033.

IN THE LITTLE TIME, they had Wanda had shown Lana her impressive skill set. Lana thought the Maximoff girl was well ranged in her abilities and didn't really need her help.

"You don't need me, Wanda. Your control is better than mine will ever be," Lana said.

"Thank you," Wanda smiled. She suddenly gasped.

"Wanda?"

She let out a scream as red energy exploded from her body. The only reason Lana was still alive was because of the protective barrier she had shielded herself with.

"I want him dead," Wanda sobbed. Lana nodded and they moved out of the church. As they approached an abandoned bus, Lana saw the large gaping hole in the side and heard deep metallic groaning coming from inside.

Wanda knelt beside Ultron and Lana stayed back, "Wanda," Ultron breathed, "If you stay here, you'll die."

"I just did," Wanda replied bitterly, "Do you know how it felt?" She allowed her magic to grip his metal heart and pull it from the socket, "It felt like that."

"Wanda we have to go," Lana said quietly. She nodded and just as they exited the bus the city dropped.

"Thor. On my mark," Tony ordered.

Vison floated up to them and flew them into the sky. A bright light exploded from the rock and parts of it rained down. Lana looked down over Vision's arm and grimaced.

He placed them onto the lifeboat and flew away.

"Are you alright?" Lana asked.

"No," Wanda shook her head as tears brimmed in her eyes. Lana hugged her. She looked up as Steve approached.

He mouthed to her, "Are you good?"

She nodded and he smiled.

A few months later, the team had moved into a different compound and Lana stood with Natasha looking at her phone.

They smiled as they saw a baby pop up on the screen, "Say hi to Auntie Lana and Nat!" they heard Laura say. The baby giggled.

"Fat," Natasha said.

"Natasha," Lana slapped her.

"One of our tech boys flagged this. Splashed down in the Banda Sea," Fury said as he approached the two, "Could be the quinjet. But with Stark's stealth tech, we still can't track the damn thing."

The two were looking for Bruce. After the mission, he had flown away and nobody had been in contact with him, "Right." Natasha nodded.

"Probably jumped out and swan to Fiji," Fury joked. When he saw Natasha's expression he said, "He'll send a postcard."

"Wish you were here," Natasha smiled before she looked up, "You sent me to recruit him way back when. Did you know then what was going to happen?"

"You never know. You hope for the best then make do with what you get," Fury responded, "I got a great team."

"Nothing lasts forever," Lana commented.

"Trouble, Agents Romanoff. No matter who wins or loses trouble still comes around." He walked off and the sisters smiled.

"You wanna keep staring at the wall or do you want to work," a voice teased.

Lana turned and smirked at Steve, "I mean it's a pretty interesting wall."

"I thought you and Tony were still gazing into each other's eyes. How do we look?" Natasha asked as they walked up to him.

"Well, we're not the '27 Yankees," Steve replied.

"We got some hitters," Lana shrugged.

"They're good. They're not a team."

"Let's beat them into shape," Natasha smirked as the three pushed open a pair of double doors.

Rhodey, Vision, Sam and Wanda stood behind it.

"Avengers..."

"I have to go for my evaluation. Dr Fine just got here and he wants to take a look right away," Lana panted as she finished up the small training she had with the group.

"Do you want me to go with..." Natasha trailed.

"Please," Lana nodded. The two sisters walked down the long corridors and finally emerged into the medical bay.

"Dr Fine," Natasha smiled. The man smiled back and they exchanged greetings before getting down to business.

Dr Fine took a sample of Lana's blood as she sat on the bed and lifted objects with her mind. Natasha watched her sister impressed. To her, Lana had come a long way from that cruel assassin in the Red Room. She had matured into an amazing hero.

Dr Fine turned from his microscope and gave his diagnosis, "You said Ultron injected you with something?" Lana nodded, "Do you remember the last time we spoke? I told you if you were exposed to cosmic energy again I would know what would happen. And it appears your DNA is unreadable. I can't tell you what's happening to you."

"So what are you saying?" Natasha asked worried for her sister.

"All I can say is to contact me if anything out of the ordinary happens," the two nodded, "Good luck, Lana. I wish you the best."

"Thank you."
