A day of peace within a week of chaos
Finally, an attempt to write something which isn't angst. Time to step back from that for now, and try and write something nice, that warms our hearts. This one is based on Jay and Nya going on a date after the events of the "Final Battle" Enjoy!
Also, my POV's are weird, as I say they're in a POV, but they are really not. However, I am going to actually try this time.
Set after season 2

(Jay's POV)
It had been a month since the final battle, the one where us five defeated the overlord for good. A person called Cyrus Borg has been managing the cleanup and repair of the city. All of us pitched in for a bit, however it became obvious that some of us were not- equipped with the intelligence, to produce and repair some of the technology, so that meant that Kai, Lloyd, and Cole were no help to the cause, and have been setting up Sensei Wu's Academy. Meanwhile Zane had gone to spend some quality time with his father / creator, now that all the commotion had died down. That just left me and Nya.
Since the Overlord had destroyed a lot of technical items, me and Nya decided to help out by repairing a lot of them. Since our other homes have been destroyed, we set up shop in the junkyard, with people coming to us often to bring in items to fix. We charged nothing for the actions; firstly because we are good samaritans, but secondly, we were partly to blame for the destruction, even if there was nothing we could have done about it. We had rented a caravan, similar to my parent's, on our side near the workshop, as we basically have set up home here.
Although we agreed to help the population out, we never thought it would be this tiring, and often had us going to sleep late all worn out. I thought that it was time for a change. It was on the next Monday in which I hatched a plan.
It was early in the day when I put it into motion. "Hey Nya?" I asked, looking over to her general direction. Someone brought in an air conditioning unit that they wanted fixing, as it was due to become summer soon. Which reminds me to get one for this area before we overheat.
She stopped poking around the wiring to look up, screwdriver in hand, a tired look on her face. Tired, but still beautiful. "Yes Jay? Do you need anything?" her voice was lined with impatience: either because she had been working on it for a while, or that she just wanted a break from all the repairing. Most likely both. Still, more reason to continue the plan.
"Well, I was wondering, if you would like to go on a date this weekend?" I asked cheerfully, hoping to sway her with the tone. We have been doing this for like forever, and it's time we thought about ourselves for once.
She kept working on the wires. "Jay, you know we can't, we have all of those electronics to fix." without looking away from her project she pointed with her screwdriver to the pile of electronics that have been dropped off. It seems that everyone thinks they can dump all of the items they have on us, with no thought that it all has to be managed by two small inventors, and sometimes with help from one's parents.
I am really lucky to have my parents, since they have been so kind to lend us an area in the scrapyard for our own endeavours, as well as helping out sometimes. It also gave me a thought.
After a few minutes of silence, I excused myself from the work. Nya just gave a nod. I walked over to my parents side of the junkyard, and knocked on the door. A few seconds past, before my mother opened the door, looking concerned. "Jay, dearie, what's wrong?" she asked. No turning back now.
"Well, I was wondering if you and pa would be able to.. - keep an eye on the electronics while me and Nya go on a date this saturday?" My voice was shaky, anxiously awaiting her answer.
"Why of course dearie, anything for you two." She said, my father coming into view. "We'll take care of a few of the electronics while you're out as well son." My father said to me. I was ecstatic on the inside. I hugged the both of them at the same time. "Thank you," I said cheerfully to them. "It's alright son, you have helped a lot of people recently. You two deserve it."
Shortly after, I walked back to the pop-up repair shop, whistling along with a tune in my head, where Nya had repaired the air conditioning, and had started work on a fridge from the pile. She looked up as she heard me enter the area, a small smile on her face.
I walked around to her, and hugged her from behind. She gave a small squeak of surprise, before relaxing into it.
"You sure about that date on the weekend?" I asked her, her shoulders dropping a slight bit.
"We can't Jay, "she mentioned again, slightly more irritated this time, "we have to get these done, as well as we need to keep an eye on the stuff, just in case someone tries to take it all, and-"
"What if, my parents said they would keep an eye on the stuff, as well as do some to help us while we are out." I intervened, turning her around to face me. Her eyes lit up at this. "Come on Nya, we have been working so hard on these, and I think we should have a day to ourselves." The smile on my face was slowly being mirrored on hers. It was almost like a staring contest.
Finally, she looked away with a chuckle escaping her lips, then sighing. "Alright, I guess we can have the day off. What day?"
"Saturday"
She smiled at that; not one out of habit, but a genuine smile. "Alright, I guess we deserve a day to ourselves after all this. What do you have in mind?" She looked genuinely interested in what I had in mind. However, I decided to tease her a bit.
"You'll see."

