[Ninjago: The Descendants of the Elements Universe ]

[Note: Here's how a simple study for a chemistry test turns into a crazy trip into a world that they thought was a silly, harmless game till now. ]

Yeah. School really is a big pain in the ass. According to some, school kills the creativity and will to live of young minds. But according to parents, school teaches discipline, builds extraordinary bonds with classmates, and shows new experiences.

Still, there's something that every student hates with all his heart. Tests. The stress associated with it's indescribable. Those intrusive thoughts when you study and study, prepare for it, and yet still worry whether you will forget everything as soon as you see the paper.

The word  " test. " It is like a specter, stalking every student, which will not let go of you for a single step. And it was the same with them.

The Young League of Heroes in full squad attended the Moonshine Academy, the best school in Ninjago City. A habitat of educated minds, idealists. But most of their peers couldn't understand how people like Jake and Pedro still study there. Their chaotic nature exceeds all standards! Teachers, even the most patient ones, are fed up with them. But does anyone care? No.

But let's get back to the story.

The Young League of Heroes in full squad sat in the Academy library to study together for the upcoming chemistry test. One of the most important classes at the Academy. Everyone had to pass it.

- Okay. Does anyone know the full definition of alkanes? - Ernest asked, raising his gaze from above the textbook to his siblings and friends. He was only met with blank, confused glances. - Come on, guys. It's not that hard!

- Bro, I dunno how to open this thing! - Jake groaned, struggling to open his book. Neteyam next to him rolled his eyes and did it for him. - This way, Skxawng. You don't push the cover, you pull. And especially not with your teeth.

- Oh. That explains how I keep hurting my tongue.

Aonung, hearing this, slapped his forehead. Kiri looked at an annoyed Ernest and replied, nonchalantly browsing her blue tablet with a leaves motif on the case.

- Alkanes are organic compounds that consist entirely of single-bonded carbon and hydrogen atoms and lack any other functional groups. Alkanes have the general formula CnH2n+2.

- Noted. - Roxto beside her muttered, quickly writing it down in his notebook. Ernest looked around and noticed that everyone was doing it.

- People, you don't have to write it down. We have everything in the textbook!

- But we don't know where to look for the names of these alkenes. - Lo'ak said.

- Alkanes! And you have it on page 315!

Lo'ak rolled his eyes and muttered. - Whatever, bro.

- Listen, these definitions; alkanes, alkenes and alkynes will definitely be on the test. You must know it by heart. - Ernest.

- The probability of this is 90.23%

- Thank you, Ingrid.

- Yeah, yeah, we know chemistry is difficult. But you don't have to rub it in our faces that you know everything! - Ophelia hissed as she leaned back and put her hands behind her head.

Ernest sent her an indignant look. - I don't rubbing anything in your faces! I'm just saying how important is knowing these definitions.

- All right, knock it off! We're learning, not arguing. - Lily spoke up.

- Yeah. Don't fight. - Tsireya nodded her head.

- " Don't fight " - Ophelia scoffed.

Everyone fell silent and busied themselves with reading. Ernest heard the quiet music and raised his eyes, seeing the empty seats of Jake and Pedro, he looked at the floor and saw the two goofs sitting near one of the bookcases, almost at the end of the corridor. Pedro watched with childlike fascination as Jake played on a console that was in the library.

Ernest almost immediately boiled over and got up from his chair to approach them. Lily, Ophelia, Atlas, Neona and Eshter sensed there was going to be trouble and sprang from their chairs to follow the prince. Flame didn't care, just browsing Instagram on his phone.

- Where are they going? - Tsireya asked.

- Beats me. Learn, or else we'll never get out of here. - Aonung snorted in exasperation, aggressively writing in his notebook. - Borington will not forgive us.

- Don't say that! That's unkind.

Pedro quietly cheered for Jake, who aggressively clicked the controller buttons with full concentration. - Watch out for those purple beams! Haha! In your face, disgusting octopus! Hit the diamond.

- Haha in your face zombie! - Jake exclaimed.

- Woah...

A shadow appeared above them. They both froze, when they heard a grunt and slowly raised their eyes to Ernest, who was looking at them sternly with his hands on his hips.

Jake returned to a neutral expression. - Sup.

- Sup? What do you guys think you're doing? We're supposed to study for the test, not distract ourselves with stupid games! - Ernest growled frustrated.

- But we're so close to the episode ending! - Pedro groaned childishly. He took the controller from Jake and aggressively focused on fighting the zombies in the game.

- I don't care if it's the end or the beginning. Stop it! Tomorrow is the test, and each of us has to pass it. And that means we need focus! - Ernest rebuked as he walked over to the TV.

- Wait... No, bro, don't do it!

He pressed the button and turned it off. Pedro and Jake sighed dramatically as the others joined them.

- NOOOOOOOO!! - Jake wailed like Darth Vader, falling to his knees.

- "What's wrong with you!? - Pedro cried out in pain, grabbing his heart.

