21. This Again

When the door to the passenger side suddenly opened, Zion broke away from his haunting thoughts and looked to his right.

"Took you long enough." He mumbled. Bonnie rolled her eyes. He hated that he liked it. Ebony Stewart rolling her eyes was still one of the sexiest things he's seen on this planet.

"Can you zip me up, please?" Her question surprised him, but he had no issue with that. So he shrugged and opened his door to get outside and round the car.

Bonnie turned around and let him zip her dress up slowly. Zion felt her shiver and when he finished, he heard her let out a shaky breath. What would he give to have her tell him about her ovulation being tonight.

"Thank you." She turned around to look up at Zion. He just nodded after inwardly shaking his head away from those thoughts. Then they both got into the car and in a second they were on the road, rushing to their location.

Man, he really couldn't get away. It was either having naughty thoughts about the temptation next to him or haunting thoughts about his family. For a desperate attempt at finding distraction, he decided to turn on the radio. An old country song came on and he honesty didn't care, so he just continued driving.

But then he heard a scoff and a second later, Bonnie had changed the radio station. But she didn't seem happy with that one, so after a minute she changed it again. This kept happening until Zion called it quits.

"If you don't find a station in the next second, I'll turn it off." He growled, glancing at her.
"It's not my fault there's no good channel." She defended, continuing to switch the stations.

"Then turn it off." Zion growled. Bonnie sighed and switched the radio off. What the heck was his problem tonight? He seemed more on edge than usually. Was he still mad about Gomez's decision.

"If it makes you feel better, I haven't come up with a design yet." She told him, trying to start a conversation. She was beyond nervous for tonight and even Zion Dawsey would have to serve as a distraction.

"And you think I care, because?" He rudely replied, stopping at a red light. Bonnie rolled her eyes.
"Well, obviously you were very upset about-"

"I have every right to be. I've been in this business for longer than you. All my designs were satisfactory to Gomez in the past. If he likes your designs so much, why has he even considered me for the technical shit? I have nothing significant in that area." Zion told her, glaring at her form.

"But to blame me for everything is immature." Bonnie counted.
"Who said I blame you? You started this conversation." He growled, resuming to drive.

"Well, you're still upset. It's been three days, how long do you normally hold a grudge?" She scoffed. Zion shook his head.
"I'm not holding a grudge. That, Ebony would be immature. And for once, my mood has nothing to do with you." He reasoned. Conceited bitch, he thought.

Bonnie was quiet after that, not knowing if she should ask what was bothering him. She did want to have a conversation, but was it worth seeming that she cared? She was sure he would tell her off.

"How does it feel? Knowing you're not the center of my attention for once." He suddenly asked her. Bonnie frowned.
"Excuse me?" Did he think she thought he was only thinking about her?

"It's okay. As soon as the dinner is over, you'll get my attention again. But right now, I need you to just shut up." Zion growled, not even glancing at her. Bonnie was upset and crossed her arms over her chest, scoffing.

"It's easy to blame me for everything that is going wrong in your life right now. But let me tell you one thing, Zion. Someone can only get to you as much as you let them." She said before turning her head towards the window, watching the passing trees.

Damn she was hot, Zion thought for the second time. She didn't even seem to realize that she pushed up her chest when she crossed her arms. He would never say it to her, but that dress was amazing. It showed all the goods this woman had to offer. And those were many, Zion thought.

"When is your next ovulation?" He suddenly blurted out, completely forgetting about their little argument a second before. Bonnie shifted in her seat to look at him in disbelief.

"Did you even hear what I said?" She asked him. Zion clenched his jaw in annoyance.
"Just answer me." He growled.
"I don't know. I'll have to check, why?" She asked him. Yeah Zion, why? He couldn't help but ask himself.

"I'd like a little heads up the next time. You can't just come and go whenever you feel like it. What if I'm at business meeting or something?" He decided to go with that. No way would he tell her he was just looking forward to it.

"Wouldn't you like that? Getting a chance to avoid me." She raised an eyebrow in his direction.
"Of course." He answered. It was silent after that. Both lost in their own thoughts. Suddenly Bonnie gasped, making Zion glance at her with a frown.

"You like it!" She pointed a finger at him. Damn it, Zion cursed.
"What?" He acted indifferent.
"You're looking forward to our next night together. I told you, Zion. This wish for more needs to stop." She said.

"I'm not in fucking love with you and I never will be. Besides, what if I like it? I'm just a man after all. Give me any decent woman and I'd fuck her. You specifically don't play any big role in my excitement for sex with you." He snapped at her.

"Oh bullcrap. Just admit that you like it." She suddenly blushed.
"God, shut up." Zion warned, stopping at another red light. Bonnie smirked when he glanced at her. Zion rolled his eyes.

"Shut up." He snapped again.
"I'm not saying anything." Bonnie sighed, looking out of the window again.
"Good." Was all he answered before silence surrounded them again.

"Just don't fall any deeper." Bonnie joked, enjoying the way his knuckles turned white, upon gripping the steering wheel hard.
