Batman POV
"So where'd you end up?" I asked through the phone.
"With Dinah Lance," (y/n) replied. I was impressed. (y/n) had left only a day ago and she had already made it to Dinah's apartment. "I explained what happened and she took me in. She's planning on training me more."
"How are you settling in?"
"Well enough. I miss the Cave but city life isn't that bad."
"Good to hear." I paused when I heard the door to the Cave open and feet running down the stairs. "Listen, I've gotta go. I'll talk to you soon."
"Alright. Later, Bats."
I heard the other line click, signaling she had hung up. I set the phone down and resumed my work on the computer as Dick came running up to me.
"Bruce!" he said, out of breath. "We've got a problem."
"Which is?"
"(y/n)'s gone." After she left, I decided not to tell Dick, wanting him to find out for himself.
"Did you check her room?"
"First place I looked."
"Her favorite places in the house?"
"Everywhere! She's gone! I even found her suit in her room." I nodded. "Wait a minute. Did you know?" I didn't answer. "Why didn't you tell me? We have to go after her!"
"No, we don't."
"What do you mean 'we don't?'"
"I mean that we don't. We're not going after her."
"And why not?!"
"If she left for a reason, why would she want us to go after her?"
"But why would she want to leave?"
"Not sure," I lied.
"Is there no way to find her?"
"She left her suit. She doesn't have a tracker on any of her things. Even if she did, she would probably have dumped it by now to throw us off." I turned to look at him. "She probably wants to stay hidden, Dick."
"But it doesn't make sense!"
"It doesn't have to. It made sense to her so now we leave her be."
"But-"
"No buts. If we ever see her again, you can question her, but for the time being, we respect her decision."
