Before I start, I wanna say that I will be using insults from my favorite book 'The Maze Runner' sometimes, so it won't be that insulting.
Jessica's POV
Today is the last day of the summer, before we go to school, so, my parents, Jay and Nya Walker, decided to make a barbecue and invite all our friends-the Brookstones, the Smiths, the Julians and the Garmadons.

I am preparing the tables in the backyard, while my dad and my older brother by not even a year, Sam, are barbecuing the meat, when I suddenly heard.

"Hey Shuckface, missed me?"a oh so familiar voice behind me said. I turned around and saw none other than my annoying best friend and soulmate, Emma.

"Hey Shank!"I said and ran to her to hug her. Her family has been away for a two weeks and I've missed that annoying shuckface so much.

"You and your book phrases,"a male voice said. I looked behind Emma and saw her older brother, Max Brookstone.

"What's wrong with our phrases?"I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.

Max smiled and shrugged,"It's just plain nerdy,"he said and walked away to see my brother.

"Pff...klunkface."I said and the two of us laughed. The thing is, me and Emma really love to read and we love the fandoms and stuff like that.

"Okay kids, since you are four now, you can all get the tables ready,"mom said and the other three groaned.

While we were doing the tables, I heard another voice,"Hey Guys,"a female. We turned around and saw none other than Snow Julien, the adopted daughter of the nindroid Zane Julien and his wife, the android Pixal Julien.

After we embraced Snow, we were done with the tables and sat down, then my favorite(and only) cousins decided to join us.

"Hello, little cousin,"Anna said, rifling my hair.

"Excuse me, I am not even a year younger than you,"I said, crossing my arms angrily.

"Eh,"Anna said. Anna and her younger brother, Ben Smith, my cousins, and the daughter and son of Kai and Skylor Smith.

Not long after, the last guests walked in. Sam, Max and Ben got up the greet the last boy in our group, Luke Garmadon.

After everyone gathered, we started eating and talking.

"So, what do you wanna succeed in this year?"I asked, taking a bite of my steak.

"Well, I am gonna try for a captain of the football team."Max said, smiling proudly.

"Don't you have to make it in the team first?"Emma said and we giggled a little.

"Haha, very funny, Em,"Max said,"But me and the guys are gonna try out for the team, like our dads,"Max said.

"Awww, now we will have to cheer for these losers, guys,"Emma fake whined and me and the girls laughed.

"We are not losers!"Ben demanded with a kinda angry face. He can be quiet hot headed sometimes, just like his dad.

"What do you mean you're gonna cheer for us?"Sam asked, rising an eyebrow.

"We-"Snow said, gesturing to us, the girls.

"-are trying out for cheerleaders!"Anna finished, proudly.

"Don't you have to be good at cheerleading to become one?"Max asked.

"Don't you have to be good at football to become a football captain?"I asked, mocking him. He stuck his tongue at me.

"Whatever we do, guys, I hope we all succeed,"Snow said. She's always been the calm one that will only wish peace and stuff like that. Just like her dad.

"Guys, from tomorrow, our lives will change. I just have the feeling that something big will happen,"I commented, eating more of my steak.

Nya's POV
I took a bite from my steak, when Skylor said,"Have you guys heard that Neuro and Toxicita have gone missing?"all of us looked at each other.

"For real?"Seliel asked.

"Yeah, without a trace,"Skylor said,"I overheard it in the restaurant,"she added.

"Do you think someone's kidnaping them?"I suggested.

"It's possible,"Zane answered.

"What happens if we 'go missing' too?"Kai asked.

"I don't think we will, Kai,"Jay said,"We will fight them. Nobody of us is alone, like Tox and Neuro,"Jay said, draping his arm around my waist.

I just hope he's right.
