Once their daily training was completed, Thomas placed a hand on Amy's shoulder and spoke softly, "Amaya-"
Amy turned around, interrupting him. "I told you, Thomas, you can call me Amy, just like everyone else." She smiled faintly and dusted her sparring gloves off.
Thomas nodded and continued. "Amy. I've been meaning to ask you... you mentioned having strange dreams a while back..."
Amy laughed a little. "Strange is an understatement..." She glanced down. "They're horrifying."
"How so? If you don't mind me asking.."
Amaya shut her eyes, inhaling sharply. "Every night I dream about these... sparks... that come from my fingertips. They blast out and electrocute everyone I know and love..." She hugged her body. "I have to witness my friends suffering gruesome deaths by my hand."
Thomas shook his head. "Amy... that's horrible. I'm so sorry."
Amy clenched her teeth. "And do you want to know the worst part? I know these dreams are a part of me; I can control them. And for some-" She began to choke on tears, "For some reason, I don't stop. I continue to kill them. I choose to kill them."
Thomas took her into his arms and felt her shake with tears. "Amy, please... you know dreams, your dreams, aren't real... please, you've got to understand."
Amy covered her face, pushing him away. "What do you know? You're perfect in every way, Thomas. You can't even begin to understand what I've been going through..."
Thomas stood quietly, an empty expression resting on his face.
"Thomas?" Amy's brows scrunched together in concern. "No... Don't tell me you..."
Thomas teared up and quickly turned away from Amy. "I've suffered from dreams like yours for so long... dreams where I possess my father's powers, but wield them in a sinister fashion. I use my powers to kill people, Amy."
He wiped his eyes and laughed a bit. "In my dreams, I... I indulge in being the bad guy... I take on a new persona and kill millions with a simple flick of my hand... and in the morning, I wake up and everything's okay. Ninjago is safe. My dad is alive and... and proud of me..." Thomas stared back at Amy. "Proud of me when he should be fearing me."
Amy stood in silence, the quiet mountain breeze and the faint voices of the others being the only noise surrounding them.
After a moment of contemplation, Amy walked over to Thomas and touched his hand. "Our dreams. Maybe there's a way they can become linked... our inner desires, our dream-personas, can meet each other... perhaps they can achieve inner peace for the both of us."
Thomas smiled softly. "Amy, that's brilliant. It may take time, but it might just work."
Amy smiled, quite possible the biggest she had ever smiled, and led Thomas to the dining hall. "Come on. We've been out here long enough. Let's get some dinner."
Thomas nodded and followed her. "We have a lot to discuss tonight."
"Indeed. Which reminds me, I'd also like to ask you a few questions... regarding Micro..."
Thomas groaned and covered his blushing face as Amy giggled, "Sorry, I couldn't help myself with that one. But seriously, we gotta talk about you two."
