Chapter 9
Dewey was still in a bit of shock after his older brother had kissed him. He honestly didn't know what to think of it, nor did he care that it had happened. He sighed and looked back up at Huey, who was still in tears despite what he had told him earlier.
"Huey, really. You don't have to cry, I'm not mad." Dewey claimed, wiping a tear off of his brother's face.
"I-I know that....it just, hurts. This, this is still rejection, and it, hurts." The oldest triplet explained. Dewey sighed.
"I know, I get how you feel....with Louie liking Jordan and all, it, feels like rejection too." The blue triplet looked down for a bit before looking up. "Now, why did you get so mad at Louie? I always tell you things about orchestras."
"Yeah, but, it's different with you. That, and, you don't have a crush on my rival..." Huey muttered something else under his breath.
"Hm? What was that last bit?" Dewey asked, looking at him.
"Noghing..." Huey muttered.
"Huey? What did you say?"
"I said nothing." He said sternly.
"Hubert! What did you say?"
"I said bully, okay!?" Huey yelled. "He's just a stupid, non caring, idiotic bully."
"H-Huey I-"
"Dew, I need to tell you something...."
"What is it Hue?" Dewey scooted close to his brother, listening carefully.
"I....I have issues..." The middle triplet laughed quietly.
"Don't we all?"
"Dewford, please. Listen."
"Okay, sorry."
"I have...anger, issues." The red triplet muttered. "They're getting worse now too..."
"Anger issues? You mean, like what Uncle Donald had, has, had?" Dewey asked, earning a small nod from his brother. "You, have anger issues?"
"Yes, I have anger issues..." Huey replied.
"Do Uncle Donald and Uncle Scrooge know?"
"Yeah...but they're not going to be happy with what I did today." Huey muttered. "I-I...do you, remember that outburst in first period? That was a bit from anger problems. Then...third period, that, um, I-I....I, knockedoverinstrumentsinthebandroomandnowUncleScroogeowesthemmoneyagain."
"Wait, slow down, take a deep breath." Dewey instructed.
"I, knocked over instruments in the band room and now Uncle Scrooge owes them money..." The blue triplet sighed.
"Hue, that's not right. Why did you do that? For fun? To annoy the band students?"
"No! I didn't do it for fun!" He snapped. "Jordan was being an as* and I just got really mad!" Dewey scooted away a bit at the sudden yelling.
"Hue, calm down." The oldest triplet stood up.
"Don't tell me to calm down! You don't know what it's like to be emotionally distraught!" He claimed. The middle triplet looked up at his brother, backing away. "You don't know how hard it is! To deal with people calling me nerd, and sm*rta*s. They all think I'm weird because of the problems I have! Do you have any idea how hard that it is, huh!? I don't think so! I don't think you, know, anything?" Huey looked down at his brother, who was breathing heavily, tears were in his eyes. "D-Dewey?"
"L-leave, please." He begged, his voice cracking as he held back sobs.
"Dewey, wh-what's wrong?"
"Andy..." He muttered.
"What?"
"I need Andy! Please!" Dewey was now backed against the bathroom wall, his knees up to his chest and his arms wrapped around himself. He was breathing heavily, fresh tears flowing down his face.
"What do you need him for?"
"Hubert I swear!! J-just go!" The middle triplet began shaking, his fingers scratching his arms harshly. Meanwhile, Huey was going back to where their friends were, rushing more like it. He had no idea what was going on, he had no idea that Dewey was having a panic attack.
"Andy!!" He yelled as he turned the corner.
"Huey? Where's Dew?" Andy asked, going over to him. "Catch you breath and tell me where Dewey is."
"Bathroom." Huey stated, taking a deep breath. "He just started freaking out, I don't know what was going on. He asked for you." Andy looked back at the group, then at the triplet in front of her.
"Come on you guys, let's go." The group nodded and grabbed their things, following Huey and Andy. Hubert, you idiot! What did you do to him!?"
"Don't call me that!" Huey yelled.
"Hubert! What the hel* happened!?" Azure yelled back. Once at the restroom, from outside, they heard Dewey's breathing from outside, soft sobs and whimpers as well.
"We were just talking....and then, I yelled and he started breathing like that." Huey whispered.
"Huey! Are you stupid!? He's having a panic attack. Let me handle this." Andy walked into the boys' restroom.
"Andy, you can't go in there." Ivone claimed.
"I don't give a damn Ivy! My best friend is in there having his second panic attack for today! I'm goinh, in!" When Andy walked in, she saw the broken glass and Dewey on the far side of the bathroom.
"Dew? I'm here now, it's okay. Just breathe." Andy sat down next to him and put a comforting hand on his. "You're doing great, just breathe." Dewey took a few shaky breaths in and out. The hand that was under his friend's turning into a fist. After a while the blue triplet began calming down. "There. Good job Dewey." Huey, Louie and the other three in the group looked at each other before walking into the bathroom, stepping over the glass to get to Andy and Dewey.
"Dewey did all this?" Azalea asked, looking at the broken mirror.
"That was, me actually." Huey replied, showing her his right hand. He looked back at Dewey and Andy, wondering what had happened. "Andy, how are you so good at taking care of someone in that situation?"
"I've been doing it for the past three years Hubert. Why don't you take responsibility and take care of your brother for once." Andy spit out.
"Andy, it's okay. You don't have to be mean to him." Dewey put a hand on his friend's shoulder.
"But-"
"It's fine." Dewey claimed.
"Soooo, Dewey has panic attacks?" Ivone questioned, wanting clarification.
"Yeah, it's been happening since sixth grade, and they just got worse last year, and this year, it's just....not going well." He explained.
"Are you going to be okay?" Louie asked, earning a soft nod from his brother.
"Louie, I'm honestly really disappointed that you said all of that to our brother."
"Right, that, but....He can't control that, he has no right."
"But you have no right to dis on something that he adores." Dewey claimed.
"I know, I'm sorry Huey."
"It's okay...I'm sorry I choked you, and almost intentionally punched you." Louie laughed softly.
"It's fine Hue." At that moment, the bell rang, and the bell was cut in half by the sound of static.
"Hello fellow students of Duckburg Middle School. If you would please direct your attention to the screens in the hall, I will be playing you a little clip, if an, incident, that occurred not long ago."
"You should probably leave now." Huey's voice was heard through the school speakers.
"What? Why? I just want to help you feel better." Followed by Dewey's.
"Then, please....help me by leaving." Huey and Dewey looked at each other in a panic, before rushing out of the bathroom, followed by their friends.
"I won't do that! You're my brother, and I care about you! Just let me help." The middle triplet begged. "I might not be that responsible more than half the time, but right now, I have to be!"
"Dewey, please...I'm warning you."
"Why!? What's the worst you cou-" Dewey was interrupted by Huey kissing him. The school gasped and turned to look at the familiar triplets.
"Oh no." They said in unison.
"Ooh, shocker!" A voice rang through the speakers. "Two brothers in love, how, disgusting."
"N-No! It's not what it looks like!" Dewey yelled while Huey just shrunk away to hide behind the twins. Louie, meanwhile, stared at both of his brothers. Back and forth.
"What, the, f*ck?"
