Chapter 4

The class went by relatively quick, unlike most days. The bell rang and that resulted in the triplets to stand up simultaneously.

"See ya tomorrow Lou." Jordan waved good bye to Louie once out the door.

"Bye." Louie waved back and smiled. He turned to look at his brothers. "I'll see you guys after third period at lunch. Same place?" He asked.

"You know it." Huey smiled.

"Our tree in the back of the school." The triplets smiled as they said that sentence as one.

"See you guys." Louie waved to his brothers and headed off to his next class, art. 'Why do I even take this class?' He asked himself. 'I can barley lift a pencil, let alone draw with it.' His thoughts continued until he got to class. 'You're good at art, they said, you should take art Louie, wow Lou, you can really draw.' Louie mocked his brothers mentally, walking into class and sitting down at his single desk.

"Hey Lou." A voice greeted. Louie turned to his right and smiled lightly at the sight if his friend.

"Hi Ivone."

"Did you do the assignment?" The young parrot asked. Louie nodded and took out his class sketch book, handing it over to her.

"Wow, this is so pretty, no wonder your brother's insisted you be in this class." Ivone complimented.

"Thanks, but really, I'm no good at art." The youngest triplet stated.

"Oh please, you say that every day." The two of them laughed softly and turned their attention to the teacher.

"Hello kids." She greeted with a smile. "You know what today is."

"Free day." The class said excitedly.

"That's right! Now, everybody turn in last night's assignment and put it into your class folder. Then, you can go ahead and draw whatever you want." Louie walked over to where the class folders were, along with everyone else. There was a bit of pushing and shoving, but eventually, the green triplet smiled triumphantly as he had both his folder and Ivone's. He went back over to his desk, placing Ivone's folder in front of her.

"Thanks Louie." She said with a smile.

"No problem." Louie opened up his folder and placed his assignment inside, closing it and setting it aside. "What are you going to draw today Ivy?" He asked, leaning over to look into his friend's folder.

"I wanted to paint a landscape today, so I'd have to go closer to the sinks, sorry."

"It's fine."

"What are you drawing today? The usual?" Ivone questioned. Louie nodded.

"Just some simple shape art." The green triplet explained.

"Simple? Do you even remember that owl you drew? That was amazing."

"Psh." Louie waved a hand in front of his face. "I wouldn't call it, amazing."

"Well, I should go now so I can actually finish." Ivone stated.

"Okay." Louie watched as his friend walked towards a desk that was next to a sink. He looked down at his sketchbook. "Hm. What to draw." He muttered to himself.

"Hey, Ivone." A student called out.

"Mmhm?" She answered, looking down at her small canvas.

"Have you noticed that Louie has a girly clip in his hair. That's weird." The student stated.

"It is not, it's kind of cute." Ivone protested.

"Do you think he's gay? Maybe even trans?" Another student asked.

"Who knows, this is so random, and really weird." A different student whispered. Soon after, the entire class was whispering to each other about Louie. The latter not noticing and just continued sketching. After a while, Ivone had finally had enough. She decided to walk straight up to Louie and ask.

"Louie, are you gay?" She asked quietly. Louie froze and placed his pencil down. He raised his hand, the teacher noticing.

"Ms. Foxlyn? May I go to the bathroom?" She nodded and that resulted in Louie standing up and leaving the class. He sighed as he leaned against the wall next to the door. Louie took his phone out.

'Yes, I'm gay. Is that a problem?'

'No, of course not. You're one of my best friends and I support you.'

'Phew, I was getting kind of worried.'

'Lou, the class is talking about you, and that hair clip that you have.' Louie moved his hand up to cover the clip.

'Should I take it off?'

'NO! Don't let them get to you! Now get back in here and finish this drawing of yours.' Ivone then sent a picture of Louie's sketchbook. The youngest triplet smiled and opened the door, walking back into the room. All the students turned to look at him when they heard the door open. They muttered things to each other as their eyes followed him to his seat. Feeling self conscious, Louie reached up and removed the clip from his hair, placing it in his jacket pocket. He looked down at his sketch book and then up at Ivone.

"I think I should have stayed outside." He whispered.

"No way. Come on, don't let these guys get to you. Be loud and proud of who you are." She encouraged.

"I don't know....you've been out since you moved here last year, I don't think I can be as prideful as you."

"Please, my colors are pink, purple, and blue, yours are the rainbow. You can definitely be more prideful than me." She smiled at him. "Let's start small. Let me see that clip." Louie reached into his pocket and handed Ivone the clip. She took it over to where she had been, Louie followed behind her. The young parrot grabbed some white paint.

"How long is this gonna take?" The green triplet asked.

"Not long." She answered, painting over the green clip with multiple colors. Ivone walked back to her desk and took out her markers, waiting a bit for the quick drying paint to dry. She went over the paint with the markers, careful to not scratch the paint off. The parrot reached into her backpack and took out a bottle of clear nail polish, putting it over the clip. "There, now just wait for it to dry." She handed Louie the clip back carefully. He looked at the clip seeing that it was now a rainbow.

"I-I can't wear this Ivy, not in front of my brothers." Ivone smiled softly at her friend.

"It's fine, I'm sure they won't judge."

"Okay..." Louie reached up and put the clip back in his hair. "How does it look?" Ivone have him a thumbs up. The youngest triplet smiled and looked over at the rest of the class, who were now minding their own business. He sat down at his desk and turned his sketchbook to a blank page. "Can I borrow your markers really quick?" He asked.

"Sure." Ivone handed Louie her pencil pouch filled with markers. Louie opened the pouch and took out the colors of the rainbow. He scribbled on the page in the correct color order.

"There." He stated with a smile.

"Wow, here use this." Ivone reached into her backpack and got some glitter out. Louie laughed softly.

"Sheesh, do you have a craft store in your backpack or something?"

"Maybe, here, just use it." Louie took the glitter and put a bit of the right color over the marker color. He smiled and crossed his arms as he looked at his masterpiece.

"What a beautiful drawing Llewellyn." The teacher stated as she walked behind two of her students. Louie looked back.

"Thank you." He said softly and looked back at the art.

"Have you signed it?" She asked.

"No, I don't really want to." He answered.

"Why not?" Ms. Foxlyn questioned with her arms crossed.

"I feel like this is something that doesn't need to be signed. It speaks for itself and it shouldn't be signed, because, it can belong to everyone."
