Injuries (Problems PT:2)

So guys, welcome to part two of the saga. This one most likely won't be as long as the other one, and will focus more on the injuries that the two got through season 8&9. I know how my FF's focus more on dialog, but that's the best I know so far, however, little by little I am trying to include more action's and a bit less dialog, so it comes out less - Stage Play, however I am not good with that sort of stuff, so you may have to be patient. Anyway, on to the story!

(Tommy please I want it. Please) Ahem I mean - I do not own Ninjago, and probably never will.

Set after season 9

Warning - Mentions of self harm

(Both POV's)

How hurt was he?

It was a blunt question, but one that has many more in-depth meanings, with many questions that can be spun off from it. How bad are his injuries, Why hasn't he told me about them? What actually happened in the First Realm? What else is he hidi-. Getting Distracted Nya, Focus!

Nya stepped out of her trance to see Jay looking back at her with worry in his eyes. Awh, he looks so cute when he's worried. Wait Nya. FOCUS!

"Jay-" Nya began. Jay gave his full attention to her. "How hurt are you?" Her voice almost pleading with him to give the honest answer. Jay resisted. He had to. Nya needs me now, Jay thought, right now it's about her, and her alone.

"Whadda mean? Hurt, me? No. No idea what your talking ab-"

"Jay!" Nya commanded, more forcefully than before. She knew that it would have to take more than a simple ask; her boyfriend told her most things, however when those few things he doesn't tell her; it's usually serious. And she was going to get to the bottom of it, if it was the last thing she does.

Instead of giving a response, like he normally would, Nya was surprised when he just put his head down, almost as if he was ashamed of giving the correct response. I won't let him go that easily. She gestured to him to continue, using her hands to further emphasize the point across. He got up from the couch, and looked back at her, his eyes seeming to say two words. Follow me. Nya didn't need to be told twice.

They both enjoyed a quiet and short walk towards Jay's room, in which Nya figured out that either he hasn't told anyone else about this yet, or that he wanted privacy when showing her. Maybe it's a mix of both. She would have to wait to find out. She also made a note to ask her brother what happened while they were all in the First Realm; she may get more information than from Jay.

As they reached the door, Jay hesitated, unsure on how to proceed. He looked back to see Nya smiling at him, giving him the reassurance that she would not judge him too harshly for this. Maybe just a little. He turned back round to open the door, walking in with Nya in tow, closing the door, then proceeding to lock it. Showing the others was not on his list today, or they would realise something was wrong.

Jay looked back to see Nya already on the bed, waiting patiently for him to come over. He slightly regretted not fighting harder for it to remain a secret. If I only just kept my mouth shut, she wouldn't have realised. Why am I so stupid?!

Nya looked on as her boyfriend as he approached the bed, looking hesitant to do so. Nya realised that it may take some convincing. She looked on towards him, an almost pleading look on her face. Jay couldn't resist for long, and put his head down. Nya caught onto this.

"Jay, I know that it may be hard, but I will not judge you, no matter how bad." Truth was, that she was extremely close to just ripping his shirt off to find out what was wrong, but she knew that there would be questions at the very least from Jay.

Jay sighed, knowing that the longer he held this off, the harder it will be to actually do it. He started to take his shirt off, Nya watching him all the way. She had to regain her focus once Jay's abs came into show however. I can be lost in those all day, she thought. However she had to regain control of her eyes, and her blush, when she saw the state of his body. Firstly, she saw that he was a lot thinner than he used to be, almost comparable to a skeleton. The lack of food in recent days for Jay had taken a toll, and it showed badly.

Nya had hoped that the list of the negatives would stop there, however, there were scars all over his chest, some coming increasingly close to his heart, which made hers drop. There were over a dozen new ones, some taking the place of older scars. When asked to turn around, Jay's body revealed more to her on his back and shoulders. One even snaked up to the back of his neck. This was much worse than the injuries from others, including the tourture he received from Nadakan.

"Jay, where are these scars from?" She pointed at his chest, already knowing the answer. "From the battles I had in the first realm, no big deal" he shrugged it off, trying to seem like he doesn't care. But Nya did. Doesn't care. Doesn't care?!?! If I could go to the First Realm and take them all out I woul- calm Nya, calm. Other battles have tested us, this is just another to the roster.

Yes, they usually got hurt, with scars to show from other battles, but it had never been at this scale. However, the most alarming thing that took over her senses was his arms: He had scars all over them, and most worrying; some looked recent. They did not look like they came from a battle, rather himself. Nya was immediately put on alert. What could of happened for Jay to go as radical as that? Was there more mental trauma than I could of realised?

Jay all this time was looking at her, worry in his eyes, and even more so as he realised she was inspecting his arms. He didn't want Nya to find out this way about his, ahem, "habits" since they were trapped there, but he feared there may be no way to escape this situation.

He was pulled out of his thoughts by a soft hand running up and down on his arm, taking in the texture and feeling of it. He had no idea when he sat down on the bed, it must have been a subconscious thing. He knew this next conversation would be hard, not just on him, but her too. Last thing Jay wants is for Nya to start blaming herself over it.

