First chapter of the next book in my next generation series!  There will be action, romance, drama, and lots of surprises.  Let's just say the mascot for Ninjago High School is a dragon.  Credit to Jayafanfic for the ship name for Max and Alex.  If anyone has any ship names for Justin and Rosie or Mason and Juliet, please let me know in the comments.  I am bad with ship names.  Without further ado, let's get on with the story.

"Hello Ninjago.  This is Gayle Gossip bringing you the latest news.  There haven't been any big threats to Ninjago lately which has been giving the new ninja team a break.  After they saved Ninjago a few months ago, they have been receiving lots of awards and going on lots of interviews.  They haven't spoken much about their private life, but I guess there are some things even the heroes want to keep secret.  Everyone wants to know what they're up to and they especially want to know more about Ninjago's power couple.  Malex is trending #1 and it is rumored that they are celebrating their one year anniversary today.  The one thought in the mind of all Malex shippers is how are they celebrating?"

"I still can't believe that Alex and Max are Ninjago's power couple," Justin complained.  "How come it's not me and Rosie?  It's not everyday where a human and a nindroid are dating."

"I do not mind them being the power couple with how much the media is focussed on them," Rosie said.

"Mason and I don't mind not being the power couple," Juliet said.  "Isn't that right, Mason?"

"Whatever you say, beautiful," Mason said to his girlfriend.  He then looked over to his sister who was glued to her phone.  "Harper, you know you have to look up at some point."

"Sorry," Harper said.  "I was just texting Joseph."

"Joseph, huh?"  Mason raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah.  Oh and by the way Zeke and Felix, we're hanging out on Saturday."

"What if we don't want to hang around you and Joseph?" Zeke said.

"Kyara and Sarah will be there."

"I'm in."

"I would also like to go," Felix said.  Everyone laughed at how quickly Zeke's and Felix's attitudes changed.

"Where did Alex and Max go anyway to celebrate their anniversary?" Juliet asked.

"Oh," Justin said.  "Max had something special planned."

Ninjago City

"I love the view," Alex said.

"I thought you would," Max said.  "I looked all over for the best view over the city and this billboard happened to be it."

"And you planned a picnic all the way up here?"

"Well, yeah.  I thought that it would be something different to celebrate us being together for a year."

Alex looked up to the sky.  "The stars are so pretty tonight."

"Not as pretty as you."  Max gave Alex a smile to which she happily returned.

"Open my gift!"  Alex handed Max a big box.

He opened the gift.  "A new katana!"

"I had it engraved with the energy symbol."

"I love it!"  He hugged Alex.  "Now open mine!"  He handed Alex a small jewelry box.

She opened it and saw a necklace with a heart pendant on it.  "Max, this is beautiful."

"Read what it says."

She read it.  "Malex 4ever.  Thank you so much."  She kissed his cheek.  "No one has ever done anything this thoughtful for me."

"You deserve it, Alex.  You are the most amazing girl I've ever met.  You deserve the world."

"Where did you learn such corny lines?"

"I've been hanging around your brother too much."

"Everyone has been wanting to know what we're doing."  Alex was referring to all their fans.

"If you want to, we could post a picture."

"Sure."

Max took out his phone and took a selfie of him and Alex and posted it.  "Wow.  It's already trending."

"That was fast.  People are obsessed."

"That they are."

"Are you ready for the football game?"

"I guess so.  I'm a little nervous since it's the first game."

"You'll do great and I'll be there to cheer you on."

"Thanks, Alex."

"Of course."  Alex leaned her head on Max's shoulder as they looked up  at the stars.  They sat there in a comfortable silence.  They didn't need to say anything.  They both knew the way they felt about each other.  They felt like they were perfect together.

Friday at the football game

The cheerleaders were down on the football field waiting for the football players to come out.

"So Alex, how was your anniversary?!" Juliet asked excitedly.  "I haven't had a chance to ask."

"It was amazing!" Alex exclaimed.  "Max is the best boyfriend ever!"

"Did he get you that necklace you are wearing?" Rosie asked.

"He did!  Look at what it says!"

"Malex 4ever," Juliet read it.  "That is so thoughtful!"

"I know!"  Alex noticed how there was one cheerleader who was just sitting alone.  "Is that the new girl?"

"I believe so.  I didn't think she would be at this game."

"It is very unusual for someone to be allowed to join the cheer squad after we already started practicing," Rosie said.

"I'm going to talk to her," Alex said.  She walked up to the girl.  "Hey, you're the new girl, right?"  She nodded.  "I'm Alex.  I'm a senior."

"I'm Emma," she said.  "I'm also a senior.  You're one of the new ninja, aren't you?"

"I am.  I'm the master or water."

"That's so cool!  Where's your boyfriend?"

"Oh Max?  He's on the football team.  He's a running back.  My brother is also a kicker on the team and our friend, Mason, is a linebacker."  Everyone started getting ready for the football team to start running out.  "Come on.  You have to meet my cousin and another friend of mine."  Alex dragged Emma over to Juliet and Rosie.  "Girls, this is Emma.  Emma, this is my cousin, Juliet, and friend, Rosie."

"It is nice to meet you, Emma," Rosie said.

"It's nice to meet you too," Emma said.  "Since I just moved here, I don't have any friends."

"Well now you do," Juliet said.  "You're going to love it here."

"Here they come!" the cheer captain, Anna, called and the cheer leaders started cheering for them. 

"LET'S GO DRAGONS!!!" the cheerleaders cheered.

In all the commotion, no one even noticed the evil smirk on Emma's face.  She had accomplished the first part of her mission.

A/N: What could Emma's mission be?  I hope you enjoyed the first chapter!  I have so many scenes all planned out for this book, but they don't happen until later.  Let me know what you think so far and send me ship names for Justin and Rosie or Mason and Juliet.
