(T/N) POV

A year has passed after Master Wu disappeared in the Iron Fatum along with the Time Twins, causing a group of seven brave ninja to split up. One of them is me, the (Y/N) yellow ninja. One of the saviors of the land of Ninjago. Master Wu's disappearance has moved me, but not only that. You see my other master, Aya one day disappeared to no one knows where, without telling me anything.

Who is Aya, you ask? She was a Master of Magic and Healing, she saved me when I was hiding from the Digital Overlord. During our clash on the Dark Island, he mistook me for her, because we look alike even though she is 10 years older than me. She told me that she and he were mortal enemies because he killed her brother, but that's a topic for another conversation. After that we met more and more often in the field by the rice crop and there she taught me a lot of fighting techniques and about my power.

- (Y/N), are you okay?-a voice asked and I turned towards it.

It was Saber, my lion. He is a lion with a gorgeous snow-white coat, a lush brown mane, and unusual emerald-green eyes that look at me with curiosity. He and I have been friends since I rescued him from the hands of poachers. He has the ability to speak because Aya used some sort of spell so we could talk to each other.

-Yes, Saber. It's fine, I was just thinking about something.

He looked at me suspiciously, then shook his head.

-Well, nevermind. I got a signal from Pixal that we were to meet the others at the Borg tower because some mysterious mask was stolen.

I nodded, walked over to the weapons cabinet and reached for my sword.

- Let's not waste time, let's move!

He nodded and we ran out the door.

=Skipping time=

We got to the top floor of the Borg tower and we headed towards the sliding doors where we could see the familiar six silhouettes.

Lloyd POV

I opened the door and my friends appeared to my eyes.

-Hey, there he is! You're late!-said Kai, slapping me on the shoulder with his fist.

-Kai wasn't on time either, if it's any consolation to you.- stated Zane calmly, smiling innocently.

-Thank you guys for coming! It's been a long time since we've seen each other in this group huh?

Nya started giggling and Cole nudged Jay.

- What?

-Your voice is... - started Kai.

- Lower- stated the voices, making us turn around.

It was (Y/N) and Saber, leaning against the door, smiling. I have to admit she and her lion never cease to surprise me.

-(Y/N), Saber!- the others shouted and ran over to hug them.

- Heh, it's nice to feel loved.- stated the lion, jokingly

- Hello dears! We haven't seen each other in a long time!-she said.

She came up to me and hugged me, and I returned the gesture.

-Okay, okay, no more of this tenderness.- stated Kai, looking at me angrily.

Nya walked over and patted him on the back of the head.

- Oh, give them a break.-she said with a giggle.

I grunted, letting her go.

-Yes, have you heard from Misako?- asked (Y/N).

- No, ever since she went looking for Wu, she's been lost. I have no idea where she is.-I explained, sighing.

-Hey, she'll definitely be back. Master will be back too.-Cole replied with a smile.

- They don't always all come back, Cole. But that's not why I called you, look I'll show you something.-I said pulling out a tablet and showing them a picture with a logo on it.

-Your father, Lord Garmadon? -Cole gasped.

-I've been asking around and it turns out it's... -I started.

-Sons of Garmadon! A mysterious criminal organization that's been on the rise lately.

-72 hours ago, they stole a very important item from Cyrus Borg. It's some kind of mask.- I said.

(Y/N) POV

-72 hours ago they stole a vital item from Cyrus Borg. It's a mask.

-Not some mask, but the mask of the Oni.-said the man entering. - There are three masks.

-Wait a minute, I don't get it. Are Oni, wait, are there three Oni? -said a confused Jay.

-Oni are the Oni after all.- said Nya.

- Oni are very powerful demons. They existed before Ninjago. -said Zane.

-Each of the masks has one power from the Oni rulers, so whoever gets all three will become all powerful, will have unimaginable power.- said the men seriously.

- Ninja, this is Mr. Hutchings. Senior captain and advisor to the imperial family, I called him to...

-Emperial family? -Kai asked.

- You probably don't know of its existence. They value their privacy as much as Ninjago's security.- said Hutchings.

-And let me guess, they're have masks too, aren't they? -said Cole.

-Oni? That's a few more?-Jay said enthusiastically  and I quickly covered his mouth.

-The Emperor will be making an address to the nation tomorrow. I'm afraid the Sons of Garmadon will want to attack us, we'd be happy to have your help as long as you stay out of sight.

-We are ninjas! -said Zane, activating his camouflage. - No one will even notice.

-Please let us know, where and when.- I said, bowing.

= Next day=

(Y/N) POV

The crowd started to gather and the emperor is giving a speech. We were assigned to watch the people on the roof, Nya hid in the crowd and Lloyd hid behind a column near the palace entrance. The ninjas began debating the Emperor's power and his current actions and I looked out for danger.

Instinctively, I looked at Lloyd and noticed that he was staring at something, or someone... at the princess. I could see something like awe in his eyes, it kind of gave me a strange feeling in my stomach.

I ignored it as gun-like gunshots started to be heard and the crowd went into a panic. A green ninja jumped up to the empress and princess, shielding them. It turned out to be just a false alarm, fireworks.... classic. At dusk Hutchings invited us to the palace to meet the royal family. Everyone was stunned by the beauty of the palace, for me it was not to my liking. We arrived at the throne room.

-This is the Emperor, along with his wife and their daughter. Princess Harumi - introduced the guard and we bowed.

After short introductions and pleasantries, Harumi approached us.

- I did not think I would ever see you. Your actions have already become the stuff of legend. Kai; who first acts and then judges the situation. Cole; the rock on which this team stands. Jay; who throws jokes as good as lightning. Zane; the hard-headed nindroid. Nya; the girl. The girl who knows a technique surpassed by the greatest masters. Lloyd and (T/N), the green and yellow ninja, the masters, the chosen ones. Know that I too have lost my parents.

Jay, confused looked at the emperor and empress.

-We adopted Harumi and raised her as a daughter, after her parents died.- said the emperor.

At that time, I looked at Lloyd with an uncertain look, which he reciprocated.

- We think you will be in the palace until the danger is averted.-said the empress anxiously.

-Times are troubled now, and one of the coveted Oni masks is in our possession.-said the emperor.

-If they fall into the wrong hands, it is over. Agree to it.-begged us Harumi.

We looked at each other with a determined look.

- We are at your service, madam.-said Lloyd, bowing.

Harumi smiled.

- Excellent, dear Hutchings will show you around the palace.

Hutchings showed us the Illusion Mask to guard and our temporary quarters where we would sleep. In the middle of the night, something was bothering me and I went to check the mask. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a very familiar green kimono heading toward town.
