Chapter 8: Nothing built can last forever
It has only been an hour since his demise happened. Sometimes Harumi begins to wonder if it's all a dream. It seemed too unrealistic to just happen. Her idol would never do that..however, she summoned Lord Garmadon. The king of shadows, lord of destruction...why is the white haired girl surprised? She should have seen coming and she still didn't accept that fact that her idol, the one that saved Ninjago from the devourer is a merciless ruthless monster that only wishes to make his son bow before him and possibly join them. Harumi felt a little bit angry that Garmadon would rather waste his time on getting Lloyd than to actually rule over Ninjago. If he was just a stranger in her eyes, she would kindly kick his four arms off the throne and rule the city instead. But, Harumi just has too much respect for that man.
Suddenly, she heard a loud knock by her door. The quiet one jumped out of her bed and wiped any remaining tears left in her black eyes showing immense despair. She never thought that she would become close with the robot she built three years ago. She walked towards the door and she froze as her shaky palm touched the cold doorknob. The doorknob was as cold as Garmadon. She felt her eyes fill up with even more tears and felt no strength to open the door. Instead, she dropped to her knees and her side was pressed up against the metallic door. She began to sob loudly as she tried not to shake too much despite the pain crawling around her heart. Like a spider...ready to cut their prey open, in this case was her heart. "Woah woah woah! what's going on there? " she heard a loud-concerned call from behind the door. She instantly recognized who it was. It was her General Ultra Violet.
Harumi easily replied with only her sobs. She felt slightly embarrassed that she was breaking down in a time like this but the pain was too much. She was already broken and now it just adds more to her. She knows that one day, she'll break out of the blue and leave this world. Will her generals care? or...will Garmadon even turn his back and notice she's gone? "I'm coming in! Alright? " Ultra Violet tapped on the metallic door to give her a warning. Harumi without hesitation, moved to the center of the room and crawled up in a ball. Once Ultra Violet saw her current state, she couldn't help but give a sad look. "Quiet one..." she whispered. Almost in a snap, Harumi raised her hand in a 'stop' gesture. "I-I'm fine. You are dismissed for the day. " she still kept her role as Second-in command even though it was not the time for that. Ultra Violet walked over to the girl and grabbed her shoulders.
"You are certainly not fine! What the heck happened to you? " she snapped worriedly. Harumi, being the stubborn quiet one didn't reply. "Quiet one..." Ultra's eyebrows narrowed. "Don't make me bring Killow into this..." she threatened, coming closer to her. Harumi sneered hearing that. "Do it. I dare you." at that, she brought her head back down to her knees and stayed quiet. Obviously annoyed by that, Ultra Violet stormed out of the second in command's chambers and went out to find the second general.

Killow was in his room, looking out the window. He frowned at the sight of Mr. E's bike parked outside the tower. He couldn't feel any more pathetic today. "Ugh, why must I be such a coward? Why couldn't I just admit that I brought the S.O.G to failure once again?" he accidentally said out loud. To his surprise, he heard a light chuckle behind them. "Don't beat yourself about it." Ultra Violet smiled sadly as she was leaned against the door. Killow turned around and faced her. "Seriously though. I may look intimidating but deep inside. I'm a coward." he looked down sadly. Instead of Ultra Violet trying to convince him that he's not, she just kept chuckling and rolled her eyes. "Aren't we all?" She moved closer to him. "If we weren't then we wouldn't need Garmadon as our emperor. We are able to rule Ninjago ourselves. " she gave a wicked tone.
"Yeah right and the quiet one would probably be the empress and supreme ruler of us all. " Killow interrupted. Ultra didn't seem to amused. "At least the quiet one isn't a cold blooded merciless monster. She's in her senses so it's most unlikely that she breaks down in the middle of her reign-" she stopped to remember what just happened. "Yeah about that, forget it. Harumi is breaking down right now." she bit her lip nervously. Killow's eyes widened as he walked out the room and into the quiet one's chambers. He felt his heart drop as Ultra's Violet's claim about her current state was indeed correct.
"Quiet one?" Killow started. Harumi narrowed her eyebrows. "W-We can try rebuilding him..right? Right? " she pleaded as she clung onto the ground. Ultra Violet's jaw dropped. "Are you kidding me? Our dark lord has got him badly! " she exclaimed. "Even if we did try to rebuild him, it's to no avail.." she looked down. "Hey, I didn't expect you out of all people to cry over a robot." Killow joked, trying to lighten the mood. Ultra Violet was about to punch him the arm since that's clearly something he shouldn't say to their leader. But to their surprise, Harumi laughed for a good 5 minutes.
"Me? Cry? I'm just upset that I had to waste countless of nights, trying to build that robot. No sleep...for weeks!" She whined. Killow and Ultra Violet looked at each other before laughing themselves. Laughter filled the room for a few minutes until Harumi wiped the face paint off her face. "Seriously though, I'll miss Mr. E, he was a terrific General." She smiled looking up at the ceiling. Ultra and Killow nodded before the purple coded General went over to the quiet one's drawer and pulled out a pallet of fresh red paint. "Here, you should put this back on before Garmadon sees you." She handed it over to Harumi. In which the white haired girl gladly took it and started applying it on. "You know that I'm not forced to wear this right? I just want to, for one, fashion, two, to look intimidating."