The rest of the week came and went, mainly doing fixing, stopping only to sleep, and to eat. However on Friday night we both decided to clock in for the night earlier than usual, so that we could make the most of the day tomorrow.
However, in the morning, I woke up early, preparing the day to come. I snuck past Nya quietly, making sure to not wake her up; She is a light sleeper. She has to be dealing with four teenage boys and the threat of the world ending looming over us. I had to make a few... preparations for the day ahead.
It was nine o clock by the time that I had finished the preparations, and Nya just happened to wake up. I entered the main part of the caravan, to see her eating some toast, still in her pajamas. She gave a cheerful smile. "Hey Jay, you ready for today?"
"Yep, and I think you are going to enjoy it too." Jay replied.
"You going to tell me what we are doing yet?"
"Not a chance."
She gave an overexaggerated sigh, before smiling once again. I know that she usually hates surprises, but can tolerate them when it comes to me. I smiled at the thought,
"Fine, but what time are we leaving?"
A fair question, and one I didn't think of. I came up with something on the spot.
"About 10, and make sure to dress casually."
I shortly left the room to make sure that I was prepared, by putting on a black shirt, a blue coat and some blue jeans, then sat in the small living room, waiting for Nya.
At around 9:55, she appeared out of her room wearing a dark red top, and some blue jeans also; her infamous gold and red Samurai X bracelet accompanying it. I gasped a little, in response she did a little giggle.
"You ready then?" I asked.
"Always will be," she responded, linking her arms with mine.

Our location was to the cinema. It wasn't a fancy place, just somewhere we could go together. Usually I would have picked a Starfarer movie, however she hasn't been clear whether she likes them or not, so I chose a romance-comedy movie, called "Her."
On the way in, we decided to get ourselves a drink each, as well as get a big bucket of popcorn to share between us. We got into the screening room five minutes before the movie began, and got some seats near the back.
Throughout the movie, we stayed quite close together, with me putting my arm around Nya, and her snuggling into my chest, popcorn between us. About halfway through the movie, we both reached for some popcorn, and accidentally brushed each other's hands. We both pulled away quickly, a blush forming on both our faces. We both turned to look at each other, slowly edging closer to each other, before our lips melted into each other. We both closed our eyes, drowning out the sounds of the movie. All we could focus on were each other, and how good they felt against each other.
After that, we got back to watching the film, which we were thoroughly enjoying.
After the film, we left the cinema, and decided to go for a walk. We eventually reached a park, in which I had been slowly guiding us towards. We walked along the gravel paths until we came to a hill, in which we climbed.
At the top, there was a blanket laid out, with a basket laid out. I inwardly thanked Kai for coming over earlier, collecting the food, and setting this up for us let than an hour ago. He understood the pressure that we had been going through on the phone earlier the week, and decided to help them. I looked over to one of the bushes where I could see a faint outline of a person. I gave them a thumbs up, and they returned it, before backing away, and leaving.
"Woah," I was pulled out of it by my Sweet Samurai looking over the stuff, "how did you organise this?"
I wasted no time, "Not saying." She looked a bit disappointed, but perked up when I pulled her to the blanket. We both sat down and got the food and drinks out of the basket: Some ham sandwiches, crisps, a bottle of juice and some plastic cups, fruit, and a small cake for us to share. I had help with the last one from my parents.
"Wow, this looks amazing," she awed, looking more and more precious by the minute.
We ate in relative silence, sharing the food and drinks with each other. We finally got to the cake, in which we cut into small slices, and ate off of them. I put aside one of my slices to give to Kai later on when I see him again. The taste of the cake was amazing.
"Wow, this cake is honestly, the second best thing I have ever tasted" I told Nya, her face forming into confusion.
"Really? What's the best thing that you have ever tasted then?" She asked, while I started the smirk.
"You" was all the reply I gave. Her face immediately went tomato red, before looking down, trying to hide her blush. "I-- I--" she stammered out, seemingly unable to get any words out. I thought I had gone too far, before a soft pair of lips came crashing down onto me, the intensity toppled me over, and her in tow. Our kiss ended prematurely with her lying down next to me, both of us laughing.
"That was unfortunate," she wheezed out between chuckles, then stopped and became more shy, "but I think you taste...- amazing as well" she nearly whispered the last bit, but I had grown more confident.
"So you won't mind if I do..... - This?" I pulled her into a hug, as well as a deep kiss. She sighed in satisfaction, and relaxed into it. After a while, we slowly pulled away.
"Well, I think this went well, whaddya say we head home and enjoy the rest of the day to ourselves?" I asked.
"I'd like that." She replied.
We packed our things into the basket, and headed out of the park, hand in hand, towards the Junkyard.

Well a happy one for the story. Sorry this took longer than the others. The inconsistent schedule will be a thing, but I hope you have enjoyed it!
I love hearing opinions, and wish you a good day!
Although this was fun to write in a pure first person, without switching, I wouldn't expect much of it. How did you like the one sided first person? Let me know.
Nothing really left to say here, so See ya laters, Alligators.
