(Lloyd's POV)

I'm never going to complain about Sensei's training ever again, taking notes in Ms. Laudita's class is way more painful! My right hand hurts so much! It feels like we've been writing the same set of notes for an hour! I would much rather be fighting a group of evil skeletons! 

"Alright class, now that you should all have those notes written down, it's time to answer some questions" Ms. Laudita's voice came from the top of the classroom, you've gotta be kidding me!? I'm only half way through! Ugh whatever, I'll just ask Jay for the rest of the notes 

The grey haired teacher stepped away from her desk and headed over to the large chalkboard in the middle of the cluttered classroom, grabbing the nearby chalkboard eraser and in one swift motion removing the mountain of notes that almost broke my right hand. As Ms. Laudita began writing her questions onto the chalkboard, I thought we would have a moment to relax after needing to hurriedly take down so many notes 

I was wrong.

Very wrong.

In the blink of an eye Ms. Laudita had managed to write down at least thirty-five questions on the chalkboard, it wouldn't surprise me if she turned out to be some secret Ninja Master, no normal human could ever do such a thing! With the class all letting out a reluctant sigh, we picked back up our pens and tried to answer at least one of the questions, even with our aching hands telling us to stop 

My concentration was quickly destroyed however as the intercom speaker buzzed to life, or should I say shrieked to life, making me drop my pen to cover my ears from the horrid sound 

"May the students Kai Smith, Nya Smith, Lloyd Garmadon, Jay Walker, Cole Brookstone, Zane Julien, Skylor Chen and Harumi Jade please report to my office" Principal Andreasen called out our names over the speaker

Huh? Why would he be asking for us? Honestly I don't think I really care, whatever gets me out of doing those thirty-five questions! 

The others and I all stood up from our desks and began heading for Principal Andreasen's office, sharing puzzled looks and ideas as to why we were being called into his office, hopefully it isn't about the secret tunnels leading to the warehouse in all of our lockers......

I pushed open the dark wooden door to Principal Andreasen's office, the eight of us being greeted by a very disapproving look from the bald man sitting across from us, well that eliminates the chance that this visit is about something positive 

"Please, have a seat" The principal gestured to the eight chairs placed in front of us, we all nervously sat down, still wondering what this could be about "Well then, I can say that I'm surprised to see you all here in my office. Usually the eight of you seem to be well behaved" Principal Andreasen spoke to us with a straight face

"And uh why exactly are we here in your office?" I decided to just ask the principal, receiving a glare in response "Don't try and play innocent now young Garmadon, you and your friends are in serious trouble for your actions" He spoke to me, well that clears everything up perfectly 

Skylor was next to question the principal "Those actions being?" Sounding quite annoyed with all the mystery surrounding whatever got us into this mess "Perhaps watching it will help you all remember" Principal Andreasen told us before turning his computer monitor to face the eight of us

On his monitor seemed to be some kind of security camera footage, looking to have been recorded a few minutes ago. Everything looked perfectly normal, the footage was just a few students using their lockers in the hallway, nothing out of the ordinary. I was about to ask Principal Andreasen what exactly were we watching but the footage soon revealed what

At the two minute mark eight figures walked into the hallway and approached the students at their lockers, their faces hidden from the camera. These new figures suddenly started harassing the poor students, pushing them around along with shoving the students into their lockers, even giving a few of them wedgies. The camera was able to record some of the taunting from the mysterious figures who didn't remain mysterious for much longer, as the footage switched to another camera to reveal these terrible bullies 

The eight of us let out loud gasps, well, almost the eight of us. Zane just simply said "Gasp" 

Watching this security footage we could see the eight of us, relentlessly attacking a group of poor innocent students. What in the world?! We didn't do that!? We were literally just in class a moment ago! You were with us from the start of the chapter, you can vouch for us right!?

Looking a little closer at the footage I picked up on a few details, such as these other versions of us all wearing black leather jackets and sunglasses, and in the case of Nya's doppelgänger two jackets 

"But we didn't do any of that! We were just in class a few minutes ago!" Harumi angrily started to shout "After looking through some of your reports it seems that you eight are quite keen on suddenly disappearing during class, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is one of your reasons for doing so" Principal Andreasen replied to my girlfriend, not believing her 

"Oh come on, those could be anyone!" Kai tried to convince the bald principal "I don't think so, you are the only student in this school to have such tall hair" Principal Andreasen told Kai as he pointed at his twin on the monitor, making the brown haired Ninja very agitated "I'm telling you that's not us!" Kai angrily slammed his fist onto the armrest of his chair, Skylor rubbing his arm to calm him down 

Zane raised his hand to speak "I believe there is a simple explanation for this, it appears that your security system is not functioning properly, as I do not remember us doing such acts"

"Yeah! What Zane said!" Nya abruptly stood up from her chair and started to yell "You've got some nerve accusing us of something we didn't do when your cameras aren't even working properly! Those people are wearing completely different clothes!" Nya gestured to my twin on the monitor "See! A black leather jacket! Lloyd's not wearing that right now!" 

