Miku P.O.V

Nya was looking at the digital version of the Fangblade and looked like she was in deep in thought

"They got the first one, but there are three more, and we just need one to stop Pythor. They have the map and we don't. So the question remains, how are we gonna find them first?" Nya asked and Cole was looking at the blade like he was trying to remember something

"I still can't get over the fact that you were the Mysterious Samurai. Is anyone else blown away like I am?" Jay asked, and Crystal and I rose our hands

"We're over that. Can we move on?" Kai asked sounding agitated

"Someone's a little hot under the collar" Jay said

"It appears his impatience it because he has not found his inner peace and unlocked his full potential, like you and I have, Jay" Zane said

"Great observation Mr. Roboto, but Cole hasn't found it either" Kai said

"I got it!" Cole shouted

"You've unlocked it?! Oh! Why am I the only one?!" Kai started to freak out, and Crystal walked towards Kai and gave a good slap on the face

"Did it help?" Crystal asked

"I needed that. Thanks" Kai said

"So, Cole, did you remember something when you looked at the Fangblade?" I asked

"I have actually. I recognized where I saw the Fangblade from. I have a picture of it" Cole said as he ran out of the control room to get the picture

"Oh. Ha ha, is that it? Heh" Kai looked embarrassed

"It's okay, Kai. I'm sure you'll be able unlock your true potential" I said

"Thanks, Miku" Kai said as he messed up my hair

Then a minute later, Cole came back with a photo album

"I got it" Cole opened the album and it showed the Fangblade but as a trophy

"That's it!" Jay said as he took the album and we gathered to the photo

"Back where I grew up, there's this big competition, where every year the winner gets the Blade Cup. My dad won it multiple times" Cole said

"You never told us your dad was an accomplished athlete. What sport?" Zane asked

"Oh. He's a... Uh... a Blacksmith" Cole answered

"Nothing wrong with that. My father was a blacksmith too. But I've never heard of a competition-"

"That's because he's not a 'blacksmith' blacksmith. He's a Royal Blacksmith" Cole said as he turned the page and showed Cole's dad holding the trophy, and the guys started snickering

"That's your dad?" Jay asked trying his best to not laugh

"But how did the Fangblade become a trophy?" Kai asked

"Well, supposedly, the Blade Cup was made by this guy who collected priceless artifacts. His name was something like... Dutch? No, Clutch! Clutch Powers! Anyway, it gets passed on to each year's winner" Cole said

"Who has now?" Zane asked

"I don't know. I haven't talked to my father in years" Cole said looking down

"Years?! Cole you haven't talked to your dad in years?!" I said with a shocked face

"Should I arrange a phone call?" Crystal asked

"You can't!" Cole shouted "He thinks I'm in Ninjago City  training at Marty Openheimer School of Performing Arts. He wanted me to follow in his footsteps, but when I couldn't sing or dance... Well, I... I ran away. When he sees I can't dance, he'll know that I've been lying in all the letter I've been sending him" Cole admitted

"He doesn't know you're ninja?" Zane asked

"What, you're gonna creak some jokes that my old man wears a tutu?" Cole asked sounding agitated

"They're not gonna do that. Unless they want to eat your duck chowder to shut their mouths" I said with a cheerful smile

"Now you're starting to sound like Garmadon" Jay said sounding scared

"A-Anyway, if we're gonna have any chance at getting that Fangblade before they do, we'd better get our own act in tune" Kai said

"So, does that mean we're going to see Cole's dad?" I asked

"Yep. Alright, kiddos, go get ready and make sure to tell Akatsuki too" Kai said and I nodded as I left the control room

"Crystal, do you know way to make your appearance less robotic?" Jay asked

"I do in fact" Crystal pressed a button on her arm and her robotic features changed into human features "Is this better?"

