(Show, uh, Lloyd being raised on Chen's Island Part 2??? I guess????)

"Hello? Kai?" Someone whispered on the balcony of Lloyd's room.

"Jay, I believe this is the wrong room." Another voice rang quietly.

"Shoot, hope I didn't wake them u-" Lloyd switched on a lamp.

"Y'know, usually when someone's breaking in here, it's me coming back from walking around in the woods at midnight." Lloyd spoke from where he stood, a bo staff in his hand. "Who are you people?"

"Uh... Elemental Masters?"

"Who. Are. You?"

"I uh, I'm Jay? That's Cole, and that's Zane? I dunno what else you want me to say????"

"Why're you here?"

"... Do you mean on the island, or in your room?"

"..... Both I guess I dunno?"

"Uh, On the island for the whole tournament of elements thing, and in your room because, we're looking for our other friend's room?"

Before Lloyd could speak there was a knock at the door. "Lloyd?" It was his father.

"Hide. All of you." Lloyd whispered quickly before grabbing a book, making sure it was rightsize up, flipping to a random page, then plopping into a chair. He glanced to make sure the group had hidden.

"Son, I need to talk to you."

"What do you want?"

Garmadon entered the room. "I know you're mad, okay, I understand that, but you need to know that I'm doing my best to figure out how to be a good father okay? I have been for years, it's difficult." Garmadon began. "And I know you want to go to the mainland, but it's not safe, and I'm trying to protect you."

"From what?" Lloyd questioned. "Just give me something, a possible reason that I'd be in danger if I leave this island?"

"There are so many reasons-"

"Give me one!" Lloyd spoke quickly, knowing he wouldn't be heard if he didn't interrupt. "One good reason as to why I've never been allowed to leave this island! As to why I've been, been trapped here my entire life!" He exclaimed, irritation slipping into his voice.

"Don't use that tone with me young man."

"All I want is one good reason! Name one reason why I shouldn't want to leave this island!"

"That's enough!" Garmadon yelled, Lloyd froze. "You're grounded. You're not to leave this room. Do you understand?"

"Dad-"

"Do. You. Understand."

Lloyd nodded. His father left, and Lloyd heard the door lock as he did. He listened, and waited until his father's footsteps were gone before sitting on the floor. "I may as well just give up on trying to get him to see it the way I do." Lloyd muttered quietly.

"Holy shit." A voice mumbled from behind the open closet door. "That is, wow." The group that had been hiding walked out of Lloyd's closest. "He was pissed."

The one in white had a frown on his face. "Your name, it's Lloyd, Correct?"

"Uh, yeah?" Lloyd answered quietly.

"Does he, speak like that to you, often?"

"Um..." Lloyd thought, "Not that specifically, sometimes there's curse words." The blond mumbled. "He only acts like that 'cus he cares though, he just doesn't want me to get hurt."

"And his that what he's told you?"

"... Yeah?"

"Lloyd, how often does this sort of thing happen?"

"Uh..." Lloyd thought. "I dunno, it mostly only happens when I voice my opinions around him, or ask if I can go to Ninjago."

"According to, well, hundreds of psychology articles, he... He is gaslighting you."

Lloyd chuckled quietly. "No he's... No he's not."

"How often does he tell you that you are wrong when your opinion differs from his?"

"... Most of the time?"

"Does he lie to you, and act like there's no problem with it?"

"He did a few times when I was younger?"

"We've just seen him heavily abuse his power over you as your father."

"I wouldn't say he-"

"Does he ever apologize to you Lloyd?"

"I... He..." The blond looked over at the door. "No... No he doesn't."

"Zane, c'mon man, calm down, that's just how dads are." A black haired teen shrugged as he stood next to the one named Jay.

"Cole your father is no better." Zane pointed out. "He didn't show you affection unless it had to do with dance until you told him you were a ninja." Zane looked back at Lloyd. "There is no other way to see it, Lloyd. Though to be fair, it is possible for him to be doing so unintentionally. Many parents do so. Some with their child's grades, and more by placing the blame on the child, never believing that they themself are at fault, others refuse to allow their child to leave an island that isn't on any maps." (This sort of thing doesn't just happen in Parent-Child relationships, it also happens in romantic relationships.)

"Zane we need to get going and find Kai, so we can figure out what Chen's up to." Jay spoke up.

Lloyd raised an eyebrow. "Whaddya mean?"

"Do you... Not know what happened yesterday?"

"I was told to stay out of the way and away from the elemental masters while they were here. I've been here since yesterday morning."

-------

Lloyd's eyes lit up when he saw Ninjago City in the distance. "Is that-" He began.

"Yeah, that's Ninjago City." Kai, the friend the ninja had been looking for before, smiled. "Congrats Lloyd, welcome to Ninjago City." He grinned as he landed his elemental dragon at the docks.

Lloyd looked around excitedly as Zane spoke to Kai. "I've contacted Sensei and Nya, they are on their way to get us in the Bounty. Sensei will be quite surprised by who we found on the island."

"No kidding tin can. We found the nephew he said disappeared."

Lloyd stopped looking around before looking to Kai. "What do you mean?"

"Our sensei's your uncle. Your Dad's brother. According to him, you disappeared when you were like a year and a half old."

"That's why he never let me leave." Lloyd muttered. "He didn't want me to find out I wasn't supposed to be there in the first place."