Principal Andreasen just sat in his chair looking at Nya with an eyebrow raised "But you're currently wearing a black leather jacket" He pointed out, Nya huffed as she sat back down with her arms crossed "I always wear this" 

"Ummm M-M-Mr. Principal A-Andresean? I-I-I'm sure there is uhhhh a p-perfectly reasonable explanation f-f-for what you have ummmmm s-s-seen" Jay began to speak "Jay Walker, I will not be listening to whatever lies you have to tell me, you were by far the worst offender. I ought to put this onto your permanent record" Principal Andresean harshly spoke to Jay "Ahhh! I-I-I'm so s-s-s-sorry!" Jay shouted out before hiding himself with his scarf 

"So can we go back to class now or what?" Cole's voice casually asked from the back of the room, not seeming too fazed about this whole fiasco "I think it would be best if you left my sight before I worsen your punishment" The bald suited man said to us "For your actions all eight of you have detention this afternoon after the school day ends, I have already alerted your parents of this so don't think any of you are getting out of this" Principal Andresean told us with a stern face "Now return to class, and please don't harass any more students on your way back"

Trying not to make our situation worse, we all kept quiet as we stepped out of Principal Andresean's office and into the hallway, returning to class in silence, I just stared at the ground and watched my own feet walk. What is happening to us? Mom is gonna kill me for this.........

"So what was up with you guys being called into Principal Andresean's office?" Seliel asked us before sitting down at our lunch table, sitting beside Cole who was more than happy to welcome her, how in the world are we meant to tell her if even we don't know what happened? We can't just tell her that there might be evil versions of us going around causing trouble! 

"Oh it's nothing important, he just needed a few opinions from students on something that's all" Nya quickly lied to Seliel who seemed satisfied with the answer "Anyone have plans for after school today? This really cool looking sushi place just opened right down the street from Master Chen's, would be helpful to check out the competition right Skylor?" She spoke to the red head who didn't know what to say 

"Well that sure is a great idea Seliel, but unfortunately Principal Andreasen kind of needs our help with something after school, sorry" Skylor kindly refused Seliel's offer to hang out after school "Hm? With what?" Seliel asked, getting curious

Now what are we supposed to tell her? It just feels like we're digging ourselves a deeper hole with each answer, might as well make it the deepest hole we can I guess "Uhh something about a ummm" I froze for a second, everyone looking at me with worried expressions before my mind finally figured out a good excuse "A day to celebrate the Secret Ninja Force! Yes! That's what it was! Sorry, I'm quite forgetful today" I rubbed the back of my blonde hair and apologised to Seliel

"Really?" Seliel sceptically asked "A day to celebrate the Secret Ninja Force?" 

"Correct" Zane chimed in, hopefully his Nindroid gears can help get us out of this situation "As the Secret Ninja Force have done so much for us, Principal Andreasen wishes to dedicate a day of the school year towards celebrating them, labelling it as Ninja Day" Zane told the purple and blue haired teen eating her lunch 

"Well, I'm not exactly the biggest fan of the Secret Ninja Force" Seliel reminded us "But if it means we can get a day off then I'm cool with it" She shrugged her shoulders 

"We'll try our best to convince Principal Andreasen to give us the day off!" Harumi jumped in, helping to sell the idea a little more 

Unfortunately, we weren't actually helping plan a Ninja Day, instead the eight of us were crammed into a small classroom for an hour long detention, with Ms. Laudita supposedly watching over us, but we all knew she was just watching one of her romcoms on her computer

It's only been five minutes and we're already bored out of our minds, they could have at least given us some work to do. The eight of us have arranged the desks and chairs into making a circle, sort of like a roundtable so we can all whisper amongst ourselves until this torture is finally over 

Everyone is mostly just on their phones, with Zane and Jay being the outcasts. Zane studying for an upcoming biology test and Jay, well he's currently groaning with his head on the desk, out of all of us he's certainly not taking this detention lightly 

