041.
LANA STARED out of the window of the hotel room. She was hearing what had happened in Vienna, the King had died, the building had blown up and many people were harmed.
Now even more she was leaning towards the side of the Accords, however, she would never admit that to herself.
She turned as the news reporter say who was the main suspect. "I have to go to work," Sharon sighed. She had come back to the hotel and seen Steve in the lobby when Sam approached them with the news.
Steve nodded and turned to Lana, "What's are you thinking about?"
"Nothing."
"Don't lie to me Lana, please."
"I want to sign it," she said quietly.
"Can Lana and I talk alone for a moment please?" Steve asked. Sam left with Sharon and Lana sighed, "Why?"
"I hate this. You know I do. But I can't do it anymore. Be so... wild."
"You told me you wanted to be in control. If you sign this you won't be," Steve said.
"Well, maybe I shouldn't be!" Lana yelled, "All my life I've always had orders. Now I don't and I feel like I'm going to explode."
"But you've been fine," Steve stepped towards her taking her hands in his, she looked away, "Unless you haven't."
"No, I'm fine."
She lied.
She hadn't been fine. Lately, she had dreams. Since Wanda had messed with her mind a few months ago. Dreams that she had pushed to the darkest parts of her mind, locked away for no one to see. But recently they had been resurfacing. Memories of the kill. The hunt. It made her nostalgic. Of the time when her only care was to impress Dreykov and Madame enough not to her. To be the perfect widow.
Life was simple in those times. Where her mind wasn't her own and she didn't control the nightmares got.
"I'm fine," she repeated, "I need to call Natasha. Are you going to find Bucky?"
"Yeah. He needs me, now more than ever." Lana nodded going to retreat into the bedroom.
"Lana?"
"Yeah?"
"Do what's best for you," Steve said. He left a lingering kiss on her forehead before exiting the room. Lana pulled her phone out of her pocket and dialled her sister. Hoping that she would answer.
"Hello."
"Natasha? Thank God. Are you alright? Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine Lana, I promise. You need to tell Steve to stay out of this," Natasha commented.
"I'll try," Lana lied. She knew Steve would always go for Bucky. The blonde was probably even booking the next flight to Vienna.
"I gotta go. But I love you."
"Natasha?"
"Yeah?"
"I'll sign it," Lana told her before hanging up.
