026.

THE TEAM was in a place called the Salvage Yard on the African coast. Steve had given out his orders and the team went in every direction. Lana and Steve ended up together and they were now walking towards the boat. Lana walked unhappily through a muddy lake and Steve snickered as her face scrunched in disgust. She glared at him.

"What?" he laughed as she squealed.

"Something just brushed past my foot. I think it was a snake."

"What? Where?" Steve panicked looking down at the murky water. Lana laughed.

"Who's laughing now? Me." They reached the ship and climbed aboard and parted ways. Lana went to find Natasha while Steve went to find Tony and Thor.

As she found her sister Natasha giggled, "What did it look like?"

"What did what look like?"

"The snake," the two burst out laughing before focusing on the mission.

They walked behind the rest of the team silently with Clint coming up on the other side of the wall. They listened as the two sides talked waiting for the fight to break out. Tony was blasted into a wall just in front of Lana before he flew back out. Shots were fired and men started coming towards the three.

Clint went to higher ground whilst Natasha and Lana stayed to fight off the men from below.

"Lana. Go after one of the enhanced, would you? They're running around here messing things up," Tony exclaimed through the comms.

"Go," Natasha nodded. Lana took off to find either of the children. She looked up as the girl dropped down from one of the higher levels.

She could hear Thor and Steve talking about her. How she tried to warp his mind.

"You don't have to do this," Lana told carefully. God, I sound like Steve she thought.

"But I do." She seemed to speed up and she flicked red energy into her head.

Lana felt the effects immediately. She became dizzy before she dropped.

In her mind, she was back in the Red Room. They were working on one of the dances.

Girls twirled precisely on pointe before a loud crack echoed through the room.

"Stop," A harsh voice said. Madame B looked over the girls. She raised her hand and the girls stood on pointe once more. She inspected each one before a snap was heard.

Two girls away from Lana another dropped with a broken ankle. Madame flicked her wrist and men came to take her away. She screamed out and tried to pry herself away but they just hauled her out into oblivion.

Madame B stood in front of Lana looking her over.

"My office. Now," he thick Russian accent said, "Dismissed!" she yelled. The girls hurried out and Lana followed Madame B.

Inside the office was bleak. Guns, knives and arrows stood neatly in a case off to the side. A man turned around in Madame B's chair and looked her over. He nodded and men walked in and injected her with a liquid.

The scene changed and Lana stood in a bloody room. Blood was smeared across the wall and bodies littered the dirty ground. Taking a closer look she could make out a face. Natasha.

She seemed to snap out of whatever trance she was in before dropping down next to her sister's body. A long gaping wound gushed blood on her neck. Lana tried to heal her but nothing was working.

Looking around as tears slid down her face she could see the faces of the other people clearly. Steve. Tony. Bruce. Thor. A sob racked through her body before she looked down. Her fingers were sticky and coated in blood.

Clicking echoed around the room and she looked down. Natasha's body reformed and bones snapped into place before she stood, "You killed me."

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," Lana cried. She sobbed as Natasha advanced towards her. Her sister's lifeless eyes bore into her own and dark veins appeared all around her skin. Just as Natasha was about to attack Lana was heaved up and Dreykov and Madame B looked at her impressed.

"You even got the god. Well done." Dreykov smiled in victory, walking away while Lana was left to look after the cold decaying bodies of her dead team.

Lana woke with a start, still dazed and reached her hand out.

The person closest to her gagged at the invisible hold on his throat. It happened to be Steve. She dropped the captain.

"I'm sorry," was all she said, before retreating father into the jet and settling herself in a corner until they reached home.
