either stop completely or spiral out of control, and so you must learn how to control your fears. To accomplish this I ask that you remove your blindfold

Remove my blindfold?! I can't do that! I'll be absolutely terrified! One peak without this blindfold on and I'll be throwing up my guts!

You must trust me Jay, please remove your blindfold. It is the only way to unlock your true potential and obtain your golden weapon  

I sure hope trusting a disembodied voice is a good idea, I slowly reached up to my blindfold and slowly began taking it off. Once I peeled off the blindfold I was paralysed with fear, I regretfully looked down and began panicking. I was so high up! I couldn't see anything below me! I stumbled back as I heard a loud lightning bolt shoot down from the storm above me. This was such a bad idea! Before I could wrap Nya's hairband over my eyes a sudden crack formed on the floating ruin I was standing on, I moved a little closer towards the crack to investigate it, I squinted my eyes and saw something beginning to crawl out of the crack. It was a swarm of spiders! I jumped back and screamed, full of fear as countless spiders crawled all around me trapping me on this one floating ruin. I yelped as multiple spiders began climbing onto me, I tried to use my lightning powers to get them off me but it didn't work! 

You are being controlled by fear Jay, your powers will not work unless you are in control of your own emotions. Do not be afraid of something that does not wish to harm you 

Well that's easy for you to say Mr I created Ninjago! I guess he has a point though, these guys are pretty small compared to me. I'm not saying that I'm pretty big, I mean I am the second shortest ninja, but compared to these little guys, I'm like a giant! I reached out one of my shaking arms, a spider crawled onto my hand and I brought the spider a little closer to look at it. The spider looked completely harmless, it didn't look like it was gonna bite me or anything, it just wanted to be a regular old spider. I smiled and put the small spider back down on the ground, once I did so all the spiders scurried back down into the small crack in the floating ruin

Well done Jay. You have completed your second trial, now continue to climb up the floating ruins, your Golden Weapon is only one trial away 

I let out a sigh of relief, if the First Spinjitzu Master used Tiger Widow spiders, I would have been done for! Stuffing Nya's hairband into one of the pouches on my suit, i leaped off the floating ruin and grabbed onto another wet chain. Continuing to climb and jump until I reached the final floating ruin, which wasn't long. Standing on top of the last floating ruin I could see it was quite large, and in the middle of the floating chunk of land was a golden light, a blinding golden light. Just as I was about to approach the golden light a loud and mighty roar invaded my ears, a thunderbolt shot down from the stormy clouds striking the floating ruin, I opened my eyes to see a large dragon made out of electricity. It's eyes were lightning blue along with it's body, it had four strong legs and it's wings looked like they were capable of flying at lighting speed. The dragon's tail looked just like a lightning bolt, the claws of the dragon were as white as Zane's ninja gi 

The dragon slowly began to make its way towards me, I backed away terrified of what was going to happen. I looked into the dragon's eyes as the dragon opened it's mouth, what happened next completely shocked me 

"You are no ninja, you are just a scared boy who was dragged along!" The dragon roared at me, it's voice sent shivers down my spine 

"T-t-that's not t-true!" I shouted back at the dragon, trying to ignore what the dragon was saying to me 

"Oh but it is Jay! You even think it yourself" The dragon growled getting closer to me "You're a pathetic ninja, afraid of anything that moves!"

"Y-you don't know t-t-that!" I yelled at the dragon, trying to not let the words get under my skin 

"I know everything about you Jay, I am your elemental power, I am your emotions and your true feelings!" The dragon snapped at me "I know that you believe what people say about you, that you're weak and nothing compared to the other ninja, you believe them when they say you're a freckled mess"

"Y-y-you're wrong!" I shouted out at the dragon, finally standing up for myself "I am just l-l-like the other ninja! So w-what if I have a couple o-o-of problems? We all d-do! It's what makes us u-u-unique!"

The dragon stared at me for a second, until it kneeled down in front of me, another thunder bolt hit the dragon and it was gone, the disembodied voice called out to me once again 

Well done Jay, you have completed all three of your trials. You proved you were capable of using your elemental power to guide you in a fight. You conquered your fears when you removed your blindfold, learning not to fear what does not wish to harm you. With your final trial you learned to accept yourself for who you are, confronting your inner feelings. Now step forward and claim your Nunchucks of Lightning 

Oh thank the First Spinjtzu Master it's over! I walked over to the golden light and my eyes saw the Nunchucks of Lightning, they looked so cool! The golden dragon handles are so awesome! I reached out my gloved hands and grabbed the handles, suddenly my entire became pure lightning and I shot off into the sky

I landed right back down at the bottom of the floating ruins, my body returned back to its normal state. The other ninja and Sensei Wu all ran over to greet me 

"Jay you did it!" Cole said greeting me with a smile 

"Great job Jay, we are now one step closer to defeating my brother" Sensei Wu told me 

"Oh Jay I'm so glad you're okay!" Nya said throwing her arms over me, making me blush madly

"Oh uh y-y-yeah I'm uh f-f-fine, h-here's your uh hairband back N-Nya" I said opening one of the pouches on my suit and handing Nya back her hairband, she smiled at me and tied her hair back into a ponytail 

"Thank you Jay, we're all very proud of you" Nya thanked me with a smile 

"What is next Sensei?" Zane asked Sensei Wu 

"Well Zane, we will continue our search for the Golden Weapons, Kai and Nya will both try to reach out to their weapons with their powers. Whoever's weapon is closest we will go there first" Sensei Wu instructed us 

"Alright ninja, let's get a move on!" Lloyd called out to us as he jumped onto Cole's dragon along with Kai, Wu joined Zane on his dragon as I began to summon my own dragon 

I closed my eyes and concentrated, just like Cole and Zane did back on that island we were stranded on, I let go of all my fears and concerns and only focused on summoning my elemental dragon. I felt a sudden burst of energy as a bolt of lightning directly hit me, summoning my elemental dragon. The other ninja all looked at me and gasped, I smirked at them as my lightning dragon let out a mighty roar shooting lightning out of its mouth 

"I t-t-think I'm gonna c-c-call this guy Wisp!" I said to the other ninja 

"I'm sure he'll get along nicely with Rocky" Cole said talking about his dragon 

"Shard will most certainly get along with him" Zane smiled referring to his dragon 

I suddenly felt 2 arms wrap around my waist, I looked behind me to see Nya! I instantly blushed as she just giggled and held me tight 

"You got to hold onto my waist on the way here, so now I get to hold onto your waist on the way back" Nya smiled as she rested her head on my shoulder, I swore my heart stopped beating 

"Fly ninja! Fly!" Sensei shouted out at us, our dragons all shot off into the sky and we began flying off into the sunset, in search of the 2 remaining Golden Weapons

That's the end of this exciting Ninja Life chapter! Only 2 more Golden Weapons remain, will the ninja be able to retrieve them in time to stop Lord Garmadon before he unleashes the Serpentine?
