(Heads up, I consider Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitsu to be over with S10. I consider the rest of the seasons to be soft reboots. Heck, some countries list the recent seasons as 'Ninjago: Reboot!')

Theory time I guess! I've wanted to share this one for quite a long time!

So far, there are three canon separate timelines in Ninjago, as far as I know.

1) When they went back in time in S2 (aka the one where Nya wasn't kidnapped by the Skeletons and instead by the Ninja)

2) When Nya died

3) I guess you could count the pirates coming to the future in S2?

I will completely ignore the first and third one, as they mainly were fillers.

So... Let's see.

In season 5, the Ninja saw their future reflections. Nya was there, but Cole wasn't. And, let's verify that he was supposed to be dead in the future (more on that later).

But, of course, their current designs don't really match up with their supposed future ones (although it COULD be possible that they would just change their designs again, which I kind of hope they will).

Anyways, my theory is that their future reflections depicted the universe where Nya died. Keep in mind that that timeline is also the original one. The end of S6 depicts an alternate timeline from the rest.

I believe that it was supposed to match up with the writer's original plan for the end of Ninjago in S7.

Tommy, one of the head writers of the show had tweeted a long time ago that the show was supposed to end in S7, with Cole dying and the Ninja being seen with their kids in their future reflections.

Of course, we all know that the team would never let any main member of the team be dead at any other point other than the finale of a season, so they obviously couldn't permanently kill Nya.

I think that in the Nya's dead universe, the Ninja aren't able to stop Nadakhan and Nya dies. I think that since we know that at least one of the time twins had been lurking around in the museum at the time, they would be willing to help the Ninja defeat Nadakhan. But then, they will betray them and the whole plot of S7 starts, with Nya dead. They find their parents, blah blah blah, until the very end.

I think that instead of the whole time chase scene, there would be something similar, only this time relating to their future reflections. I think that Cole will be more involved in the fight and that they would make a 'soul for a soul' type of deal. Cole in exchange for Nya since he's already a ghost. They could even have an 'I owed you one' line with Jay and Cole.

Anyways, Nya comes back, Cole dies, Wu doesn't become a baby and they continue their lives till the future reflections come along and they have kids. And then, end of the show.

Basically that. Just something small I had in mind....!