Meanwhile, by the resistance base. The elemental masters, Misako and Mystaké were all discussing what their next course of action was. "I say we just bust inside that tower and knock Garmadon off his throne! "Nya argued, slamming her triton onto the worktable. The old woman laughed. "Easy now, dearie. I get that you want to get straight to the point. But you've always got to remember, that every battle needs a strategy. " she tried to calm Nya down. The master of water took a deep breath and glanced at Jay, who gave her a reassuring smile. Hopefully, she didn't make a fool out of herself.
"Ok...does anyone have a plan? " Cole started before he looked around the table. Then back at the nindroid. "Zane?" he suggested. The master of ice simply shook his head. "I'm calculating all the possible outcomes for this particular ambush, i sense 0/5 are gonna be good endings. " he told the bad news.
Lloyd looked down. "Wow, I really expected this to work. " he said a bit bummed out. But Zane tried to pull off a smile to comfort him. "I guess we're a bit outnumbered..." he chuckled humourlessly. After saying that, Dareth came in. "Don't worry folks, with me by your side, i assure you, we won't fail. " he got into his confident pose and gave in a victorious smirk, despite the battle just beginning. Tox and Karloff laughed in the background. "Aw that's sweet, mud boy. " he nudged him on the shoulder before walking off. "You're joking right? " Nya's eye twitched hearing that. Dareth played with his fingers a bit. "Well, yes it was meant to be sarcasm...but at the same time I kinda want it to be true..." he admitted shamefully. That just made the other elemental masters except the six original ninjas plus Skylor laugh at more. Karloff felt like he was gonna explode due to laughter.
"You? Help save the day? That's a long shot, mud bud. " he mocked once again but Lloyd stoped him right there. Clearly annoyed with the master of metal's behaviour so far. "Hey, who said that a hero needs powers? " he asked the man. In which, he just backed away, point taken. Jay stepped in and shut his eyes. "Besides, he already helped save the world from Nadakhan the gjin. " he said confidently. The other ninja looked at him weirdly, including Kai. "Uh Jay? When was that? " the fire ninja asked the lightening ninja. That just made Nya smile the slightest. Jay scratched the back of his head. "Uh you know what...forget it.." he stayed silent after that. Dareth's frown grew even more noticeable. He just wanted to be like them. He wanted to be a hero too. But Karloff did make a point. His chances of saving Ninjago was in a long shot. Because who needs him when there's already the ninja and the elemental masters?
He would just get thrown in the mud. Unlike the ninja who gets to have their happy end.

He stepped outside and sighed to himself. "Face it Dareth, Karloff's right. You aren't special. " he let the negativity sink inside of him. Even the sky seems to approve as he spotted a dark cloud coming by their side of the town. No birds were out today and the grass looked dead as usual. He let a tear roll down his cheek as he sniffled silently. Why couldn't he just fit in? It was already kind enough that the ninja sometime ask for him to help them with their missions from time to time but he just wanted to make a dent into the people's lives. He wanted to matter in their lives and maybe say: "Oh look! It's Dareth, the saviour of Ninjago! ". He sighed again as he let out a small muffled sentence. "A guy can dream right? " he chuckled at himself.
"Yeah actually. Dreams are boring. It's best to make them happen." He heard a voice behind him. Dareth instantly jumped and blushed in embarrassment. "Gah! Don't sneak up on people like that! " he yelled. The figure sped his way through to the brown dressed man. "Sorry, it's a habit of mine. "Griffin Turner apologized. Dareth just simply put his hand to his chest to try and calm down. "Is anyone else with you? " he asked cautiously. In which Turner nodded and pointed at Neuro behind a trash can. The master of the mind waved awkwardly. Dareth became flustered and pointed at him. "You! why did you say anything?! " he growled jokingly. Neuro laughed and answered with the following: "I'm the master of the mind. Not the master of blabbering. I'm supposed to stay quiet so I could search through your thoughts." He explained his purpose. The powerless and rather red, individual rushed to the door. "Aw come on, you could have warned me before you two clearly spied on me! "
Both of them shrugged and didn't answer to his question. Which gave Dareth to attempt to go back inside. But Turner beat him through it and slapped the door shut. "Can you stay a little longer? I want to get to know you, 'brown ninja' "
Despite Dareth having a bad day. It seemed like he will have a good friendship with Turner, the master of speed and Neuro, the master of the mind.

A/N Here's Chapter 8! And yes for any MCSM fans, the title is based off it. It's literally the first sentence ever said in the whole beginning of that game. Now as for the little start of this chapter. If you got pretty annoyed that Harumi would cry over a robot's death. Yeah I wasn't proud with that bit, but I needed the character development. I know in the show, she was just horrified and didn't care for the rest of the season. But i always imagined her to kinda cry over it, but it was just off-screen. I know what you're thinking. "In COH, does Harumi care about Mr. E?". *takes a deep breath* Yes and no. Yes because she really started to get to know him and even considered him as friend. No, since she was mostly upset about the parts, bolts and wires going to waste. I have a headcanon that child Harumi built Mr. E and didn't have sleep for the whole week. She also used materials from the royal palace to build him and now seeing her invention destroyed, just made her feel horrible for wasting those materials. Moving on to the final thing, the release date of Chapter 9: Radioactive? I'd say, Friday or Saturday. Alright that's all, thanks for reading and cya!
