Chapter 1: Fishing

Chloe walks along a winding dirt road, the setting sun casting orange highlights on the surrounding foliage. Her braid of long white hair swishes from left to right with every stride as her grey eyes scan the lush scenery.

Chloe stops in her tracks when she hears the sound of a nearby stream and the whistling of a boy. Her curiosity piqued, she decides to investigate further. She walks cautiously towards the source of the sound, making sure not to startle anyone or anything lurking in the surrounding bushes. As Chloe approaches the sound she notices a boy sitting on a large rock by the water's edge, his eyes closed as he leans back in the sunlight. His hands are clasped behind his head and there is a faint smile on his lips. The boy has short brown hair with orange bangs and wears a yellow jacket overtop a green tunic. Around his neck he wears a short beige scarf.

Chloe clears her throat, announcing her presence. Nile's eyes shoot open, his head snapping up to reveal his surprise. He quickly regains his composure, his expression cool and unreadable. "Ah, hello there. Didn't expect company." His gaze sweeps over you taking in your appearance. "You're not from around here, are you?"

Chloe smiles softly, "No, I'm not. I'm actually on my way to a tournament in the next city." She takes a step forward, "My name's Chloe." She extends her hand for a handshake. Nile looks at Chloe, his eyes narrowing slightly as he studies her hand before finally taking it into his own. His grip is firm, but not crushing.

"Nice to meet you, Chloe. I'm Nile." He lets go of her hand and leans back against the rock, crossing his arms over his chest.

"And this is Cyclone Cygnus," Chloe reveals her beyblade, the silver and light blue metal glinting in the setting sunlight, the black face bolt contrasting the white performance tip. Nile sneaks a curious glance before closing his eyes once more.

Chloe's eyes narrow slightly as she notices the beyblade resting on the rock beside him. "Oh you're a beyblader too? What bey do you use?" she asks, her curiosity piqued. Nile smirks slightly, "Yes, I am." He reaches over to pick up his beyblade holding it up for her to see, "This is Vulcan Horuseus."

Chloe nods, "It certainly is impressive. I've never seen one like it before." She looks back up to him, her gaze curious and unwavering. "So, what brings you out here all alone?"

"Fishing," Nile replies with a grin. He leans back against the rock once more, casually dangling his legs over the side of the stream. His eyes flicker over to you, assessing your reaction.

Chloe raises an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued further, "without a fishing rod?" She asks, her voice filled with intrigue.

Nile chuckles softly, "Oh I don't need a fishing rod for the kind of fishing I'm doing." His voice is laced with a hint of mischief. Chloe tilts her head to the side, wondering what he could possibly mean. Nile smirks, clearly enjoying the fact that he has piqued her interest. He leans in close to her, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'm fishing for information."

Chloe blinks in surprise, not quite sure how to react to this revelation.

Nile nods, his eyes fixed on hers. "I'm looking for strong oponents to test my skills against, and it seems like you might fit the bill."

Chloe stares at him, both annoyed by his overdramatic round-about explanantion. "If you wanted to battle me you should have just said so," she retorts. "But since you didn't I suppose we'll have to do something else instead," she says mockingly.

Nile arches an eyebrow, his expression both irked and surprised. "Huh? What else is there to do?" He grumbles confusedly switching to a cross-legged position.

Chloe grins, her eyes alight with mischief. "Well, since you seem to be quite the expert at fishing, maybe you'll just have to catch me first."

Nile raises an eyebrow, a small smirk playing on his lips. "Is that a challenge Chloe?" He asks, his voice low and smooth; he turns away dramatically. "Because if it is... I think I'm going to enjoy it- Hey!" Nile turns back to see Chloe is already gone. He blinks, momentarily surprised before a grin spreads across his face.

"Don't worry Nile! I'm sure I'll turn up again when you least expect it!" Chloe calls out from a distance, already feeling the thrill and excitement of her momentary victory. She quickly dissappears into the treeline, leaving behind a faint trail of cackling laughter.

"Hey! You won't get away so easily Chloe!" Nile calls back. "I'll catch you, and we'll settle this like beybladers should!" He picks up his beyblde and takrs off into the woods; his mind racing with strategies on how to defeat Chloe in their upcoming battle.
