And this is my first Ninjago story! I'm very proud of it, I think it's one of my better stories! I hope you'll agree. Just a few things to clarify, you can skip if you wanna!
First off, I made the cover using PicsArt but the art on it belongs to its original artist.
Secondly, I go by the newest season [the hands of time]. If you have not seen it, don't worry, but since the biggest spoiler is major in the plot line you may wanna catch up (it's so worth it!)

-At The New Ninja Temple-
-[Y/N]'s POV-

I flipped through my journal, casting the occasional worried glance Lloyds way. He was working so hard to find Sensai Wu, we all were. Finding solitude in my journal was the only thing I could do right now.

There were old memories hidden within the confines of the old leather book. Pictures, drawings, and of course my thoughts as the days went by with the ninjas. It was, what most people would call, my happy place.

But it wasn't making me happy right now. Every picture, every story, ever time his name was mentioned I couldn't help blame myself. I couldn't save my master, the one who saved me countless times.

I tried to save Sensai Garmadon, that failed. The others keep telling both me and Lloyd we couldn't have done anything, he was gone to protect us. I could've broken those chains, I could've helped but I was scared.

And now Wu. It kinda seems like the worlds out to get me at this point. Not to mention, before what happened to Wu he had found out about my dad..

A snake.

I remember back to when I first met the ninjas. See I never looked like a snake, and still down, it's more my way of speaking and such that betray my lineage. But they didn't figure it out.

Well I thought they did, but then I ease dropped on Aurora- a good friend of mine and an elemental master to, who trains with the ninja- I found out she knew. She was talking to the dragons about it and she petted them, and the words she said still ring in my brain. Though maybe not in a bad way..

"I know we should never trust a snake, and they will never trust a snake. Yet I still trust her. My problem huh guys? But I doubt she'll make me regret it. I trust her"

Actually I had told her much later that I heard her, and ever since I did we have been insanely close. Like sisters.

"Sisters before Misters!" Aurora said patting my head, and only then had I realised I was talking out loud. Thankfully Lloyd wasn't in the room, Misako and us had yet to tell the boys my... scale tail. I know, bad pun, but I couldn't help myself!

Oh goodness, Jays rubbing off on me..

"How are you this fine.. I dunno mornin'? Evenin'?" She asked, and I grinned, shrugging.

She slumped beside me and took the journal into her own hands. Had it been anyone else I would've freaked out and demanded it was given back. But Aurora had practically wrote half of it and knew the majority of my secrets. Some secrets even I didn't know.

"Figure it out yet?" She asked and, sighing, I shook my head. She was talking about my elemental powers. Both Sensais, her and Misako keep telling me there's some sort of element in me, but it was sealed away a long time ago. Auroras almost certain I can get it out, but I'm a bit less sure.

"I don't get it, what do you expect me to be?!" I blurted out in frustration "I'm no green ninja, yet you expect me to be as powerful as Lloyd. I'm no nindroid and yet you expect me to be as logical as Zane-"

"We don't want you to be any of these" Aurora spoke softly, putting a hand on my shoulder.

"Yes you do. Every day you ask the same question. I don't know what you want me to be, but I do get that I'm not it.." I say.

Aurora smiled
"We want you to be a ninja, and you've got that in the bag. We want you to be as rock solid as Cole, but preferably without the terrible cooking." She laughed

"No promises!" I chuckle in response and she hugs me.

"Don't worry, you just do you, alright?"

"Alright" I said. Heck if anyone saw us like that, they'd be surprised to find that Aurora the youngest of all of us. Like Lloyd her age was sped up, but when she was little, not the same time as Lloyd. She never even got to begin childhood.

Like I never got to embrace the good stuff about being a snake. What? It's not all bad, trust me on that.

As Aurora let me go, I waggled my eyebrows. She face planted into the nearest desk, knowing what would come next.

"As rock hard as Cole huh? You do like how strong he is don't you?" I ask playfully.

"I will kill you if you even dare.." she murmured, only barely audible. But I could here her just fine. Oh how playing tricks on her was so fun. She didn't like Cole or any of the ninja, or at least I don't know if she really does, but every time she shows the slightest interest, and me and Jay are ready to prank people.

Why Jay and not Lloyd? Because Jays her cousin, so he's out of the running. Though they aren't blood relatives, they've always treated each other so and have a relationship similar to Nya and Kai.