"Jay..." Nya started. She was trying not to get angry at him for this, and all those who caused this. She would get to the bottom of this. "What's all this about?" She spoke softly, acting carefully so she can show him that she won't be judgemental about it. She was successful.

Jay lowered his guard a bit. There was no point lying now. "Well, while the rest of us were in the First Realm, I could only take so much of what had happened, and for the first few days I was... alright," Nya could sense there was more to that, but let him continue, "after that however, I couldn't take much more of it without you. So I got into the habit. Kept it secret for a few days, however Kai found out, and tried to stop me. Something about 'Nya would not be happy with you' or something along the lines, however I did not listen to him, and by the look on your face," he gestured to her face, which indeed, was falling with every word he spoke, "he was right. For once.

I couldn't stop the feeling of calmness I got, and without it, I wouldn't have been of much help in the First Realm, and although Kai knew, he didn't try to stop me, knowing that it was my only coping mechanism at the time. I tried to stop myself, but knowing I couldn't come to you to help me, not knowing if you were alive, made me unable to resist the feeling of calm within me, even if it was only for a few hours at a time -"

While Jay was pouring his heart out to Nya, of all his traumas recently, she was listening, and holding his hand, stroking his palm with her fingers for comfort. It was not often that he would go this much into detail of what was wrong with him, and she knew that it would take more than words and a hug to help him with this one. Tears were threatening to fall, however she had to stay strong. For Jay.

"- However, I thought that when I got back to ninjago; to you, that it would help. However the feeling has gotten stronger, and Kai said he had no idea how to help me either. I wanted to keep it a s-s-secret unt-il I got it-t-t solved," the tears had fallen from Jay first, and they flooded out. Keeping the secret from Nya was tough, but Jay was glad he told her. It was a weight off his chest that he didn't know even existed until now. He picked up his shirt from the ground, and quickly put it back on himself.

Suddenly, he felt strong arms wrap around his smaller frame, and looked at Nya, who was also sobbing uncontrollably. He felt bad for making his girlfriend cry, and did his best to sooth her by stroking her raven hair. Nya started calming down, but she felt a bit embarrassed, partly because she didn't like to cry in front of him, even though he has said multiple times that he didn't mind, once even calling it 'cute.' Normally she would hate that adjective, but not when spoken from Jay.

However, the other reason she felt embarrassed however, was that he was more hurt, and instead was comforting her. "Why are you even comforting me? It should be me comforting you." she mumbled under her breath, but unfortunately for her, Jay heard her. "Because I care for you, and don't forget that you have had a rough f-f-few weeks as w-well" Jay was back to crying, and Nya felt no obligation to stop now. For the next few minutes or so, they stayed in each other's arms, finally letting free all the stress and pain that they have bottled up from the last few weeks. However lost they feel, at least they have each other now.

"Jay, I am not the best person for this sort of thing, or in the top 100, but I will do everything in my power to ensure your recovery, and to help you with your injuries to the best of my ability. I know I don't say it much, but I love you, and I want you to know that. No matter what happens, I will be by your side."

Jay's response to it was to pull her into a long, deep kiss, in which she gave a satisfied sigh, before kissing him back with as much intensity. She always enjoyed the small moments that they had together, whether it be watching a corny romantic film, training together, inventing something together, or just lying together in bed, she was always happy with him.

Jay pulled back, and rested his head on Nya's shoulders. He had missed her so, so much while he was away, and with no visible threat on the horizon, he was going to make sure to spend as much of it with his love. However, going over injuries, he had shown her his, however, she has not done the same. He looked down to her leg, remembering that a car had landed on it.

"Now that we have discussed my injuries," Nya perked up at this, looking at her boyfriend. "Now it is time to discuss yours. I heard about your leg sprain from Lloyd earlier, but did you get hurt anywhere else?" Nya sighed. She knew he would ask this question: it's in his nature to try and protect her and care for her as much as possible.

"Well, apart from the leg injury, I have only got a few new scars on my back," and as she told him, she undid the back of her gi, just enough to show him the new scars reaching from the bottom of her neck, to just around her shoulders. She gasped slightly as she felt his hand on her neck, his fingers tracing the soft scars on her shoulders, while she leaned back into the warmth.

"You know, if you need anything- " He started

"- I know where to find you" she finished, pulling him into a quick hug, before pulling him back. Almost professionally, she started explaining her plan that she had been putting together.

"Right. First things first tomorrow, I'm getting James in here to have a talk to you." James was their team therapist, who they met shortly after the final battle. Since then, he has offered to help the team with therapy whenever they needed it. Nya knew Jay was going to object: he just didn't like piling his problems on others, however, Nya was not taking no for an answer. Jay just looked at her with a pleading look, begging her not to do this. Nya just replied with a simple shake of the head. Jay looked down, defeated, but he knew this was all in the best of interests.

Nya pulled Jay in for another hug. This time, they were hugging for several minutes, until she felt Jay's body slump against her. She pulled her head up to see that he had fallen asleep on her, with no intention of waking up soon. Nya laid him down on the bed, and put the covers over him.

