A/N: This turned out to be the longest chapter and took the longest time to write for me. So, I hope the ending is reasonably good. 

The big bad of season 5 of Buffy, Glorificus was here in all her glory. She just had a smile on her face but I knew for sure that she was up to something. To rub salt on my injury, Elena just decided to take off. She super-sped. After all we have been through, she just up and left. One second, she was frozen and the next second, I felt a little breeze and she was out of there.

"Well, looks like you are alone now with me" Glory said in a mocking tone with a maniacal grin.

I just visibly swallowed. She is going to fry my brain. Well of course, first of all there is nothing there to fry but I am in JD's body. I don't even know how that would work. Plus, Glory knowing about Dawn and the key so early could have drastic consequences. All of this doesn't really matter if I am F-ing dead. I've got to come up with something. But I couldn't really talk. I was nearly having a panic attack that I started to sweat and my hands went cold.

"Are you having a little panic attack?" Glory snorted and continued "How can you have a panic attack at looking at a pretty girl?"

"Well, I am a virgin" I blurted out the first thing that came out of my mouth. That embarrassing detail could have stayed inside my mouth. While it is still very common for Indians to be virgins until they marry, it was not so in America I guess even in 00's by the look I got from the hell goddess.

"Wait. Really? You look like you're in your 30's. You look quite handsome actually" Glory decided to flirt.

Like I already said, I am not good at talking with new people. This whole flirty Glory was making me too uncomfortable. I really didn't know what to say. Do I bear my soul to a villain. Is that a really good idea? My train of thought was interrupted.

"Hmm.. What? Cat got your tongue?" Glory let out a derisive laugh. I was all on my own here. Glory here is a goddess not just a vampire like Katherine. Only way I am winning this is by coming up with any emotional weakness that she could have. Well, at least she was being civil.. Um, I had a choking feeling as Glory's hands surrounded my neck.

"I guesss you're not of much use to me. Time to Die." she said with so much happiness. All I could muster was a time-out sign with both my hands. Well, she luckily decided to leave me.

"Goddamn! you're strong." I exclaimed. I decided to close my eyes and did some breathing exercises to calm myself down. Now, I had to pose as innocent as possible but I should make her think that I could be useful to her somehow.

"Ok. Who are you and what do you want?" I tried to ask her in a way that looked completely calm on the outside but I knew for a fact that I was completely freaking out inside.

"Wrong question. The important question is who are you? You are completely different from any human that I've ever come across" Glory suddenly decided to embrace her inner sage.

Well, what do I say? First off I was only 22. JD looked like he may have been in his 30's but was actually played by Thalapathy Vijay who was 45 when the shooting ended. This little info may be a bit too much even for the hell goddess. I just decided to continue with my whole innocent act.

"I am John Durairaj. You can call me JD though." I just casually introduced myself.

"And JD, what are you doing with Buffy and that vampire I just saw you with?" Glory retorted.

"Vampire?" I asked innocently.

"Oh! Don't act in front of me. That girl who you were here with just now?" Glory asked with a tinge of fury in her voice.

"Oh her. That betrayer's name is Elena. She sees a hell goddess and she makes a run for it" Me being the idiot that I was, I could not control blabbing potentially sensitive information.

Glory's eyes widened "What do you mean hell goddess? Uh.. and what were you doing with the slayer?".

I figured that as I just slipped up, I had to fix this. "Well, um..." I just couldn't form any words.

"Come on! talk! You're making me very annoyed. And I am very bad when annoyed" Glory started to become cranky and both her hands were approaching my temples.

I had to say or do something but my mind was not working. My mouth was not working. My body went to a standstill.

"Hiya! Hell bitch!" a voice roared bringing me back to reality.

"Hi Slayer!" Glory retorted while she was still looking at me.

Then within seconds, I saw Glory holding Elena and Buffy by their throats. I know I should be beyond terrified but I was strangely relieved that my brain wasn't fried as of now. I was still in an almost frozen state. I could feel my panic reduce but I was still having way too much stress than my body can handle.

Meanwhile, Buffy took the troll hammer which she was holding in her right hand for a swing. The hammer landed on Glory's abdomen who visibly crouched with pain. She now released her hands from both Buffy and Elena.

"Ow! You're gonna regret that." Glory warned Buffy and by now had her left hand over Elena's heart.

"Ah!" Elena cried in pain. Clearly a hell goddess pressing her heart was too much for the vamp.

"Now! Now! Buffy, all I want to know is where is my key. Give it to me and I'll leave your friend here alone." Glory made her proposition still having her left hand over Elena's heart who was still screaming at the top of her voice.

