Six teens stood anxiously waiting for the details of their next mission from Batman. It was just another day for the Young Justice team-a team made up of the Justice League's proteges-except for one thing. Not the fact that Kid Flash was snacking on an energy bar or two or ten-that was nothing new. Not the Boy Wonder scribbling down notes-he always does that. Not even the fact that there was a robot, an alien, and a clone with them. No, it was none of these things. It was the fact that there was another child in the room with them. A young girl, to be exact. No older than ten. What threw the teens off even more, other than Robin of course, was the fact that she came with Batman. She was leaning against the wall, playing with a rubik's cube, which was making just the right noise to annoy our resident bat.

"Please stop making that wretched noise." The Dark Knight directed towards the mysterious girl. In response, she rolled her eyes and stopped messing with her rubik's cube. . . For five minutes.

"Stop messing with that." The bat ordered her, accompanied with a famous bat-glare. She blatantly ignored him and kept playing with her puzzle.

"That's it. Hand it over." Batman ordered turning to her, holding his hand out impatiently. She just sighed and rolled her eyes and tossed him the rubik's cube. "Now. Back to the mission briefing..."

----The Dark Time Skip, fighting against villainous time skips and line breaks to bring justice to the linebreak world----

"And there have been a strange series of murders in the area you're going to. All children, no older than yourselves. The only evidence left behind is blood. While you are there I want you to investigate, and deal with the source accordingly. And as you may have noticed there will be someone joining you for today. It may not be permanent. She is not to give her real name." Batman said to the team, but directed the last sentence to the girl, who just rolled her eyes. "You need a costume from Agent A and a hero name." He instructed her and left.

"Soo..." The speedster sped over to the new girl. "How do you know Batman?"

"He's my dad." She deadpanned.

"Ookaay..." Kid Flash said, followed by an awkward silence.

"Nightshade." Mystery girl said, breaking the silence.

"What?" Asked Kid Flash.

"My hero name. Nightshade." She replied.

"Any particular reason?" Asked Artemis.

"...To... honor and old friend... And it goes with my powers."

"Powers? I thought Batman didn't have any powers." Miss Martian asked.

"He doesn't."

"Then how do you have powers?" Kid Flash questioned.

"I got them from my mom." The newly named Nightshade answered in a "duh" tone.

"Who is your mom?" Artemis asked.

"That is highly classified information." She responded in a closed manner.

"Guys," Robin, who had been unusually quiet interrupted. "Even I don't know that, and I live with her! How do you think she'll tell you?!"

"OK. Fine. Why haven't we heard about you before?" Kid Flash continued "interrogating" her.

"That's a question for Batman or Robin." She retorted.

"Ok. Robin?" Kid Flash asked his best friend.

"It never came up in conversation?" Robin replied, more as a question than a statement.

"Next question." Kid Flash started to say but was cut off.

"I think it's time for Nightshade to go and get her costume. We can finish her 'interrogation' on the Bio-ship." Aqualad, the ever-mature one interrupted.

"Thanks for the save." Nightshade said to Aqualad.

"No problem." He responded.

----The evil, villainous Dr. Line-Break, trying to destroy Reader City----

Nightshade admired herself in the mirror. Her new costume looked absolutely amazhang. (sorry, I had to) Her long, black hair was pulled up into a high ponytail, and looked like there were stars in it, making a tiara. Her costume consisted of a full body unitard with a mini skirt going out from her waist, that looks like a night sky, all the way down to little sparkling stars. The skirt hid secret pockets with emergency gear. She had black boots that went to her mid-calf. Finally, a black mask with stars covered her eyes, hiding her secret identity.

All in all, she looked pretty good.

"I do believe it is time for you to be going." Alfred, the world's greatest butler, said.

"Oh, right! Thanks Alfred!" Nightshade called as she ran towards the Zeta Beam in the Batcave.

"Nightshade B08" A female computerized voice said.

----Here comes Nurse LB here to aid Dr. Line Break in his fight against the Dark Time Skip----

"Nightshade B08" Rang out in the room, alerting the inhabitants of the entrance.

"Finally! What took you so long?!" KF asked.

"Not everyone can change with super speed, Kid Idiot." Artemis said and whacked him upside the head.

"And I kind of had to make a whole new costume pretty much..." Nightshade added.

"Why?" Kid Flash asked.

"Because this is my first time doing this" Nightshade sassed back.

". . . Oh. . ."

"We should start boarding the Bio ship so we can start the mission." Aqualad, the ever-mature one, said.

----The Time-Skip Wonder here to help the Dark Time Skip in his fight for justice----

As they all sat on the Bio ship heading to their mission, Kid Flash decided to continue his "mini interrogation."

"You said that this is your first time as a hero, but how if you live with Batman and Robin? I mean, I'm pretty sure Robin became Robin when he was your age." He asked Nightshade.

"Younger." Nightshade and Robin said at the same time.

"And as for your question, it's because I never really wanted to that much. Sure, I would help if they needed me, but I never really felt compelled to become a hero." Nightshade told Kid Flash.

"Oh. Why won't you tell us who your mom is?"

"One, telling you could be a threat to our secret identities. Two, it could put all of you in danger. And three, you don't need to know."

"Okay, okay. Sheesh! No need to shout."

----Time skip because I'm too lazy to come up with more questions and I'm also to lazy to attach a character to this time skip----

"Ms. Martian, link us up." Aqualad said.

'Link established' Ms. Martian said through the link.

'This is really weird' Nightshade said through the link.

'The plan is:' Aqualad started.

----Tiny puppy time skip🐶----

'Everyone understands the plan?' Aqualad asked.

'No...' Nightshade said.

'Weren't you listening?' Kid Flash rudely asked her.

'Not really' Nightshade responded.

'And why weren't you listening?' Artemis asked.

'Because no matter what I wouldn't be a part of it...' Nightshade said.

'Why would you think that?' Ms. Martian asked, slightly offended.

'Because you guys are going to do whatever Batman told you your mission was while I deal with the murders.' Nightshade told them.

'How is that fair?' Robin asked.

'What do you mean?' Nightshade asked Robin.

'You have to investigate murders by yourself while we get information on some drug dealers. How is that fair?' Robin reasoned.

'I'm only here because of the murders.' Nightshade told them.

'That may be true, but you are here as a part of this team, therefore you shall work as a part of this team.' Aqualad said firmly.

'Ask Batman, he'll tell you I'm right.' Nightshade told them. But while the team called Batman to ask, she snuck out.

"Nightshade is saying that she's only here because of the murders." Aqualad to Batman.

"That is true." Batman replied in his gruff voice.

"She said that she is going to investigate the murders by herself instead of with the team." Robin said.

"What do you want me to say?" Batman asked.

"That she has to work with the team." Kid Flash said.

"It doesn't matter what I say, it won't change the fact that she's already gone." Batman said.

Welcome to another one of my dreams that I have written down and posted!

What else to say.... Oh! Check out my feelings book for updates on when I'm on vacation or stuff like that that might affect my writing. It's pretty fun. We all share our feelings and rant about our day.
