Chapter 1: Nightmare
-Dean's POV-
I've been having the same dream for the past few weeks now. Always the same girl in trouble. Screaming for me to help her before it's too late. I run and run as fast as I can but I can never reach her. She is so beautiful though. Long black and shiny hair, fair skin, and stunning chocolate brown eyes. It's crazy how I could see all her features up close but yet still be so far away. And always in the end, before I almost touch her, she fades away, and I'm left all alone in a room full of blackness. Then I wake up.
"Dean! Dean get up!" I hear as my body is frantically being shook.
I sat up in shock and rolled out of bed. I manage to get myself up and notice that Sam has breakfast and is ready for the day while I am all sweaty and out of breath.
"Having the same nightmare again?" he sighed tossing me a towel to get in the shower.
"Hey it was a dream! I'm only sweating this much because there was a beach party with me as the sun because I am just that hot!" I laughed with a wink.
He rolled his eyes and gave me that Sammy look. I walked by him and got in the shower to get clean from my horrific sleep.
"Did you find anything else on that case?" I yelled from behind the shower curtain.
"Just the same stuff from last night and the night before" he called back.
I sighed and shampooed my hair. People have been saying that there's a big foot in the woods and what's strange is that once you actually see the creature itself you completely vanish. So far all we've gotten was a witness who saw someone vanish and then went insane themselves. They're locked up in a mental ward and are not allowed to have any contact with anyone. Not even the staff that works there. So that's a dead end for now. At least until we get another lead.
"Well that's just great" I said with sarcasm.
After a nice shampoo and scrub, we made our way down to Baby and got on the road. Sammy and I both decided that this case was a dead end for now and wanted to move on.
-3 Days Later-
A few days later, Sam and I landed in the state of Oregon. It was already two in the morning and we had just found a Hotel 6. It was bit fancier than what we're used to but hey! Why not treat ourselves every now and then? I pulled up into the parking lot and parked a bit away from the doors so I could get the necessary "equipment". Sammy got out to pay for our room. That's when I headed to the trunk to grab our duffel bags and a few weapons. Just as I was about to go meet up with Sammy, my ears perked up when I heard a scream.
"Ah!" they screamed.
It sounded like a girl. Very high pitched and in fear. My instincts kicked in and I dropped my things leaving a loaded pistol in my hand.
"Ah! Please stop!" I heard again.
This time it was much closer. I texted Sam for back up and within seconds he was already at my side with another pistol.
"Where did you hear it?" he asked out of breath from running.
"It sounded like it was coming from across the road" I pointed.
He nodded and we walked towards the abandoned highway. We stopped to make sure we were in the clear. The road was pitch black, except for one flickering street lamp. We stopped in our tracks when we heard something run towards us. I was about to shoot but was knocked to the ground as well as Sam. We both stood up and tried to figure out what just happened.
"Maybe it just a spooked animal" Sammy suggested.
"That was no animal. At least not a normal one" I said brushing off my flannel.
Suddenly another noise came from behind us. I didn't hesitate and shot in that direction. I waited for something to fall because I definitely shot something. Then something stumbled out of the shadows and fell into the light of the flickering lamp post. Sam and I couldn't make it out so we walked up further a bit to get a better look. Sam walked up more closely than me. He about dropped his gun on the ground. Then he ran back into the building and into our room. I was left there speechless until I saw why he did what he did. There in the middle of the light... was a girl clutching her side. I had just shot a girl!I quickly put my gun away and ran over to her. She was lying there unconscious. Her matted long black hair covered her face. She wore nothing but a torn up, dirt, and blood covered white night gown. I looked at where I shot her and saw that it wasn't life threatening but still bleeding pretty bad. I carefully picked her up and then walked back into the motel. Thankfully no one saw me and I made it into our room okay. As soon as I walked in I saw Sam with a first aid kit with some gloves on.
"So that's why you ran?" I said annoyed.
"Yeah, sorry I didn't tell you. I just reacted and well... here I am" he said throwing his arms in the air.
I rolled my eyes and gently laid the girl on my bed that Sam had already prepared. He came over and placed a warm rag on her forehead. But the only way to do that was to move her hair to the sides of her face. As he place the warm towel on her, I stared at all her features (not in a creepy way. I'm just observing). Her long black hair, fair skin, and whatnot. She seemed so familiar to me. Almost as if I had seen her somewhere before.
I wonder what color her eyes are? I thought to myself.
I decided to say screw it and lifted up one of her eyelids. She had chocolate brown colored eyes. I just about fell backwards. Sam gave me a funny and concerned look.
"You okay?" he asked giving me that look.
"Yeah... I guess so" I whispered back.
This can't be happening. This girl is someone I know. But it's not from real life. It's from my nightmare.
