It had been roughly two days since Jay had disappeared into the Prime Empire machine that they found, and everyone had not been taking it well. Without the humour on the team, everyone has just fallen into a routine of nothingness, to try and avoid the inevitable questions that they would have to face.

Is Jay okay in there? Would they be able to get him out? What happens if he is gone for real?

All the ninja did not want to think of the answers, but for some, they just kept haunting them, almost begging for an answer to be given. And there was nobody who wanted the answers more than the raven-haired girl, who was currently in her room, crying.

She remembered feeling extreme worry when she saw him go into that machine on the screen, and even worse when Cole opened up the machine to see where he had gone, only to find it empty.

They delivered the machine off the Cyrus Borg, where he said he would be looking at it for the next few days, and would contact them if he uncovered anything new about the arcade cabinet, but for Nya, it wasn't enough.

Isn't he supposed to be good at this sort of stuff, why is he taking so long?

Nya had not been able to get a good night of rest since he disappeared, and she was starting to feel the effects of it. She was laying on her bed in her pj's, hair out of her scrunchy, covered with Jay's hoodies, both as reassurance that he will come out alright, as well as for her own comfort. However it still wasn't enough.

She had to see him with her own eyes, hear his voice, feel his touch, for only then to know that he was okay. She had lost him too many times already, and couldn't take much more of it anymore. She then had an idea. It would be a temporary fix, like the hoodies, but she would take anything to be able to get a proper night's rest. She knew that when Jay had issues sleeping, he would hug his bear: Mr Cuddlywomp.

Nya was slightly jealous sometimes that it couldn't be her that he was hugging in his sleep instead of the bear, but she would have to make do.

However it gave her an idea. If Mr Cuddlywomp would help Jay get to sleep; perhaps it could help her as well. She figured it was worth a shot, since she was pretty much out of options. However the teddy was in Jay's bed, which was down the hall.

She looked at the clock- 1:43am, most of the other ninja would be asleep by now, so if she was to go out, she would have to do it quietly. She would also have to make sure that she kept quiet in her room now, as to try not wake anyone else up with her cries.

She opened up the door to look outside, seeing if there was anyone in the hallway. Nobody was there. Good.

She went back to her drawers and pulled out a key just in case his door was locked. They all had locks on their doors just in case they wanted privacy, however Jay gave her a key to his room, and Nya gave him one, just in case they needed to get in for some reason. That did exempt the workshops however. They did like their own secrets.

Nya snuck out of her room, her footsteps barely audible against the cold wooden floor as she snuck past the others rooms, being extra quiet to not wake them up, and creeped up to Jay's room, suddenly feeling nervous. She tried the door, and was not surprised to find it locked. Jay usually didn't like people snooping through his room. Apart from her, of course.

She slowly put the key in, and turned the lock. There was a small click, and the door opened with a slight squeal. She looked around his room to see it had been left exactly how he left it, almost like he was going to be back at any moment now. She bit back a cry; she could wake up anyone at this point.

She slowly paced around the room, noticing how different everything looked in the dark. Their pictures together; their times out; their inventions, with some pictures of him with his real parents, Ed and Edna, not the people who left him on their doorstep.

She reached his bed, before something glimmering in the moonlight on his wardrobe caught her eye. She went up to it, curious of what was reflecting the moon, before she saw it- his half of the Yin medallion. She stared at it, tears starting to fall from his eyes, before she couldn't take it anymore and started crying her eyes out, lying down on the bed with her face against his pillows, holding Mr Cuddlywomp tightly.

It was all too much for her, too much to handle. She had no idea if he was going to be alive anymore, or that the last thing she said to him was accusing him of messing with the game. He did of course, and that was the downfall. She was reminded too much of when she thought she lost him for good last time, when the Bounty was crushed by the colossus.

Season 8/9

We had just escaped the clutches of Garmadon, with Lloyd parachuting down onto our little boat. Some people were very generous to lend us their watercraft to help our friends. However, when he landed, by the look on his face, we knew something was wrong.

We continued down on the boat till we got to the outskirts of the city, where we disembarked, and started walking down the alleyways, hoping to find an abandoned building. While me and PIXAL walked ahead to try to find a location, Lloyd was hanging back, and we didn't know why.

It took a minute, but we found an abandoned factory. It would do for now.

We got everyone in the building, and sat Lloyd down. I started thinking.

"Alright. We are safe, now we just need to regroup with the others, and we can plan our atta-"

"That won't be possible," Lloyd stated grimly. I was confused. What was he implying?

Pixal was first to speak. "What won't be possible, Master Lloyd?"

"It won't be possible... because they're dead." What? What?! He must be joking, right?

I stared at him, with a frown on my face. "Now's not the time for jokes Lloyd, where did you see them last, so we can go pick them up?" I wasn't buying it.

He got up, with anger flared in his voice, quickly standing up. "What don't you get?! The Bounty got crushed by the colossus, Master Wu, Zane, Cole, Kai, and Jay. They were all on board. They didn't get off in time." He slumped back down in his chair, putting his hands over his face. "I stood there, and watched. I couldn't do anything about it." And almost like the adrenaline had worn out, he just sat there, crying.

"N-No. They will be there, I'll go look for them myself!" I started heading to the door, still in disbelief that they would be dead. However, I got stopped by the samurai.

"Nya, stop." Pixal tried to stop me by pulling me into a hug, in which I desperately tried to get out of.