Buffy obviously looked torn. But she retorted in a sarcastic tone, "Yeah! Go ahead! Fat chance you get what you want". But her eyes told a different story as they were welled up.

Thankfully by now, I could now feel my legs and hands move slightly. I was able to open my mouth and stuff. I decided to tip toe straight to the front door but Glory's hand was upon my neck again.

"Maybe you don't care about this vamp but you sure as hell have to save this human. Being the slayer and all.." Glory again threatened Buffy in a matter-of-factly manner.

Well, there it goes, Buffy was just standing there with the troll hammer in her hand. She was looking at me and Elena and then suddenly swinged the hammer on Glory's face.

Glory's hands left my neck and this time I decided to make a run without turning back. I saw Willow at the front porch and decided to run towards her. Once I was out of the house, I decided to hide behind Willow and figured she could protect me with force field or something. I could have run out of there but curiosity got the better of me which made me decide to watch the battle between the hell goddess, the slayer and the vampire.

The sight in front of me was now brutal. Glory had by now thrown the troll hammer to the kitchen. Buffy and Elena were on the floor. Glory poked her index finger and middle finger of her left hand into Elena's left and right eyes respectively and her thumb was full on blocking Elena's nose. There was a lot of blood coming out of Elena's eyes. Buffy was not faring any better. Glory had this stronghold grip of Buffy's neck with her right hand. I was starting to wonder if slayers can die of asphyxiation. Troll hammer damaged Glory well enough in the actual series. But something is missing. I had to do something and do it fast.

I found Giles and Xander fighting some demons on the street. Giles' car was standing near them. I also had the smartphone in my pocket. I changed the phone to silent mode and started to come up with a plan. The plan was crazy as crazy can be but it had to work. I went up to Xander and showed my phone with the following text:

'Shh! Don't say anything as Glory has super-hearing. Believe me on this and justGo to Sunnydale General and go to the ward where mentally ill patients are present. Bring me the guy who is from the Knights of Byzantium. You can identify this by this weird tattoo on his forehead and he will keep on saying The Key is the link... the link must be severed... such is the will of God'

I noticed that while I was showing the message to Xander, one of the minions noticed it but thankfully Xander slammed the head of the demon on the car and he took off in the car along with Giles as he too had finished dealing with the minions.

Meanwhile, Willow was dealing with the high priest minion. Buffy and Elena were still under the ruthless torment of Glory. Buffy was now coughing up blood as Glory was punching her repeatedly on her stomach. Elena was still screaming as Glory decided to take out Elena's tongue and intestines after taking out her eyeballs.

I felt like gagging but I decided to focus and figured that I had to somehow distract Glory for like a very short time so that Buffy is able to get back her troll hammer. So, I decided to do what I do best. I decided to play my favorite song from the tamil moviie Master(2021) on my phone :

"Got the man with the plan right here

Bringin' swag with the man right here

Livin' up and sippin' on beer

Yeah, clap for me man right here

Hey! (No matter what they say)

Master the blaster

Hey! (No matter what they do)

Mr. Master the blaster

Yeah, give it up for my man, JD setting fire to the screen

Willow by now literally had the high priest minion in flames and smiled at me. I guess she understood that I was on distraction duty.

Glory was obviously caught off-guard by the sudden loud music. Glory, who was now obviously cranky and annoyed decided to come towards me in super speed. She was stopped before she could step out of the door by an invisible boundary. It was like some sort of force field. Now I understood the reason for the smile on Willow's face. Glory was now banging the force field with all her might

At the same time, Buffy who escaped Glory's torture now decided to run towards the troll hammer which was now in the kitchen. Elena was still on the same spot as she had a more brutal torture than Buffy at this point and was obviously recovering.

Well, unluckily the song decided to end. I cursed myself for picking up a very short song. Now that the song ended, Glory understood the ruse and decided to immediately follow Buffy in superspeed. Buffy by now had the possession of the troll hammer and just struck Glory with such a huge amount of force which resulted in the hell goddess falling down. Buffy was continuing the repeated onslaught on Glory.

Glory played dirty and kicked Buffy in the leg which caused the little blonde slayer to fall down. Glory was now stamping on Buffy's guts effectively choking her under the right leg. The little blond slayer was now struggling for breath. Meanwhile, the hell goddess used her other leg and kicked away the troll hammer.

The red-headed witch bombarded Glorificus with all kinds of sharp objects from the entire house but nothing seemed to affect the hell goddess.