"Goodnight Sparky." She told him, before kissing his head softly. He mumbled something incoherent, before smiling, snuggling into the pillow. Nya was tempted to join him right there and then, but she had to pay a visit to someone before they suspected that she caught on.

She walked out the room, gently closing the door behind her. Jay needed his sleep, and the last thing he needed was to hear Nya yelling at someone else. She marched down the hall into the living room --

(Kai's POV) {uh oh...}

Since Jay took Nya elsewhere, me, Lloyd and Zane have all set up camp in the living room, on the couch watching some TV. It had been a while since those two left, so much that night had fallen. Cole had gone to bed in a sour mood after failing to find his cake around, and swore to keep searching in the morning. Poor Cole, when will the writer allow him to find his cake? Wait- what am I saying? Why did I think that? Writer? Wha-

Kai was kicked from his thoughts by a searing pain on his left cheek. He put his hand up to it to inspect the damage, and looked up to see Nya staring down at him, steam erupting from her ears. For the water ninja, she could get as hot headed as her brother. Kai suddenly felt extremely small considering he was taller than her. He looked to the side to see that the other two ninja had jumped ship, and were currently hidden behind the couch, trying to avoid her gaze. They wouldn't want to do anything to upset her on a normal day, nevermind in this state. She can be their worst nightmare if she wanted to be.

"Outside. Now." Those two words scared him more than anything they have faced in recent years. Mainly because he could sometimes predict their next moves; with Nya however, she can be unpredictable at the best of times, and he feared he would not get off lightly.

Kai got up from the couch, and slowly walked towards the door to the outside to the courtyard. The night was cold and breezy, and it didn't seem to affect them at all: One didn't get cold without his powers, and one was not caring at all.

"So.. sis, what's this about?" He approached the question carefully, trying not to upset her more, but by the offended look, then switching back to angry, even more so than before, he knew he said the wrong thing.

"What's this about? What's this about?!?! It's about Jay!" She shouted at him. Kai was confused for a second, then realised it was about Jay's, erm, 'habits.' Kai had never feared anything more than Nya at that point of time, realising there was no hiding from the fact now: Either come clean or suffer extreme consequences.

"I-I - uhm- " Nya was staring him down, making him extremely uncomfortable. She got sick of waiting for an answer, so she decided to go at him again.

"You-" she started, poking his chest with her finger, "you knew about this, about Jay's cutting, and you did not tell me?!?" Kai started walking backwards, with Nya following his every step. "You could have come to tell me the second you got back, and you thought it was best to keep it a secret from me??!" Kai had ran out of floor, his back hitting the wall. He did his first instinct- cower, "You knew Jay wouldn't tell me, SO WHY DIDN'T YOU?!?!" Nya all but screamed the last bit at him, Kai wishing he wasn't in this place, and that the ground would swallow him whole.

"J-J-Jay told m-m-me t-t-to keep i-i-it a s-s-sec-c-ret" Kai told through wimpers.

"And you listened to him?! When do you ever do that!" Courage flowed through his veins.

"Since he told me that telling you would break you, and he didn't want to see you like that, or this." He gestured to her. She stopped immediately. She never considered that Kai kept it a secret was for her own benefit, or Jay's at that. She really messed up now.

Kai felt an arm on his shoulder, and immediately feared the worst, closing his eyes, waiting for something to happen. However, when nothing came from it, he opened one eye to see Nya backing away with a distraught look on her face. She felt pure shame for assuming that the action was one of selfish desire, rather it was one of care. Kai could see where she was coming from. If someone hurt Skylor, and she and Jay knew about it, he would drill into his head about not telling him. He slung his arms around Nya, while she broke, and cried in his arms. He could hear her mumbling something along the lines of "I'm a bad sister," repeating it to herself over and over again. He let her calm down before talking to her again.

"You're not a bad sister, Nya. You are just worried about Jay. I am too, and the fact that you're with him now, is going to make him feel better. Don't worry. We will get through this."

Nya pulled away, chuckling a bit, before the look of sorrow on her face. "I'm sorry about that," she told him. He just laughed, "no worries, I would do the same for Skylor."

Nya sighed in relief, happy she hadn't ruined her relationship with her brother, before disclosing some news to him. "I'm getting James in tomorrow to have a talk with him about these issues."

"That's a good idea sis, may ask to talk with me as well."

"I might have an individual talk with him as well, clear the air"

Both of the siblings laughed together, before heading back into the monastery, a feel of contemptment between the two.

Agh... the Angst! Well there we go, part two of the saga. Remember when I said at the beginning that this was probably not going to be as long as the first one? Well..... I have the habit of not changing the intro bits at the end to make it feel as if you can feel the progression. Here's some figures for you.

Recovery - 1882 words

Injury - 3253 words

Past me clearly has no idea what he's talking about, but I hoped this turned out good for you. I had a blast writing it!

Let me know what you think about the chapter, and please, I like suggestions. I hope you have enjoyed this chapter!

Next few chapters may be shorter, but will have happier tones in it, cause I need some cheer in this book. Until then however. See ya Laters - Alligators