- Ernest, it was brutal. And so we all already have a short break, they could have finished the game. - Lily said softly.

- Exactly. Buzzkill! - Pedro growled accusingly.

- What were you guys actually playing? - Ophelia asked.

- Ah. That new game from Telltale. Minecraft: Story Mode. - Pedro informed calmly.

- Seriously!? - Neona yelled in shock. - This game came out about a week ago and is hype on YouTube! How decent academy like this, has the latest game, for the latest console, in the library?

- It's Ninjago, baby. Strange things are a daily thing. - Pedro shrugged his shoulders.

- Point taken. - Neona nodded her head.

- No matter where it came from, important thing is it was fun. And you ruined it! - Jake crossed his arms like an annoyed child, looking at Ernest.

- Me!? - Ernest pointed at himself.

- Yeah, destroyer of fun!

- Be quiet! This is a library, not a gala of fame MMA. - Atlas rebuked. They all lowered their voices, but argued anyway. They didn't notice how the controller, abandoned on the floor, began to vibrate. After a moment, a controller that a second earlier had been white turned a vivid lava color.

The TV on the bookshelf in front of them suddenly turned on by itself and its screen showed an error. Red, orange and gray colors intermingled with each other, creating an image similar to lava flowing from a volcano.

The teens gasped almost immediately, looking in awe at the TV, which was hissing. Neona and Eshter exchanged glances.

- What... What's going on? - Lily asked.

- You don't say you broke the TV! - Neona looked annoyed at Jake and Pedro. Two fools exchanged glances and looked at Ernest, who was standing closest to the device.

- We didn't do anything! It must be Ernest, he turned it off. - Pedro pointed an accusing finger at the prince.

- How on earth?! - Ernest countered angrily, crossing his arms.

- Whatever's going on. I have nothing in common with it. - Ophelia raised her hands up in the act of withdrawal. Everyone looked at her. - "What? I know we'll have trouble for this! And I'm not paying for it.

- Better just turn it off again. We can put the blame on someone else who turns it on again. Easy. - Neona said.

- I refuse to. This is a state-of-the-art device. Simply turning it off with physical contact won't do anything if the device turned on itself. - Ingrid said in the voice of a professional IT technician.

- So turn it off with remote. - Lily stated and directed her gaze to remote control on a bean bag nearby. She took it in her hand and pointed it toward the screen, intending to turn off TV, when suddenly the device emitted a deafening screech, making everyone have to cover their ears.

- What's going on!? - Atlas called out over the noise.

- As if I knew! - Ophelia exclaimed.

Suddenly the screeching stopped and the figure of a man appeared on the screen, which stunned them. A human, or at least that's what he looked like, with gray skin, dressed all in red, with lava-colored eyes and red hair. His gaze pierced young people thoroughly, and a disturbing shiver went through everyone as he laughed.

- Hello there, fellow guests! I hope you're ready!

- For what? - Ernest asked confused and worried.

It was as if the guy heard him, because his grin widened dangerously and his eyes shone with twisted joy.

- FOR ENTERTAINING FUN!!!

He laughed out loud, then disappeared, and a moment later a medium-sized portal appeared in front of them, pulling everyone in front of it inside. Ernest and Ingrid managed to escape in time, before being pulled in. The sudden commotion made the others raise their eyes from their books and look at each other.

- Did you guys hear something? - Rotxo asked.

- Such a noise. - Tsireya nodded her head.

- What was that? - Neteyam asked.

- Nah. Probably the air conditioning. - Flame shrugged his shoulders, unconcerned. The others also shrugged their shoulders and went back to studying.

A portal opened in the sky and five screaming figures fell out of it.

- Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap!!

- We're falling!!

- You don't say!!

- Trees!!

- AAAAAAAA!!

- Woooohoooo!

They collided with branches of oak trees and can be heard groans and screams of pain as they fell like balls in a flipper before falling on their faces. Everyone coughed and groaned as they felt the earthy taste of surface.

- What... What... What was that? - Atlas sighed, covering his face with his hand.

Lily raised her head feeling dizzy and shook her head when she saw that they are in the woods. - Erm... Guys?

They all rose to sit and looked around in awe. Indeed, they're in the woods. Eshter looked up and gasped, seeing a square sun in the sky. A square sun! - Hey... Why is the sun square?

- Or better yet... Why are the trees square! - Atlas shrieked, seeing now that both trunks and leaves were made of squares.

- Great... So we are in another dimension. Super. - Ophelia said sarcastically, rolling her eyes, lying on the grass.

- But at least our bodies are normal. - Neona said, looking at her feet.

- Where on Clevertus' right eye are we!? - Lily called out, looking around.

- Well, I think I know... - Jake raised his hand, lying defeated on the ground. Everyone turned to look at him and Pedro, who was lying on his belly, and exchanged an understanding glance with Master of Storm. - We are... In Minecraft.

