Two young children ran through the field outside of their house. They were chasing after a golden butterfly, fluttering around their home. Their parents had been playing with them, but had gone inside to talk with a friend that had visited. The two eventually made it to the front yard where the butterfly fluttered around them in a friendly manner. The boy happily watched his little sister's silvery-gray eyes light up in joy as the butterfly landed on her nose. He giggled, ruffling the little girl's jet black hair with brotherly adoration in his reddish-brown eyes. After a few more hours of playing around, the children's stomachs grumbled in hunger. "Let's go ask Mom and Dad to make us some food!" The older suggested. The younger smiled and nodded. They ran into their house to look for their parents, but they were nowhere to be found....

"Mommy? Daddy?" The tiny girl called, searching her parent's room. "Mom? Dad?" The boy asked, his shaggy brown hair falling in front of his eyes a bit. They quickly searched their house, but there was no one but the two children in the house. They met in the kitchen, growing concerned. "Where do you think Mommy and Daddy are?" The younger whimpered sadly. "I don't know..." The boy mumbled, his eyes darting down. He look up at his sister's face and noticed tears welling in her eyes. "I-I'm sure that they just went to get some food or tea or something!" He stammered, trying to keep her calm. She nodded, trusting her older brother. "Th-they'll come back soon, right?" She asked worriedly. He nodded, smiling encouragingly. She smiled a bit and wiped away the spiking tears.

"And until they get back, I'll protect you, Nya! Because that's what big brothers are supposed to do!" The boy promised. The little girl, Nya, smiled softly. "And I'll always be there to protect you, Kai!" She responded to her brother. The boy, Kai, smiled and hugged his sister. She hugged back, feeling protected in her older brother's embrace.
