The next day, no school, but he had Chinese lessons to study in his room but instead of studying Chinese, Adrien paced back and forth, trying to remember who or what saved his life.

"I'm sure I heard two loud bangs and then nothing," He thought.

He needed information about how he got these feline powers. Was it a miracle? Or did God give him a new life? He sits at his desk and searched about cats in history. Starting with the ancient one, Ancient Egypt. He scrolled through the numbers of Egyptian gods.

Soon he found the page of Bastet, "She's the goddess of the home, domesticity, women's secrets, cats, fertility, and childbirth" He read a short info about her, "So in a way I was reborn"

The cats have been sacred to the goddess for thousands of years and they pass this blessing to women to be reborn with cat powers.

"Well, I'm the first guy reborn so far," Adrien said.

The historical photos show an Egyptian woman with a cat, another from London, another from China, and everywhere the cats are, history says that cat women mysteriously are like witches or devils.

He knew already that black cats bring bad luck. He then remembered something when he woke up that night in the dumpster. Plagg mysteriously was there but was he really sacred or did he have the ability to bring the dead to life?

"Plagg, I wanna ask you something" He called for him.

"What?" Plagg leaps down.

"Do you have a part of me being reborn?" He asked.

"Well...um....Yes," Plagg admitted.

"You brought me back to life, didn't you?" Adrien guessed and if his cat really did, why did he?

"I had to, you're too young to die," Plagg said.

"What really happened to me?" Adrien goes to sit on his bed.

"You were shot twice and your heart stopped from the shock, so I followed you and the men out to the dumpster while you weren't looking," Plagg explained.

"So I did die?" Adrien said.

"No human could have survived that but I brought you back by giving you nine new lives," Plagg said.

"Is that why I feel.....different?" Adrien can't believe he died and was reborn as a cat man.

"I'm afraid so, you deserved a second chance," Plagg said.

"I can't believe it" Adrien stands up and paced back and forth; unbelievable that he died and was reborn.

"One minute I was dead and then came back to life with superpowers! It's incredible but creepy" Adrien held his head in disbelief.

"Some say it's a blessing or a curse. That's why I escaped the lab and met you. You were the one that I need. My ancestors have brought women back from the dead they were reborn as cat women. You are the first and only man to be reborn" Plagg said.

"Yes, and now I'm Paris's number one criminal as Cat Noir," Adrien said.

"But unlike the others that like stealing, you're very different," Plagg said.

"I don't kill people for example," Adrien said.

"But you do like to claw them," Plagg said.

"Yes, but to scare them," Adrien said.

"So cats like you are very sacred to goddess Bastet?" Adrien said.

"Yes, we are" Plagg nodded.

"But I have one question. If your ancestors saved all women for centuries, why did you save me? I'm a man" Adrien asked.

"I had to make an exception," Plagg said.

"Well again thank you," Adrien said.

"No problem. So what are you gonna do now? Investigate the pet shop?" Plagg asked.

"Yes before more innocent lives get destroyed, even Ladybug's," Adrien said.

"Alright, seems you're ready to be a superhero as well," Plagg said.

"There's a lot of definitions in a superhero," Adrien said as he goes into his closet to suit up.

"Ok then" Plagg replied.

"Besides, I'm just being a different person than just myself," Adrien said and puts on the mask, "Before I go, I need to visit a princess"

"Go get her" Plagg replied.

The feline jumped out the window and landed on his feet and then runs up to the street and swung his whip to get to the roof.

"Alright princess here I come!" He ran to the rooftop.

At Marinette's apartment, she was working on a new design when Cat Noir landed on the rooftop.

"I knew it" She muttered and climbs up to her loft bed and opened the trapdoor to let him in.

"Hey, puuuurrrrincess. Miss me?" He flirted and jumps down on her bed.

"Not a bit. Especially not your cat puns" Marinette scratched his chin.

"Mmmmm, you expected me?" Cat Noir laid down folding his hands behind his head.

"Somewhat. Rumors are going around that you and Ladybug are dating" Marinette said.