- Say what now? - Ophelia asked.

- You mean like in that game you played in the library? - Eshter asked.

- Yep.

- Okay.... Em... - Lily began awkwardly.

Silence ensued between them as the sounds of the forest and the flowing river nearby accompanied them.

- How are we going to get out of here. We have to get home before night! - Eshter shouted anxiously. - Where is this portal?

- Erm... Sky? After all, we fell out of it, remember? - Pedro asked. Everyone looked up, trying somehow to see the familiar portal, but they saw nothing.

- Can you see it there?

- Nope.

- Great, that means we're stuck. - Ophelia hissed in exasperation.

- So that's what the TV guy meant. He trapped us in a video game! - Atlas exclaimed with his eyes wide open.

- You don't say. - Ophelia rolled her eyes.

- Whoever that red guy was, he sent us here, into the world of the video game. If there is an entrance, there must be an exit from this place. - Lily said.

- Okay, but where do we find it? This world is millions and millions of kilometers! - Neona exclaimed.

- We won't find it in plain sight, silly. Let's not panic, let's stay calm. I'm sure we'll get out of this somehow, we just need to find out where we actually are. - Lily said.

- In the woods? - Eshter asked.

- Can you hear the sound of water? Where there's water, there's a river to be found. I'm pretty sure that somewhere near it there's a place, a village, a town or whatever, where people live. -Jake said.

- We can ask someone for help. - Neona suggested.

- That sounds like a plan. - Pedro said with a nod, getting up from the ground.

- Neona, can you take to the air and see the area we are in from above? - Lily asked.

- Sure!

Lily nodded her head. - Great. Well, we'd better move out.

- Erm. One question. We're still in those stupid clothes from the Academy. - Neona complained.

- That's not a question, Neona. It's a statement. - Eshter corrected politely. Neona gently rolled her eyes.

- Right. Walking in them for a long distance will be damn uncomfortable. - Pedro stated.

- Then why don't we take them off?

Atlas hissed with indignation. - I'm not gonna walk around naked!

- Brother. We don't wear clothes every day. Snakes don't wear clothes, so why does it make such a big difference to you? Here we no longer have an overzealous Strickler to chastise us for not wearing this kaftan. - Ophelia said.

- Yeah. He's dead.

They fell silent awkwardly.

- We'd better go before something finds us here, we have no weapons to defend ourselves and.... - Eshter paused when they heard someone's voice. They all synchronously turned toward it. They saw a girl in a red uniform, with dark skin and black hair with braids. Ah and a hat on her head.

- Hey do you need help? I heard someone's screams and came to see what is going on. Are you guys all right? - She asked, looking at them with concern.

Jake and Pedro both sighed collectively impressed and whispered. - Olivia.

They all stayed quiet and only blinked at the newcomer. Olivia felt awkward. - Hello?

Eshter, Lily and Neona exchanged nervous glances. What were they suppose to say? That they are visitors from another world and she is a character from a video game?

- Erm... We're fine. Thank you. - Lily said after a while.

- Are you guys sure? You guys look battered and scared. - Olivia asked.

- Everything's fine, dudette. - Pedro said.

Olivia nodded, apparently satisfied. She extended her hand to Lily. - I'm Olivia, by the way.

Lily gave a friendly smile. - I'm Lily. And they are, Eshter, Neona, Pedro, Jake, Ophelia and Atlas.

- Sup.

- Hello.

- Please to meet you.

- Hello there.

- What's up, Olivia?

- Hi!

Olivia nodded with a smile and looked at them with curiosity. - Is there any reason why you are so stressed? Is something threatening you?

Ophelia snorted. - You wish. We just got lost... that's all.

- Oh. Then maybe I can help you get back to the town? Endercon will start soon and me and my friends are going there too. If you want you can join. Do you plan to participate in the building competition? - she asked.

They only exchanged confused glances and shook their heads.

- We didn't plan to, but... Let me tell you, it's an interesting idea! Can you take us there? - Eshter asked Olivia. She trusted her.

- Sure, I can also introduce you guys to my friends. Come on. - Olivia said and started walking.

- Wait, are we seriously going to trust her? - Ophelia asked in a whisper as they started walking together behind the girl.

- She's nice and pretty. In my opinion, she's fine. - Eshter said.

- This is Olivia, one of the main characters in the game. She's quite good at working with redstone and is very nice. She also has her own pack of friends like us! I'm sure you'll like them. - Pedro said cheerfully.

- I agree, bro. I so want to see Endercon with my own eyes! It looks amazing! - Jake squealed quietly excited. - Trust us. - He winked at them with a smile.

- Maybe this world won't be so bad. I just hope we can find our way home and make some friends. - Lily said.

- I agree. - Neona nodded her head.

They all nodded their heads in agreement and ran to catch up with Olivia, who already found this group of teenagers as interesting people. She's eager to learn more about them and introduce them to her friends. She is sure they will like them too.