"Way better" Jay said

Cole P.O.V Ninjago City

Once we were above the residence area, we all jumped off the Bounty while the kids held onto us, our weapons changed into vehicles for a moment and changed back into weapons as we landed on the ground. Then I opened the case to put all of our weapons in

"All right, hand them over" I said

"Ah ah, but no mortal shall possess all four" Jay joked

"Very funny" I said as I rolled my eyes

"Wanna remind me again why we can't keep our weapons?" Kai asked

"So that way Cole's dad doesn't find out that he's a ninja Kai" Akatsuki said while patting himself down to remove the dirt

"Like Akatsuki said, and I don't feel like making up excuses on why I'm carrying a giant scythe around" I said as I started walking to my house

"You look cool by the way Akatsuki" I heard Miku say to Akatsuki, I turned around for a moment and saw Akatsuki's cheeks turn a bit red

"T-Thanks... Y-You l-look nice too..." Akatsuki said while stuttering a bit as he notices Miku's dress and straw hat

"Thanks!" Miku said with a smile, and Akatsuki started speed walking to catch up with me. I couldn't help but chuckle

"How do I look big brother?" Crystal asked Zane

"You look cute Crystal" Zane said with a smile

"Just remember the plan, we find out who has the Fangblade trophy, we snatch it, and then get the heck out of town" I said as we stood in front of my house

"But... Don't you want to spend time with your dad, Cole?" Miku asked before I knocked on the door

"Yeah, you said you haven't seen your dad in years, so the least you can do is spend some quality time with him" Akatsuki said

"It's... complicated" I said "Let's get this over with so we can leave" I was about to knock, but Crystal rang the doorbell and quickly ran behind Zane

"Welcome" The doorbell ringed the tone

Then my dad opened the door

"Son! You used the doorbell!" My dad walked out and hugged me "Come on in, son. It's been forever. Who did you bring? A quartet? The next generation of performers? Come in, come in! I've got a kettle of lemon honey tea on the stove now" My dad said as we all entered the house

"Crystal, why did you ring the doorbell?" I asked Crystal

"Because I was curious of how it'll sound, and I like the sound" Crystal answered

Living room

We were in the living room drinking the tea that my served us and the record player was playing some tunes that my dad liked to listen

"Did my son tell you I broke my foot? It was the cha-cha, but I swear the percussionist had it in for me" My dad was about to tell the story, but I stopped him

"No, dad. I didn't tell them about your silly stories" I said

"Silly stories?" My dad looked offended

"What he meant was, we've been busy training the little ones at the... Uh..." Kai forgot the name of the performing arts school

"Uh... the Martha Openheimer. Yeah" Jay said, and the music stops playing and I slapped my forehead

"Martha Openheimer?" My dad looked confused

"What Jay was trying to say is The Marty Openheimer School of Performing Arts" Crystal quickly corrected Jay

"Right. Well, um... See, we have this final research paper we're doing on the history of Ninjago talent, and what we really wanted to know was how can we get our hands on the Blade Cup?" I asked and my dad took a sip of his tea

"You're talking about getting your hands on the Blade Cup? The most prized and heavily guarded award in all of Ninjago, the symbol of excellence in harmony and grace? You can't just get it, you must earn it. You have to exhibit style. Perfect pitch. Push the boundaries of artistic license and win this year's Ninjago Talent Show!" My dad said

"Um... Perhaps there's an easier way?" Zane said

"Is this why you came? You knew I was injured, and when my quartet insisted we shan't go on, you four including the young ones have come to take our place! Ha ha! Ingenious! My son, bringing forth the next evolution of the Royal Blacksmiths! Let me hear the sweet, sweet sound of harmony" My dad said as he place his hand by his ear

We sang harmony, but we were not in harmony. Even the kids think we're bad cause they immediately covered their ears

"How about the little ones?" My dad asked them

"Harmony~" I felt my jaw drop to the ground

'They sing better than the guys!' I thought to myself

"Beautiful! This brings a tear to my eye. I must write a song about my feelings" My dad said as he left the room

"How on earth can you guys sing in perfect harmony?" Kai asked

"I was born with a singing voice" Akatsuki said

"I like to sing. It keeps my mind away when Uncle Wu went looking for each of you" Miku said

"I looked through my database and found perfect singing voices that I can use" Crystal said

I sighed cause now there's no way we can leave

Miku P.O.V

Cole's dad was teaching the guys how to sing and dance for the talent show , and I can tell Cole doesn't look too happy

"Okay. From the top. Five, six, seven, eight" Then Cole's dad started playing the piano again

"Bop til you drop"

"Shake it til you break it"

"Move it til you lose it"

"Spin it til you win it"

