*I like to acknowledge my best friend Ashely/Littleblackstar0018 for helping me create this wonderful story.* <3

A long time ago in the era of samurais in a time of war. Deep in the mountains there was a beautiful young kitsune named Yuki. Kitsune means fox spirit and Yuki means snow in Japanese. She was the last nine tails left. She was very lonely. She spent her whole life alone. She's been hiding her whole life.

*YUKI*
I ran through the forest. Food had become more and more scarce. So I had no choice but to venture out of my territory. I crept around carefully until I seen a rabbit chewing on some of the tall grass. I was so hungry my mouth started watering. But when I went to pounce on it something snapped on my legs. I yelped. I looked down it was a metal trap. I struggled trying to break free.

When two men walked out. They were professional trappers.

"Well I'll be it's a kitsune." The older man said walking over when I growled backing away. He stopped when he seen my tails.

"We can't kill this one it's a nine tails." He said, to the younger man who was accompanying him when I turned into my human form. He froze. I tried prying it open. When he grabbed my hand.

"Stop you'll hurt yourself and I need you alive. We're already going to be in trouble for her being injured." He said, to the other man, putting cuffs on me. I was to weak from hunger to fight him. Then he put a blind on me so I couldn't run off. After getting my legs out of the trap he picked me up and carried me. I turned my head and sniffed the air trying to figure out where they were taking me. When they finally pulled the blind fold off I was in a cage in a carriage. The young man stayed in the back while the older man sat up front steering the horses. I stayed in the corner of the cage furthest from them. The ride was very long and quiet. When my stomach started growling. I was having sharp pains so I put my hand on my stomach. When I noticed the younger man was watching me.

"Are you hungry?" He asked, I didn't answer. I wasn't going to take anything they gave me. They rode through the country side to get to town. I laid down I tried covering my face. I didn't like being in this loud crowded place. I never knew humans could be so noisy and I thought the birds were annoying. But nothing compares to these humans.

The older man stopped in front of a building. He got in the back and covered the cage with a blanket.

"Wait why are we taking her here?" The young man asked as they lifted the cage.

"We need to get her fed and cleaned up before we take her to the king." He replied, carrying it into the house.

"What filthy animal are you bringing in here this time and it better be dead." I heard a woman say as the door shut.

"Well deary I can't kill this one. The king been asking for a kitsune alive. He'd be angry if I brought her to him dead." He replied.

"You finally found one?" The woman asks. When he pulled the cover off I backed into the corner there was a young girl and a girl around 15 at the table. Then there was an older woman at the counter. She walked over as I pulled my knees up to my face. She stopped when she seen my legs.

"How'd she get injured?" She asked kneeling down in front of the cage.

"Her legs got caught in the trap." He answered. She sighed.

"Poor thing she's probably in pain." She said, opening the cage. I flinched.

"Come on sweetie I'm not going to hurt you. I'm sorry you got caught in my stupid husbands trap." She said, pushing my long white hair back and smiled.

"She's so beautiful the king will be pleased." She said, grabbing my hands and pulling my out. I tried to stand on my own but I lost my balance and fell into her. My legs hurt to much to stand and I've never really stood in my human form before. She held me up as my head hit her shoulder. She slid her arms under mine. I had no strength. My hair fell to below my waist. When the woman lifted me up.

"I'm going to go get her cleaned up." She said, carrying me up stairs. She put me in the tub. I flitched when she pour the hot water on me. Then she started scrubbing my hair. It was the first time I ever used soap I didn't like it one bit. She scrub every inch of me even my fox tails and ears. She was a bit rough. I freaked out when she got to my feet cause it tickled. I started kicking trying not to laugh. When I noticed she was giggling.

"Someone's ticklish." She said, tickling me. I laughed loudly.

"Okay you win. Please stop that tickles." I pleaded. She stopped and smiled.

