035.
LANA'S EYES blinked open the next morning. Light cascaded through the open balcony door, blowing the curtains. She tried sitting up and she felt a weight drag her back down.
Steve's heavy arm was wrapped tightly around her waist and he slept peacefully. Lana smiled at him and laid back down. She watched him.
His blemish-free face was pressed against his pillow and his pink lips formed a slight pout. Her mouth curved into a smile at his blissful look.
His arm tightened and his eyes fluttered open. She was met with an ocean of blue. A lazy smile crossed his face as he pulled her towards him kissing her softly.
No words were exchanged, not that Lana needed any, both silently agreed to stay in bed. Lana laid her head on his smooth chest and he twirled a piece of her hair in his fingers.
"I know nothing about you," Steve said suddenly.
"What? That's not true," Lana denied.
"Yes, it is. You know everything about me and I know nothing about you," Steve replied, "Tell me about yourself.
"Well, I have two sisters. Natasha and then my little sister Yelena. She's not our real sister but we all worked a mission together when we were kids. So after that it was like we were family. Uh... Nat and I have the same parents. We were born in the Red Room and after our mother was no longer needed, they killed her."
"Do you remember her?" Stave asked.
"Not really. Natasha tells me stuff sometimes but she barely remembers herself," Lana admitted, "I don't really have anything else about me really. My whole life I was an assassin or an agent. It's quite sad if you think about it."
They were silent for a moment before she spoke up, "Tell me about your family, you don't talk about them very often."
"My mother was wonderful. She was always smiling, even when she was in the hospital. She used to make me this pie when I had a bad day after school. I used to get picked on a lot. I was really small before the serum."
Lana laughed, "I know I've seen pictures. They're hilarious."
"Anyway, that's actually how I met Bucky. I was getting my ass kicked in the behind school and he saved me. He said I was skinny and scrawny and felt slightly bad for me," Steve laughed at the memory, "We became friends after that." A glimmer of sadness shone in his eyes as she looked up at him.
"We'll find him. He has to be somewhere on the planet," Lana reassured. He nodded and they settled back into silence.
"I enjoyed last night," Steve said. A smile broke onto Lana's face as she remembered the club and the activities that had occurred afterwards.
"Me too."
"I thought it was going to be really scandalous. Clubs back in the 40s were... different."
Lana laughed. However, it turned into a groan as her phone rang. She turned in his hold as she looked at the phone, "It's Natasha." She answered the call and put it on speaker, "Hello?"
"Why are you and Steve in the news?" Natasha asked. The two looked at each other and suppressed laughs.
"What?" Lana feigned confusion.
"I'm looking at a newspaper right now. It says Steve Rogers and Svetlana Romanoff dance together in downtown New York. Are we sensing a super couple?"
The two burst out laughing, "Is he with you? Am I on speaker?"
"Yes. And yes."
"Hi Nat," Steve called.
"Hi, Steve. Would you like to explain why you're at my sister's house at... 10 in the morning?" Natasha asked.
"He stayed over last night," Lana said.
Natasha was quiet before she sighed, "I can't believe this."
"Believe what?"
"That you two went clubbing. Especially Steve," Natasha exclaimed.
"It was fun," Steve replied. Lana smiled at him.
"Whatever. This is all over the news. You weren't even discreet about it," Natasha scolded, "What are we going to do?"
"Nothing. It was just harmless fun," Lana brushed off.
"Really? You two look very close in this picture."
"Do I look pretty?"
"Goodbye." Natasha hung up and the two laughed at her dramatic behaviour. Steve took her phone and typed something in. He smiled before turning it.
Steve Rogers and Svetlana Romanoff clubbing in downtown New York. Were written in bold letters as a picture of the two sat underneath. In truth, they were quite close.
"We do look good," she nodded. Steve grinned as he handed her back the phone.