Meanwhile, I saw Elena slowly opening her eyes and I signalled her with my eyes. She slowly stood up and saw Glory stamping on Buffy's gut. She went to help Buffy but something amazing happened before that.

Willow had now managed to float the troll hammer hitting Glory hard on her temple. Glory hit her head hard as she fell down and released her leg from Buffy's guts. The troll hammer was now in Buffy's hands as Willow willed it to move there. Buffy coughed and managed to stand up even though she was weak.

"Elena! Stay out of it and come out now!" I beckoned the Gilbert vamp.

Seeing that Buffy had now started to beat up Glory again repeatedly and more brutally this time with the troll hammer, Elena came outside and stood near me and Willow.

At the same time, Xander and Giles now turned up with Orlando who was blabbing on about the key. The whole 'The key is the link ... The link must be severed... Such is the will of God' thing.

Buffy was suddenly distracted and asked "What is he doing here?".

"Future-boy here asked us to bring him here" Xander replied to Buffy as he gestured towards me.

Unfortunately, the little sassy conversation between the slayer and the zeppo was interrupted as Glory managed to punch Buffy who flew over to the back corner of the house.

Elena gave me a sort of understanding look and yelled "Glory! You want to know about the key right? I can take you to it".

Well, I was puzzled for a second there but I realized that she was now actually enacting my plan. Maybe with Orlando here she put two and two together.

Now Glory supersped towards Elena with a gleeful expression on her face. When she came near the boundary, Willow placed her left hand on Glory's left temple and right hand on Orlando's left temple. There was some sort of light flowing between Orlando and Glory. It looked dangerous with electric spark and stuff. So, I decided to give them at least a space of 100m and took a run for it. Elena, Xander and Giles also ran with me.

Then after roughly 2-3 minutes, Glory and Orlando each fell down in opposite directions. Glory immediately woke up inside the house while Orlando, who was outside the house was still unconscious. Willow went unconscious and fell on the floor.

"What did she do to me?" asked Glory.

She got no reply but instead got a bang on her head from the troll hammer which resided in Buffy's hands. This time Buffy was more aggressive in beating up Glory as she saw blood come out from Glory's nose and mouth. While Buffy continued beating up Glory whose whole body was getting more bloodier, effing Orlando woke up and he was running towards Buffy.

Before Buffy could get distracted, Elena supersped and punched the poor dude powerfully in the face. He fell down on the floor.

Xander was about to yell but Giles closed his mouth. The watcher just gestured finger on the lips to the young man.

"Is he dead?" I inquired as Elena was standing beside us now as she brought Orlando near us.

"No. No. He's just knocked out cold" Elena replied calmly.

All this time, Buffy was still continuing to pound Glory without giving her even a little chance to talk. Glory, in a last-ditch effort turned into Ben. Buffy was caught off-guard and she stopped pounding. "Ben?" She asked.

Ben looked a little puzzled but a realization washed over his facial features. His entire body was still bloody and all he could muster was "I'm sorry".

By this time, me, Elena, Giles and Xander were near Ben who was now weakly lying down on the floor.

"Tell her it's over. She missed her shot. She goes. She ever EVER comes near me and mine again.." Buffy was threatening Ben now but was interrupted.

"We won't. I swear." Ben replied. Buffy dropped the hammer and hurried away towards Willow who just woke up. Xander also now rushed towards Willow and they all engaged in a group hug. Giles had a relieved smile on his face but looked at the trio of friends, me and Elena in a little bit weird manner.

"Guys! Where is Orlando? We've got to find him. If he goes back to his order before we find him, things could get a lot messier." Elena brought the trio of Buffy, Willow and Xander back to reality.

"Yep! We'll help." The three best friends replied in a chorus and they were off along with Elena to find Orlando.

Giles looked at me like he wanted me to leave but I whispered into his ear "Mr. Giles. I understand what you have to do now. I am from the future remember? I won't tell a soul what you're about to do but I am here to make sure you do it". Giles gave me a nod of understanding and he knelt down towards Ben who was now coughing.

"Can you move?" Giles inquired Ben.

"Need.." Ben strained a little bit but continued "a minute. She could've killed me".

Giles clarified "No she couldn't. Never. And sooner or later Glory will re-emerge, and.." He paused for a second and continued "make Buffy pay for that mercy. And the world with her. Buffy even knows that... ". Giles now reached into his pocket and took out his glasses and added "and still she couldn't take a human life."

Ben was now listening and I was internally cringing at my poor observational skills for not noticing Giles did not have glasses all this time.

"She's a hero you see." As Giles said that, he put his glasses on and added "She's not like us."

"Us?" Ben asked Giles in a surprised tone.

