"(y/n)?" I questioned, seeing the girl down the hall.

"Hey, Kaldur. Hey, Wally."

I stared as I recognized her voice immediately. Wally sped over to her and gently grabbed her arms.

"Where have you been?!" he asked. "Dick told us you disappeared!"

"I didn't disappear, Wally," she replied. "I left."

"Might we inquire as to why?" I questioned, touching Wally's shoulder which made him let go of (y/n).

She sighed.

"Dick and I got into an argument. I got shot during patrol and he went off at me."

"What do you mean?"

"On patrol, we ran into trouble. Batman, Dick, and I took care of them but I missed a shooter. Dick warned me and I got shot in the hip. As I was getting patched up, he was scolding me like a child. It would have been different if I was alone and had gotten shot. But no! Just because I get shot one time, while with Dick and Batman, I'm apparently not skilled enough. I couldn't take that from him and left."

We stood in silence for a few moments. Wally and I exchanged looks before nodding to one another.

"Hey," Wally said, touching her shoulder. "We don't blame you. Totally get where you're coming from."

"Indeed," I added. "Dick can be overprotective, wanting everyone to be at their best and to be as trained as he is. We have experienced this before from him."

"Are you guys going to tell him I was here?" (y/n) asked us.

"Possibly. But not until after we are done here. To avoid any confrontation, I suggest leaving now before Penguin arrives."

"Probably. Just... if he asks where I've been, just say that I've been around."

"We will," Wally told her. "Don't worry."

"Thanks guys."

She stepped forward and hugged us before taking off down the hall.