"Stop! Stop! Ugh! If my ears weren't attached to my head, they'd be running away!" Cole's dad said as he walked towards them "Kai, love the energy, hate the hair. Jay, you're giving a lot, but I need more. Zane, you're like a machine, don't change anything"

I chuckled including Crystal and Akatsuki cause we all know that Zane is a machine

"And Cole, try to act like you wanna be here" Cole's dad said

"He's worst than Sensei Wu" Jay whispered to Kai

"Okay, moving forward. Let's take a look at the big show-stopping climax. Cole, we can't have history repeating itself" Cole's dad said

"Sigh... Dad, it was the Trible Tiger Sashay. I was 7

"What the Trible Tiger Sashay?" I asked

"Only the most difficult dance move ever created" Cole said

"It's true. Many professionals have dared tried, but it's never been successfully completed" Cole's dad said

"Hence, my father thought a 7 year old could, but I ended up falling on my face, humiliating myself and letting my quartet down" Cole said

"If you're going to win, you have to go big! All right, time for a break. Take five. Come along children, it's time for your training" Cole's dad said to me and Akatsuki

"Wait, they can't enter the Talent Show. They're only kids" Cole said

"I guess you didn't hear the news. Talent Show are now allowing children to participate, and I already signed them up as a duo" Cole's dad said

"A duo? What about about Crystal?" Zane asked

"She declined the sign up" Cole's dad said

"Why?" Jay asked

"I... don't do well in front of other people" Crystal said and the guys sweat dropped "I hope you're not disappointed big brother"

"Don't worry, I'm not" Zane said as he patted Crystal's head

Ninjago City Talent show - Nighttime

Akatsuki and I were getting ready for our performance. I was wearing a purple dress with a purple bow. Cole's dad told us we're going first before the ninja and I felt really nervous

'I shouldn't be nervous, but... I'm super nervous!' I thought to myself

"Miku" I turned around and saw Akatsuki wearing a dress shirt with a vest and a pair of black pants "I know you're nervous and so am I, but I'll be there with you. So you're not performing alone" Akatsuki said and I felt my cheeks turn a bit pink

"Miku, Akatsuki" We heard a knock on the door and Cole's dad entered the room, and he looked a bit sad "You two look amazing. I wish you both luck and remember to have fun" Cole's dad said to us as we started leaving the dressing room and started heading to backstage

"Miku! Akatsuki!" We saw Crystal heading towards us "I wish you both luck!"

"Thanks. We're gonna perform next after... Treble Makers?" I said and we immediately covered our ears from the terrible music

"My poison lies over the ocean. My poison lies over the sea. My poison lies over the ocean. Oh, bring back my poison to me" Treble Makers finally finished their singing, and the third judge gave a score of 10 while the other two gave them 6, but the third judge growled at them and they flipped the numbers around making them 9. Then Treble Makers started walking off the stage

"Next up, Miku and Akatsuki!" The MC announced, I took a deep breath and we started walking on the stage

"Ready Akatsuki?" I whispered

"Yeah. Let's do our best" Akatsuki said in a whisper tone and we started to sing

After we finished our performance, we heard loud cheers and applauses. The first two judges scored 10 and the third judge gave us a 9 score, and I also noticed he was crying along with some of the audiences. We started going back to backstage with Crystal rushing towards us and hugged us

"You guys were amazing!" Crystal said with stars trickling in her eyes

"Thanks, but I do have to admit I thought I was gonna faint on stage" Akatsuki said as he scratch the back of his head, and we heard the MC speaking

"And last but not least, The Royal Blacksmith- Uh, hold on. Uh, this just in, there's been a switch. Taking the stage next is Spin Harmony!" The MC announces, and we saw the ninja in their ninja gis and we walked towards them

"If we're gonna do this, I want everyone to see who we are" Cole said

"I have butterflies in my stomach" Zane said

"Aw, come on, that's just nerves" Jay said

"Actually, big brother really does have butterflies" Crystal said as she opened up his chest and butterflies came flying out

"Okay. Glad he got that out of his system" Jay said

"Guys, you should get on stage quick before they think you guys are no shows" Akatsuki said