Giles suddenly reached down and put his hands over Ben's nose and mouth, holding them shut. Giles remained calm as he kept Ben still who was struggling weakly and later stopped struggling. Giles now decided to confirm Ben's pulse by holding his wrists and laying his ears on Ben's chest.

I never thought that witnessing the death of a villain could be traumatic but there it was. Ben sure as hell didn't deserve to die but there was no other way. Maybe I could've convinced Glory but powerful people have very large heads. I repeatedly tried to convince myself that it was for the best. I was nearly about to hyperventilate when a voice suddenly interrupted my train of thoughts.

"What have we here?" Spike asked as he entered the house.

I now started to wonder how Spike was here. Well, he was stalking Buffy and may have been in this area looking for her. Him entering the house was obvious as the owner of the house is dead. That's the same way Elena was also able to enter without an invite. Maybe because I am from a different universe, I don't count as a being living in this house in this universe. Ok, the whole mind rant on vampire invite suddenly had my head spinning. So, I decided to stop it and answer Spike.

"Ben is Glory. Glory is Ben. And now Ben's dead. Means Glory's dead." I tried to calm my inner Spike fanboy and answer his question.

"And now how do you plan on getting rid of this sodding bloke's body?" Spike asked with a disdain in his voice.

"Do you have your lighter?" I asked him.

"Yeah. what about it?" Spike retorted.

"Mr. Giles, do you remember what you did to the high school during the time of ascension?" I asked the watcher who just stood up after his little murder.

"Yes. But we have to hurry." he replied.

I now turned to Spike "Mr. Spike, can you bring the gas cylinder from the kitchen? It is too heavy for a single human like me or Mr. Giles here. Also this is for Buffy, so it would really help if you did it fast."

Spike immediately brought the gas cylinder from the kitchen. Their lids were open. I got the lighter from Spike and threw it on Ben's body and made a run to go outside the house. Spike and Giles followed me. After about 2 minutes, when I turned around, the whole house had been blown up and there was some sort of ash in the middle of the living room. The whole house was still up in flames though.

"What happened here?" asked Buffy. She had now returned with an unconscious Orlando who was carried by Willow, Xander and Elena together.

Me, Spike and Giles had weird glances with each other like those school kids who get caught for doing naughty things. Well someone had to come up with something. I can't exactly go about saying 'Giles killed Ben for you Buffy!'. That will only result in more unnecessary drama. But what puzzled me was how even Giles and Spike had nothing to say. Maybe, blowing the house was a dumb idea.

"And what is he doing here?" Xander added upon Buffy's question interrupting my brain which runs like an express train even at the smallest chance it gets.

"I don't know what happened but Ben in a fit of insanity decided to borrow Spike's lighter here and do a suicide. We tried to prevent him but at last decided that the best course of action would be to save our lives and here we are" I somehow managed to lie as relief began to show in both Spike's and Giles' faces.

Elena gave me a look like she was onto me and said "Ok. That explains it. But JD we don't have anywhere to stay now do we?". And there it was. She had managed to deftly divert the topic.

"You two can stay in my home. Also why did you need this guy?" Buffy invite us to her house and then asked the question gesturing towards Orlando.

"Elena, you want to do it now or later?" I asked Elena who was clearly tired. I am guessing she hadn't fed for a long time.

"I can but I am not sure if my effect will hold as I am weak now" Elena replied albeit a little tired.

"Wait! What are you two talking about?" Xander directed a question at the both of us.

I didn't exactly know how to tell them that Elena would be wiping Orlando's memory clean about anything regarding the key. It cannot exactly be said without alarming them.

Giles decided to dive right in "Ah! How clever! You are going to mind control him aren't you?". His question resulted in a bewildered expression on everyone's faces including mine and Elena's.

If Giles knew about mind control, then he could know about a lot of things including Vervain. Just now having witnessed the G-man murder Ben though, a weird feeling of fear was building up inside me. Elena's face was also obviously looking uncomfortable. I saw that Orlando had started to open up by now. There was no time to entertain any drama of any sort. I came to a decision.

"Elena. You have to do it now. You have to feed now and do it now. No blood bags. They were also blown up inside the house. Unfortunately, Ben, Glory whoever it was, is ash now" I went closer to her and offered my throat to her.

"What are you doing?" Buffy asked with an expression which was a combo of disgust and bewilderment.

"Yeah dude. What are you doing?" As Xander asked this question, he lost his grip on Orlando which effectively led to both Willow and Elena losing their own grips.

