048.
AS THE FIGHT RAGED, Lana chose not to participate. She didn't want to hurt her teammates. They were the people that were like family to her.
Tony had found his way out of the pile of cars and Lana could feel the glare he was sending her way, through the metal mask. She saw Vision stop the group of rebels as she floated down from the sky.
"...But for the collective good, you must surrender now," Vision said.
The two teams stood in lines on opposite sides of the airfield, staring at each other.
Steve started to walk towards them and Natasha sighed, "This is gonna end well," she said sarcastically as their team walked forward also.
Team Cap broke into a jog and so did they.
"They're not stopping," Peter stated in panic.
"Neither are we," Tony replied.
They were all in a full run now and Lana blasted herself into the air. Because of her skill level, she was elected to take on Wanda. She saw her throw Natasha away from Clint and dropped down behind her.
"You were pulling your punches," Wanda stated. Clint ran off and Wanda turned to see Lana, "Are you really going to fight me?"
"You know I don't want to. I would never intentionally hurt any of you," Lana said.
"Really?" Wanda questioned.
Lana looked to the side as T'challa almost slit Bucky's throat. She swiped her hand and the King flew back.
"Yes. Now, we have two options. Fight each other and make it look as though we're really going for it. Or sit in one of the planes and watch the fight, while eating little bags of peanuts," Lana smiled at her hopefully.
"How about we go for the second option," Wanda said. The two blasted through one of the planes and Lana walked through to the cockpit. She picked up one of the peanut bags and sat in the pilot seat whilst Wanda sat next to her.
"So what's going on with you and Steve?" Wanda asked.
"It's complicated," Lana grumbled as she watched the fight. Steve was fighting with Peter which she hardly thought was fair.
Wanda scoffed, "You know I can hear your thoughts right? You love him but you're too scared to say."
Lana had told Wanda only because the younger girl had already known. Listening to thoughts was an intrusive thing and they hated it but it was hard to control sometimes.
"Kinda, I guess. After everything, it's hard to find someone who would accept you for what you've done. And I think Steve knows that, he knows my past and he hasn't run away yet."
"Because he loves you too. Just admit it to each other."
Lana chuckled, "Can't do that now. Do you see what is happening outside?"
The two looked through the windows as Scott turned into a giant and threw Rhodey across the lot.
"Well help them escape," Wanda shrugged.
"Then I'll become a fugitive myself," Lana said.
Wanda sent her a pointed look, "I hate to say it but you've always been a fugitive. You've been hiding from the government practically all of your life. Even at S.H.I.E.L.D. What's the difference now?"
Lana sighed, "Absolutely nothing."
"If you're going to do something about it, you might want to do it now," Wanda nodded to the chaos that was going on outside and the two exited the plane.
