Another backstage dressing room. Our warm up act was already on stage the crowd was screaming, cheering. Soon we'd be out there playing our hearts out, in a place where people loved us. So unlike how they felt about us as the vigilantes the Birds of Prey.

Thunk, Thunk my band mate and best friend Susan kept on throwing knifes at a picture of Tom. Tom is her cheating ex boyfriend.

"What did the door ever do to you Susan? " Kat teased as she finished putting on her makeup.

Kat by the way is my other best friend. The three of us form the nation wide popular band The Heartbreakers.

"Oh shove off Kat," I said " your just upset you and Susan can't trow knives at the real thing."
"So the statue lives!" Susan comments. "Yea," Kat adds "we were starting to wonder if you had a run in with Medusa at the emporium. "

"Hardy har har please Susan's mom isn't that scary. " I replied which sent us collapsing in a fit of giggles.

"So I found a job for the Birds of Prey tonight." Then Susan pulls out a news paper. Just as she goes to show us the door bursts open, and Susan's mom, Mrs. Winters bursts in.

"Guess what! " Mrs. Winters trilled "Oh my a very important man is coming to visit you after the show. So you MUST be on you very best behavior, okay girls? "

"Yes." I say trying to hide my sarcasm. I didn't work.
"yes ma'am" she corrected with a glare
"Really Mrs. W you don't have to call me ma'am" I smirked seeing Susan and Kat high five behind her back. Oh yea go potterheads!

"We'll be purrrfect angels." Kat said as Susan was gagging behind her back. "Of course when have we ever not been. " Susan replied as I struggled to hide my laughter. "I'm sorry Dorothy droped a house on your sister!" I said as she closed the door. Luckily she didn't hear me.

But that sent us all laughing again, just as the intercom came on telling us that we're on in 5.

Susan stuck her hand between us "Together?", together we echoed as we all stuck are hands in. "Partners in crime! " Kat shouted as we broke away and ran for the stage!

We charged out there and sung, danced, and worked the crowd. By the time we got back to our dressing room we were euphoric, high on our own happiness. We forgot about the special guest. When I remembered I jumped up but it was to late.

"crap! " I said startling the girls as the door swung open revealing a tall broad man with dark hair tailed by a nervous Mrs. Winters.

"This is Mr. Wayne." squeaked the Mrs. "Show was amazing girls, " Mr. Wayne commented " practically stole my breath away. "

I didn't like how he said stole as if he knew! The others were uncomfortable too I could tell although they hid it well. I was the first to recover. "Thank you mister Wayne" I said politely trying to smile. I got the feeling he knew too much.

He just laughed and then smirked at us. Yes! He smirked! Now I was worried, because it was that kind of smirk that people do when they know your secrect yea that smirk, annoying right. "please call me Bruce," he chuckled "I have a meeting so I must go, but I'm sure we'll meet again."

He left with Susan's mom following. We took a few seconds to recover. All of us trying to believe we were wrong and he didn't know our secrect.

"So about tonight" Susan said with a shaky breath "look at this. " She held up a crumpled newspaper the headline stood out.

Holy crap...... I think as Kat whispers almost to herself "priced at over 40 mil." she mutters over and over. I whistle in spite on myself cause crap that's one expensive rock.

"Suit up girls." Susan's practically sings "Time to steal us that shiney ice!"