"No! I will find them and prove to you that they aren't gone!" I shouted, tears flowing from my eyes. But looking back at Lloyd, I realised that he was telling the truth all this time...

They really are gone...

Dead....

Zane....

Master Wu....

Cole.....

Kai..........

And Jay.....

All gone....

I just burst into tears, hugging Pixal tightly, as if she would be gone from our lives next. I didn't want to believe that they would be gone. That he would be gone. But she knew that believing in it won't always make it true.

At some point, both Lloyd and Misako came in for a group hug, and I held on like it would be the last thing I would do. I quickly broke free from the hug, and ran to the other side of the factory, and started taking out everything in anger, trying to use the items around as a substance for her anger towards the colossus, towards Garmadon. She really wanted to go and murder him for what he had taken from her, but she knew she wouldn't even be able to get close to him with all of his goons around.

The sound of thunder drew her attention from destroying things, and towards the window instead. She saw the soft patters of rain hit the glass, followed by a bright light, lighting up the room, and outside at the same time.

She walked up to the window, and laid her head on it, just watching the rain and the lightning dance together above the clouds.

My water

His lightning.

Most people say that water and electricity don't mix, but us two have proven that wrong on so many occasions. I felt more tears prick at my eyes, but I blinked them away. I opened up my phone to see the last few messages be from Jay, saying how they had the Bounty and was on the way to pick them up. His last message, "I love you, see you soon xx :D" was what broke Nya for the second time.

She smiled at the silliness of his message through her tears, before deciding to send one back. More of a closing to herself.

"I'll see you when you get here! Love you xx ^_^"

She bit her lip. She knew he wasn't going to respond, but it felt right to do that. She smiled through her pain, and decided that they needed to find a different place. One to help Lloyd find his center and lead the team once again. But she still felt a deep sadness, because even with Lloyd, Misako, and Pixal...

She still felt alone....

"Nya, you okay?"

Nya got snapped out of her cry-fest, and looked over to the door, to see Kai there looking at her with a worried look on his face. She wiped the tears off her face, and sat up to face him.

"What? Yes. I'm fine" she dismissed the situation, waving her hand around at the same time. Kai didn't buy it.

"Nya." He dragged her name out slowly, telling her that he knew that she was lying. He entered the room, not caring if Jay told him off at a later date. If they got to see him again.

He sat down at the end of Jay's bed, slowly stroking her hair to calm her down, like how Jay did for her usually. But he's not here to help her, he thought.

Nya, seeing no way to convince him otherwise, kept crying into Jay's pillow, while Kai kept trying to calm her down, both with the hair stroking, and whispering that Jay will be alright, and that he would also come back to them, to her. He loved her too much to have any alternative as an option. Eventually her sobs turned into sniffles, and the sniffles turned into occasional hiccups.

Kai pulled Nya towards him, enveloping her into a hug. It wasn't often he did these sorts of things for her, usually because he was bad at it and Jay could do it better, but now it was his duty as her older brother to comfort her when she felt the most lost.

He looked over to Jay's drawer and saw the half of the medallion. He looked back at Nya to see that she was looking over at it again, tears now in her eyes again. He looked down to see that she had Mr Cuddlywomp held tightly in her arms, as if she was afraid it would run away if she let go.

Kai slowly pulled her up from the bed, and started walking to the door with her. "C'mon Nya, it's 3am, and you need to get up early, just in case Borg calls us." She looked down at her hands, clutching the bear even tighter than Kai thought was possible.

"I'm taking him with me," she said in a small voice, referring to the small bear. Kai smiled.

"I wouldn't expect you not to." Kai responded. They both exited the room, leaving the door unlocked, and headed back to Nya's room; Kai kept her in a side hug all the way there.

They went into Nya's room, and she let out a loud yawn, telling her what she had needed to know for a while. She got under her covers, moving some of the hoodies out of the way. Kai smiled at her possessiveness of Jay's things, she wouldn't ever give them up, just because they meant so much to her. Now more than ever.

He sat beside her, continuing to stroke her hair, quietly whispering some tunes to her. After a minute, he looked down at her to see that she had fallen asleep, clutching Mr Cuddlywomp in her hands, a small smile on her face. With how she was feeling right now, he was lucky he even got that out of her.

He slowly got off the bed, headed to the door, and walked towards the door. However, before he got there, he heard rustling from the window.

He turned around to see nothing there. Strange, he thought.

Without a second doubt, he walked out of the room, closing the door after him, heading to his own room. He stopped however when the door to Lloyd's room opened, revealing a worried boy.

"Is she alright?" He asked. Kai gave a truthful answer

"She's still upset about Jay, but I assured her we will get him back. She just needs time at the moment." That seemed to satisfy him.

"All right." He paused. "Do you think we will get Jay back?"

Kai answered honestly. "I hope so, for Nya's sake, and the people who are behind it."

Lloyd closed the door, and Kai retreated back to his own room, hoping to get some sleep before the morning arose.

Meanwhile, Nya was dreaming, dreaming of being able to find Jay, and after all this is behind them, managing to live a life together where they never get separated again. She knew Jay would be alright, and they would be reunited. He just had to be.

Without Jay, she felt as if her whole world had cracked for the second time, but this time, she had all her friends and family to help her fight for him, fight for him to return to her, because this time.....

She was not alone.