"So you can talk." She joked. I didn't know how to act cause it's been so long since I've been near a human.

"Yes I'm a nine tails of course I can talk." I said sarcastically.

"Then how come you didn't before?" She asked curiously.

"Because your the first person I've ever talked to." I said, her smile faded.

"Well you must have parents don't you?" She asked, I looked down and shook my head.

"I never knew them. I grew up alone. I never had a family or anywhere I belonged." I lied, when I looked her eyes where teary.

The truth is I did have parents but they were human. So was I when I was born. But I was born with a very fatal disease. I was only expected to live to be 15 if I was lucky. They loved me more then anything in the world. One of my care takers was a kitsune. She loved me like I was her own her spirit still lives on in me. It broke their hearts when they heard I was going to die. So she took me and ran off. The only way she could save me was by transferring all her kitsune powers and knowledge over to me giving her life so I could live mine. But since I was a kitsune now that meant I could never see my parents again. But I still have the locket my mother gave me it a picture in it of my parents and in engraving. 'No matter how far apart we'll always be connected in our hearts' I never took it off.

"How lonely. So do you have a name?" She questioned.

"Yuki." I said, when she hugged me.
"I'm so sorry Yuki." She said, I hesitantly hugged her back. She pulled away in shock when tears started seeping from her eyes.

"I'm sorry Yuki." She repeated.

"Why do you keep apologizing?" I asked whipping her tears.

"Because I treated you like such an animal. When your more human than me." She replied, I cocked my head at her. I couldn't understand what she meant when my stomach started growling she laughed.

"Well someone's hungry." She teased. My face flushed and she laughed. She got me out and dried me off. She reminded me so much of my mother. She stopped when she noticed my locket.

"What's this it's so pretty?" She asked, lifting it up.

"It's nothing." I said, quickly.

"Then do you mind if I take it?" She asked. I grabbed it.

"No it's the only thing I have left of my mother." I looked down.

"Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to..." She said, when I cut her off.

"It's fine." I replied, as she brought over a mirror. It was the first time I'd ever seen my refection. I looked just like my mother except my hair was white, my eyes were gold, and I had marks on my cheeks; every kitsune has them. I looked at myself over and over again fascinated. She giggled brushing my hair. While she ran her fingers through it.

"Your hair is so soft like fur." She said, running her fingers through it.

"Well I am kitsune." I said sarcastically. She laughed and helped me get dressed. She slipped a white dress on me and put my hair up. Then she carried me into an empty room and laid me down on the bed.

"Now you just stay here and relax I'll be right back with some food." She said, kissing my forehead, and left. I listened as she walked down stairs.

"Where is it?" Her husband asked.

"She's is up stairs I put her in the spare room. She has a name you know it's Yuki." She said, I could hear her walking into the kitchen.

"It's an animal Aiya. It needs to be in a cage." He commanded.

"Yuki is no animal in fact she's far from it. She acts more human then anything. She's a sweet child. She's the most compassionate person I've ever met. If you spent time with her you'd know that. All she wants is a family. She has a big heart." She said, raising her voice. I heard him sigh. Then I heard her pick up the plate and walk back to the stairs. I listened as she walked up stairs. I perked up my ears when she walked in. She smiled softly.

"Hey sweetie." She sat on the edge of the bed. She picked up a spoonful.

"Now open wide." She said, lifting it to my mouth.

"I can.." I said, when she shoved it in my mouth. I stopped it tasted amazing. I smiled.

"That's delicious." I exclaimed, she chuckled and started feeding me. That is till I took the bowl and practically had my face in it pouring it into mouth. She started laughing and took the bowl out of my hand. She set it down on the night stand beside the bed and whipped my face with a cloth.

"You are such a messy child." She laughed. I licked my lips.

"Your really are something else Yuki. You know that." She teased. I giggled. Then she tucked me in, kissed my head, took the bowl, and walked out. It didn't take me that long for me to fall asleep.