"Me? Dating her? We just fought each other" Cat Noir denied.

"Unless it was a dance fight" Marinette joked.

The feline shrugged at her guess, "Hmm...maybe. I may be a bad kitty but I'm no killer"

"Then what's with those claw rings?" Marinette pointed.

"Oh, those are for display and for intimidation," Cat Noir said.

"I hope these are not to kill," Marinette said and touches his bell.

"Cats scratch when they fight, my princess. Dogs bite aggressively, not scratch" Cat Noir smirked.

"You sound like you know about animals" Marinette laughed a little.

"I do, I got my education one way to another" Cat Noir nuzzles on her.

"Uh, what are you doing?" Marinette blushed.

"Just enjoying your company" He rubs his face near her hair, purring softly.

"You're weird but very charming" Marinette chuckled that he really isn't such a bad guy.

"Thank you" Cat Noir replied.

"Does this cat need a glass of milk?" She teasingly asked.

"Sure thing princess," Cat Noir said.

His princess went downstairs to go grab a glass of milk for him while he looks at the pictures on the wall, "Very nice" He picks up some family pictures to look at and then put them back.

Then he notices a few pictures of Ladybug saving the day, "Wow she's such a big fan of her"

Marinette came back with a glass of milk, "Here you go, Cat Noir" She hands it over to him.

"Thank you, Princess" He thanked her and drank the milk.

"You were admiring those pictures of Ladybug?" She asked.

"Um, no. Just noticed them!" Cat Noir lied.

"Whatever you say. Curiosity always kills the cat" Marinette rolled her eyes that she knows he's lying.

"Not always, my princess. The sun is setting and I gotta go. Things to steal, mice to hunt, and a kiss" Cat Noir lifts her chin and kissed her on the lips.

Marinette tensed up as if it's the second time he's kissing her, but this time as a civilian, "Ummm... Good luck" Marinette blushed after he kissed her.

"Sleep well, my sleeping beauty" Cat Noir smirked and went up to the balcony roof.

He got out and ran out to patrol the rooftops. He's going back to the workshop to find out what they are doing to these animals and why.

A while later he returned to the hidden workshop under the pet shop, sneaking into the vent. His senses are tingling that someone is following him in the vents and when he looked back, he recognized that scent; Ladybug.

"Hey there, kitty cat," She said.

"One, you're looking at my butt, and two, why the hell are you following me? I work alone" Cat Noir trying to turn around in the enclosed space of the air ducts.

"You're clearly up to something and your tail is in the way too" Ladybug crawls after him.

"I'm not up to something. It's them that are up to something. I don't do 'ladies first' with women" Cat Noir said, refusing her to help him.

"Them?" Ladybug was curious.

"This is my mission, milady. Don't get in my way" Cat Noir crawled into the air ducts to stay focused on his mission.

"I insist on helping you," Ladybug said.

"Fine, but suit yourself if you get hurt" Cat Noir whispered.

"I'm no damsel in distress, furball" Ladybug groaned.

"Not yet. And I'm just here to hunt mice and when I mean mice, I mean henchmen" Cat Noir said and kicks the air vent down and jumps down in a crouching pose.

Ladybug landed just behind him and noticed his pose, "What?" Cat Noir looking at her.

"Is that some silly pose of yours?" She asked with a sly smirk.

"Silly pose?" Cat Noir raised a brow.

"I've seen women are a poser but I have never seen a man like you as a poser" Ladybug giggled.

The feline rolled his eyes and stands up, "I always land on my feet and paws" Cat Noir said and looks into the lab that it was empty.

He needs to stay focused and find out what these scientists are up to. He goes up to the computer and typed to look at the documents and saw the list of patients that were tested by animal DNA but all have been deceased, "Many of them couldn't take the genetic changes, too unstable" He read the files of one patient who was tested for snake DNA.

"What is this?" Ladybug asked.

"It's secret files about splicing animal genes into humans, to enhance them or maybe to cure diseases" Cat Noir scrolls through the files.