"There is no other way. Elena's just going to feed on me until she gets my strength and she will heal me. Then she will brainwash the weird dude and make him prevent his cult from following you here." I tried to convince them but it was too late and oh I felt the searing pain of 10 needles through my throat now. I felt blood leaving my throat like a stream. Maybe Elena started to feed on me after all. And then I felt my eye lids close.

"JD! You bastard! Wake up!" I slowly opened my eyes as I heard a voice scream. I saw Elena give me a relieved smile and then she added "You gave me quite a scare there."

Now I saw Orlando try to escape but was caught by Buffy before he could move and was again pinned to the ground. Elena went up to the guy and started to weave up a story on how he saw the key which was in human form and destroyed it as it was left unprotected as the slayer was busy fighting the hell goddess Glory. She also made him convinced the key looked like Elena herself and the whole Knights of Byzantium can disband. She made him repeat the whole story once to confirm a successful compulsion. Then the poor lad scampered off.

"Y'all can't get rid of me that easily" I said with a teasing tone and added "Now that the whole house has been burnt down, me and Elena here need a place to sleep".

Thankfully, Buffy invited both of us to rest for the night in her house. Joyce and Dawn were not there in her house. I figured that she took them someplace safe.

Now, the morning of Jan 21, 2001 was upon us. After the entire set of morning rituals like brushing and taking bath, Buffy took me and Elena to the Magic Box. Willow and Giles were waiting for us.

"So, based on what I understand, Elena, your body was taken over by another person, Katherine in your universe and JD, you don't know your actual name in your universe and your body in this universe looks like the protagonist in one of the movies in your universe. Also, JD just to be clear, you have not possessed this body in this universe. It just seems that your body has changed to this particular one when you entered this universe as you come from a universe where magic does not exist. Elena's body was not affected because magic existed in her universe. We now just have to transport your souls to your respective universes to the correct place and the correct time. We will be doing the whole procedure in the Hellmouth where Tara will join us" Willow explained the whole procedure and her eyes lit up while mentioning Tara.

"Willow, Giles, Buffy Thank You for doing this" Elena thanked them.

"Yes. Thank you for everything" I thanked Elena in thanking them. I had a last look at the troll hammer which Buffy used last night to kill Glory and left to the Hellmouth aka Sunnydale High School along with the brunette, the redhead, the blonde and the Brit.

Tara was waiting for us outside the high school. She smiled and looked at Willow.

"Hi baby!" Willow waved her hand towards Tara. Tara planted a small kiss on Willow's lips.

"I can happily die now with an erection" I mumbled to myself.

Elena playfully tapped on my shoulder and whispered "JD! You pervert! Shut your horses!"

I decided to heed to her advice and decided to control my mouth from spilling out anything more from my dirty mind. We decided to head to the hellmouth near which we woke up.

"Can you both now stand at the places where you woke up?" Tara asked us.

Me and Elena stood at the places where we remember waking up. I decided to lie down at the spot once to confirm if I am standing at the right place. What? I have a pathetic memory and it was a miracle that I remembered this.

There were two circles drawn around us. Tara, Willow and Buffy held hands together.

"Now both of you, think of the last thing that you both remember from your universes before coming here. Keep concentrating on that memory and step through the portal that will appear in front of you. We will start the spell in 10 seconds" Willow gave us both clear instructions.

"Thank You Elena for saving my life. The last 2 days were crazy but you saved my life and prevented me from dying. So thank you for that." Well, that was not the best goodbye speech from my side but that should do.

"Thank You JD to you too.. Well for .. I am not able to think of anything to thank you for.. So just thank you" Well, her goodbye speech was worse than mine but I had to take it.

Then I heard some chanting from Willow and Tara in chorus. Then I guess Buffy must be there for being channelled. Also they each had some stone in their hands. I am guessing Baltic Stone but one can't be too sure. The chanting went something like this I guess "Aperi ianuam unicuique eorum per universum, tempus et spatium, et eas ad corpus suum in universo recto tempore et loco recipias".

And then in some time maybe after a minute, a rectangular portal opened in front of me. It may have opened in front of Elena too but I was thinking about me on my bike crashing into that bloody lorry and I stepped into the portal.

Immediately after I stepped into the portal, I found myself opening my eyes in a hospital bed.

"Amma! Appa!" I decided to call out to my mom and dad who had their asleep heads on my hospital bed. I also looked into the mirror and found myself back into my body again. My mom and dad woke up and profusely started crying and hugged me tightly.

A/N1: And here endeth the story. The chanting is in Latin. It translates to "Open a portal for each of them across universes, time and space and take them to their correct body in their universe at the correct time and place".
