(Season 9, AU where Lloyd gets caught)

"You realize you were basically a child soldier right?" Harumi questioned, Garmadon had insisted on her trying to turn Lloyd.

Lloyd laughed in annoyance, somehow he always found himself in this situation, captured and chained to either the floor or a chair. "What, I turn nineteen and lose the fact that I'm a child soldier?" He joked, irritation in his voice.

"You don't seem surprised."

"I know how I was raised Harumi. It was never the best circumstance for a child to be in."

"How old were you when you became a ninja?"

"Depends on what timeline you mean."

"... Timeline?"

"My friends all started out in a different timeline, they only know of it because they followed my father back in time and tried to prevent alterations that would have lead to me never becoming a ninja."

"This time line. The relevant one."

"About fifteen."

Harumi paused. She'd known that, but it still seemed off. There were almost no records of where Lloyd had been before joining his uncle. "What about before that?" She could use any old trauma to turn him.

"Darkly's Boarding School."

She stopped walking around the room. Darkly's, the school that once taught young boys to be evil. "How the hell did you go from a boarding school for bad boys that trains children to become evil, to being a ninja who tries to save the world!?"

Lloyd shrugged. "I wasn't bad enough." He chuckled "I, and I quote, lack the immoral ambitions to be one of tomorrow's evil masterminds. It didn't matter how hard I tried to be evil, it was never in my nature. It took them nearly eleven years to actually go about throwing me out."

"I doubt you immediately went to your uncle, what about after you were thrown out?"

"I wanted to prove I could be evil." There was a pause. "Oh wait, you actually want me to infodump my problems so you can use them to try to turn me evil, don't you?"

"I-"

"I don't care honestly. I mean Nya and Kai did keep telling me I needed to either talk this stuff out with one of them or find a therapist to talk to. So this is probably healthier then bottling it up until the day I die." He shrugged again. "Do you want me to keep infodumping or are you good?"

Harumi blinked a few times. "Keep talking, I'll find something sooner or later."

"This next part will actually probably make you mad." Lloyd chuckled awkwardly. "I uh, heh, I freed the serpentine..."

The room went silent. Harumi glared at Lloyd. "So you were quite literally the cause of my parents' deaths."

"Yeah.... I really am sorry. I'm surprised my friends ever forgave me either. I got Cole hypnotized, Jay's parents got bit by some fangpyre, and Kai got venomari spit in his eyes."

"Why did you free them?" Harumi asked angrily.

"I wanted revenge." Harumi froze. "My mom abandoned me at Darkly's when I was four, by uncle banished my father to the underworld, all Darkly's did was hurt me. What else could I do but hate the world?"

"And yet here you are." Harumi glared. "A so called hero of Ninjago, trapped by the villain you once called your father." Harumi grabbed the front of Lloyd's shirt. "The people of Ninjago don't know if you're dead or alive, and if you don't join Lord Garmadon, he will have you publicly executed."

Lloyd looked Harumi dead in the eye.

"Then I guess I'll die."
