Chapter Three: Attacked

A door burst open and a little sibling walked in.

"Damon! Hey guess what I made?" Drew said.

"Yeah?" Damon replied.

"It's a cell stabilizer!" Drew answered.

Damon perked up and went over to Drew to examine his invention.

"How did you get this?" Damon asked.

"I made it! So, you know how bombs completely tear you apart, right?"

Damon nodded, confused by his choice of words.

"Well, this keeps you together. Now, we can have these mass-produced by T.H.O.R.N.E and we can save people in bombings!"

Or help us through a time vortex, Damon thought.

"That's cool, Drew." Damon nodded and dismissed him. Now, he needs to figure out how he's gonna get that thing off of Drew. Damon realized that he could just steal it later that night. Now, all that's left to do is wait. But his thinking was interrupted. His phone vibrated on his bed.

Damon grabbed it and saw it was from Thorne.

"Hello?" he answered.

"Damon, gather your team and get them to the docking bay. It's urgent."

The phone hung up. Damon looked at his phone and texted the Nightwatchers to get to the docking bay. He grabbed his watch and headed up there himself.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, he saw Thorne waiting next to a warplane. Noelle and Keith were already there. Damon jogged over to where they were.

"We'll wait for Finn and Zachariah to get here," Thorne told the group. A few minutes later, the remaining members arrived.

"Okay, now that everyone's here, let's get started. There are eight squadrons of of my men at what used to be the Great Wall of China. The aliens brought some heavy weaponry this time. Tanks, as I've been told. You guys need to go down and help them. Got it?"

Everyone nodded.

"Good. My pilot will drop you off. You should arrive in half an hour," Thorne finished. He jogged over to a group of T.H.O.R.N.E officers and began conversing.

The Nightwatchers walked into the back of the warplane and prepared for liftoff. They strapped themselves in and immediately heard a voice on the P.A say, "3... 2... 1... liftoff."

The warplane hovered up and towards the enormous glass wall. The ship was encased in a glass box as a section of the wall opened, sucking the ship out into space, and they began their trip to former China.

Half an hour later, just as Thorne had predicted, they arrived in China. Once they landed and everyone heard a beep, they unbuckled and opened the door. Immediately, they were being rained upon with heavy fire. Rogue and Fang jumped behind a rock, taking cover. Zachariah couldn't feel it. Bullet kept dodging what was aimed at him, but he was so fast it seemed as if he was in the same place. Dart's armor protected him. He raised his arms and began to open fire on the aliens shooting at him. Rogue and Fang came out from behind the rock and ran with the others towards the main battle.

As soon as they turned a corner, fire came up on them. Everyone stopped in their tracks except Bullet. He kept going  he sped around the corner and scanned the area. H enoticed four tanks, flanking them on each side. There were petty soldiers charging T.H.O.R.N.E agents, and Bullet managed to kill them off. He then moved each T.H.O.R.N.E agent to safety. He then zipped back to the rest of the team.

"Four tanks. I saved our side. Everyone else is dead," Bullet reported.

"How big are the tanks?" Rogue asked.

"About the size of the ship that dropped us off. Actually.. "

Bullet sped inside the ship and motioned for the others to join him. Once they were all inside, Bullet whispered to the pilot, "Take this thing in the air. We need to attack from above."

The pilot nodded, and soon, the ship was twenty feet into the air, firing on all cylinders. None of the tanks even looked like they were damaged. Rogue decided to mount the plasma mini gun on the side of the ship and fire. All four tanks aimed directly at the ship. The barrels on the top of the tanks connected through a green bolt of lightning and shot the dropship. It sent them flying into the air, tumbling far, far away. Through all the panic and fear, Dart heard the cries of a young boy. His brother, to be exact. He was clutching the cell stabilizer. Dart thought of an idea.

"Bullet, vibrate as hard as you can. Now!" Without questioning his leader, he vibrated as hard as he could, slowly opening a time portal. Dart tossed Zachariah the cell stabilizer.

"You know what to do!" he said. Once the time portal was open, everyone, including the pilot jumped through.