"JAY GET YOURSELF DOWN HERE LIGHTNING FAST!" I yelled as Aurora tackled me to the ground.

"You really wanna do this? Cause me and Lloyd will get revenge. And Cole will help" she smirked

Another reason why Lloyd doesn't help me prank her, he pranks with her. After all, those two begun this prank war. Cole helping is a recipe for disaster, like the last time he made dinner..

Jay tackled his own cousin off me as I ran off. I had the perfect plan. Phase one, get Cole, phase two-

I was cut of mid-planning by Misako. She was sitting down in the middle of the courtyard sipping tea. Everyone else was with her. And they gave me a look that meant it was serious.

Jay and Aurora obviously saw it too, the moment they arrived they stopped in their tracks, their gaze travelling to me in confusion. Although I was just as confused as them.

"What's going on..?" I asked quietly. Misako looked at me, then towards Lloyd as if wanting her son to speak on her behalf. Which she did, this wasn't gonna be something easy to say. I just got that feeling. You know?

And my feeling proved right as Lloyd finally spoke.
"[Y/N] we... we know what happened last night and we don't want you to worry. We'll help you master these powers and we will stop the.. you know" he shrug smiled. I had zero clue what I'm ninjago he was talking about, so I turned to Misako.

She turned to Aurora however, and out of the corner of my [E/C] eyes, I saw Aurora shakes her head. Misako smiled gently at me, pushing me to sit beside her with little to no force.

"You'll need a seat for this" Misako explained as the other ninja stayed standing. They obviously knew already, I felt slightly behind.

"Last night, we found out what your powers were. You were talking in your sleep, then yelling, and finally-"

"You used your powers" Aurora said, cutting Misako off. I shook my head stubbornly.

"Not possible, I don't have any powers to use." I sighed looking at my hands. That was my fatal flaw, the fact that even when I don't know I'm lying, I'll look at my hands when I am. So my eyes widened as I realised what I was doing, and sighed.

"Well, how bad is it?" I asked turning to her.

"You remember Lord Garmadon? When Sensai Garmadon was evil, but Lloyd managed to defeat him and rid him over the overlord?"

I nod, it wasn't something that could be forgotten easily. I gave her a look, willing her to continue.

"Well the overlord wasn't the whole evil, only half. Half was sealed in it, the other.." she motioned at me, and I couldn't stop my jaw dropping.

No no no no no, this can not be happening. That means..

"My hidden power was meant to stay hidden wasn't it? Now.. there could be another final battle. With me versus Lloyd" I looked over at the blond, he was the last person I wanted to fight.

"We won't let that happen!" Kai said

"Shut it Flame for brains" Aurora deadpans, ignoring the glare he shot her way. Those two were always on edge with each other.

"Says you, Nightmare girl" he chuckled an Aurora rolled her eyes at him, though I could see her clench her fists as she visibly tensed.

"This is no time for another argument" Misako said in a kind tone, and both of them huffed and looked away. Misako sighed once more, today was not going good.

"So, I'm a super villain? No? Still a ninja? Phew" I joked, trying to lighten up the heavy atmosphere. Jay laughed, and Aurora did to. That's what I liked about that duo, they'd laugh at something that wasn't funny to lighten the mood. Just hearing their laughs cheered me up. And I could tell it had the same effect on the others.

"Aurora, Kai and Lloyd will help you power wise, starting tomorrow. Zane will monitor your progress, Nya and me will teach you strategies, and Jay and Cole will handle your daily work around the house. I want you to be focused on this, alright?" Misako said.

I nodded but I couldn't help feeling unsure. Without Sensai Wu no Sensai was there. Okay so there was Lloyd, but he was still in training. Then I remembered. Aurora and Kai. Have to work together.

I'm never gonna master these powers.

They were already glaring at each other, making me sweat drop. They never did tell me how or why they hate each other so much. Though it's not hate, more regret, even a sadness that they hide with anger.

Maybe in these next few training days I can figure it out. But for now, I went straight to my room, flopped into my bed, and wrote all my thoughts in my journal until I was wrapped in a comforting sleep.

Aurora came in some time at night, I could sense it. And I could here her when she said

"Don't worry, I won't let the darkness get to you to. We couldn't save me from it, but we could save Sensai Garmadon. With that, I trust you. Not only do I trust you, I believe in you.."

And with that, I sleeper soundly, with a smile etched into my face.