"Hey Jay, you alright? You've been doing an awful lot of groaning" I leaned over and whispered to my freckled friend "N-N-No I am n-not alright!" He lifted his head off the desk to respond, clearly not taking the detention well "I-I'm in d-detention! Detention! I've n-n-never gotten detention b-before! This is g-g-gonna be on my p-p-permanent record! M-My parents are gonna g-g-ground me for a m-month!" Jay ranted in frustration, getting everyone's attention 

"Come on Jay, this detention isn't too bad" Nya gave the worrying Ninja a kind smile "Trust me, it could be a lot worse" She told him, getting a suspicious look from her brother "Wait, have you had detention before? How come I never knew?!" Kai said in surprise, getting a casual shrug from Nya "Sometimes I have to do the time for riding my motorcycle through the halls"

Zane looked up from his book to join our conversation "I too have never had detention, at least now I am getting the full experience of being a wild teen" 

"I've had detention a few times before" Cole spoke up, leaning back on his chair with his feet up on the wooden desk, listening to his headphones like always "It's not that bad, it just depends on what teacher and people you're with" The shaggy haired teen told us "Well I've never had detention before and I think I'm handling it way better than Jay" Harumi huffed with crossed arms, getting a "H-Hey!" from the insulted Jay 

"This is my first time having detention too" Skylor chimed in, putting her phone down for a second "I've had a few close calls before, who would have guessed that the thing that finally landed me in here was something I never even did" She said, reminding us of why we were all here 

"Being the son of Lord Garmadon didn't really help me stay out of detention" I started to say "I would be sent here for doing the littlest of things, if I was even a second late to class I would have detention for a whole week" I admitted to the others, getting a few sympathetic looks

Cole chuckled "Wow, the brave and courageous Green Ninja used to be such a bad boy" He teased me with a grin "Alright well I think you're the real bad boy here, you've been in and out of detention more than any of us" I smirked back at Cole 

"I don't know about that, my bro used to be in detention almost every day" Nya playfully elbowed her brother in the arm "Never knew I was dating such a rule breaker" Skylor leaned on her boyfriend's shoulder 

"Hey I couldn't help it if I lost my temper a few times" Kai shrugged his shoulders "Sometimes those teachers could really get on my nerves, with all those ridiculous homework assignments and strict rules" 

"Uhh, I hate to interrupt you guys comparing your detentions but you've all gotta see this" Harumi suddenly said in distress, turning her phone screen around to the rest of us

We all leaned in to Harumi's phone to see what had caused her to look so worried, only for it to make today much much worse. On my girlfriend's screen was a news report, showcasing live footage of the city being terrorised by a new threat 

That new threat being us 

It seems that the bullying wasn't a one time occurrence, as currently causing a ruckus in the city looked to be the same evil versions of ourselves, now sporting exact replicas of our Ninja gi, only with black leather jackets and sunglasses being worn on top. Thankfully they were only committing some pretty low level petty crime, like jaywalking and throwing a cat into a tree 

"W-W-What?!" Jay stuttered in disbelief "T-Today just k-k-keeps getting w-worse!" He cried as he slammed his head back down onto the wooden desk "Okay now those copycats have taken it too far!" Kai angrily yelled, being shushed by Ms. Laudita 

"Oh great, there goes our good reputation" Nya scoffed, what in the world did we do to deserve this?! "Now Seliel is gonna hate us even more" Cole slouched with a frown, getting a pat on the back from Zane 

"Argh we've gotta do something!" Skylor clenched her fists in anger "But we can't do anything, we still have another forty minutes or so left of this torture" I reminded the fired up Orange Ninja of our terrible situation "And I doubt we could come up with a good enough excuse for Ms. Laudita to let us go early"

Silence fell over our group for a moment as we all thought up ways of escaping our torture early to stop our evil doppelgängers, with our best solution being to call my mom and have her tell Ms. Laudita that we were all needed for some kind of family emergency, but unfortunately I had to say no the idea as I didn't think Ms. Laudita would fall for it and my mom can't answer calls during her shift 

We were forced to sit in our seats and watch as the evil versions of ourselves continued to cause havoc in the city, watching the clock slowly tick by. Hopefully they won't commit any major crimes before we're let out of this prison 

And just like that this chapter of Ninja Life comes to an end, the Ninja sure have found themselves in a tricky situation despite doing absolutely nothing. Where in the world did these evil doppelgängers come from? Will the Ninja get out of detention to stop them in time!? And will Ms. Laudita ever finish her romcom?! All of these questions are surely to be answered in the next chapter of Ninja Life