"Good luck guys!" Both Crystal and I said

Then they finally walked on stage

No One P.O.V

Everyone cheered at Cole's Triple Tiger Sashay

"Oh! He did it! The Triple Tiger Sashay! He's danced the impossible!" The MC said as everyone cheered loud and the two judges scored them 10 and Pythor gave them a 0, but later became a 10 when an arm came out from his mouth "It's a perfect score! Spin Harmony wins the Blade Cup!" Then they brought out the trophy and gave it to Cole as he held up the prize

When the ninja got to backstage, they were tackled to the ground by the children

"You guys were awesome!" Akatsuki said

"Cole, the Triple Tiger Sashay was amazing!" Miku said

"Big brother, you were amazing!" Crystal said, and they got off the ninja so they can get up

"Thank you, you three. I must say I've never felt more alive" Zane said

"Ha ha! We did it!" Jay said

No, Cole did it. Because of you, Ninjago will sleep safely tonight" Kai said

"Thanks, but go on and celebrate without me. Winning doesn't feel the same without my dad being able to-"

"Cole!" Everyone turned around and saw Cole's dad walking towards them

"Dad?"

"I saw it all, son I saw it all" Cole's dad said as he opened his arms and Cole hugged his dad

"You saw me dance?" Cole asked

"More importantly, I saw you fight. Those Serpentine were up to no good, trying to steal the show, and I saw you stand up for what is right. I was wrong. I shouldn't have pushed you so hard to follow in my footsteps. Everyone is born with a special talent inside that's just waiting to get out. And you were born to be a ninja" Cole's dad said as everyone walked closer to the father and son duo

"You're not mad?" Cole asked

"How can I be? My son's a hero" Cole's dad said, and Pythor came slithering in with the fake beard on his face

"Sorry to interrupt your little family reunion, but did you know it's me, Pythor?" Pythor said as he took off the fake beard

"You couldn't fool us, Pythor" Cole said, but...

"Ah! Guys! The third judge was Pythor!" Miku said looking shocked

"What kind of trickery was that?!" Akatsuki asked with a look of surprised

"My scanners did pick up anything during the whole time!" Crystal said

Everyone sweat dropped on their reactions

"Well, except the kids" Cole said

"I didn't want you to miss our big show stopper" Pythor said as the Constrictai hit some of the equipment from above and it started heading towards Cole's dad

"Dad!" Cole rushed in to protect his dad from the falling equipment

"Cole!" Everyone shouted and Pythor used that opportunity to take the trophy that held the Fangblade and slithered away into the shadows

"They took the Fangblade!" Jay said as he coughed as the dust was in everyone's faces

"Cole!" Everyone ran towards where Cole and his dad were buried, and there they saw Cole's scythe glowing

"He's found his true potential" Zane said and Cole started lifting up the equipment as his body glowed. Once he tossed the equipment to the side, he helped his dad up from the rumble

"Wha... What? How did we survive that?" Cole's dad asked and he noticed his son's body was glowing "Son?"

"Cole's found his true potential" Zane said

"His relationship with his father must have been holding him back this whole time" Crystal said

"He's indestructible!" Jay said

"Ugh. Great, so now I really am the only one who hasn't figure out my special power" Kai pouted and Miku patted his back to make him feel better

Then Cole's body was no longer glowing

"Is everyone alright?" Cole asked and he looked at his hands "What just happened?"

"We're all okay, son" Cole's dad said

The next day - Cole's house

Everyone was drinking tea and started talking about last night

"Oh, man. That was really cool!" Jay said

"You found your true potential" Zane said

"I guess the scorecard now reads; Pythor: two Fangblades. Ninja: zero" Jay said as he took a sip of his tea

"Yeah, but all we need is one and there's still two left to find" Cole said

"Who knows, maybe when I unlock my true potential, I'll turn into the Destined Green Ninja" Kai said and everyone laughed

"Keep dreaming Kai" Akatsuki said

"I agree. Your chances of being the Green Ninja is 0.1%. So very little" Crystal said

"Hey!"

"The only thing you're destined for is more inflated ego" Cole said, and his dad walked into the room holding two pictures

"It may not be the trophy, but it sure will look good on my wall" Cole's dad said as he hanged up the picture with the ninja with the trophy and the second one showed Miku, Akatsuki and Crystal before the performance, and everyone loved it "As far as I'm concerned, you're all family now" Cole's dad said as they did a group hug
