Chapter 11: Nightmare...
*Third's Pov*
He couldn't see a thing...
Darkness surrounded him in all directions.
But he wasn't alone. For some reason, he felt multiple pairs of eyes watching him.
He looked around to see if anyone was within his angle but all he could see was the unforgiving black substance.
Drip...
Drip...
Drip...
Jake: What the...?
Drip...
Drip...
Drip...
Almost like what makes sound of the vibrate, he could hear something generate a iconic, annoying tone of a noise.
It could be water...
If so...then why was the water in the color shade of red...?
Drip...
Drip...
Drip...
Blood...
It Was Blood...
It sounded so creepy and metallic, Jake felt like physical reaction of fear. Be was starting to sweat and heart being to increase.
His physical response was this.
Fight or flight.
Just like he did earlier.
He choose flight.
Before once he started running, everywhere he go, he continued to hear the metallic sound of blood dropping down to the never ending floor.
Drip...
Drip...
Drip...
That's when he noticed the puddle of blood staining the black floor and before he knew it...he begin to follow it.
Some people were adrenaline seeks, Jake was one of them. He stupidly follow the end of the bloody trail only to stop to finally see who the blood belongs too.
It was the dog...
Jake: Ah...Ah...
No...
He shouldn't be here...
He saw the dog earlier. Dead already. So why was he seeing it again.
He didn't get the time to processed everything that was happening right here and now as he saw something moving through the darkness of the room in the motel...
It was a shadow...
Moving on it's own...
Yes, a shadow can move faster than the speed of light. But this doesn't break any physical law, because a shadow is not a real object. A shadow is the absence of light...
But since there was no light...only darkness.
Jake could clearly see it move...only for his horror...he saw that thing grew eyes and the shadow begin to move towards him.
The creature raised it's long shadowy claws towards him. Jake couldn't move.
No matter how much he tried.
He remained still.
He couldn't move.
He couldn't breathe.
He couldn't blink.
Even time was at a stand still as he stood face to face with the mysterious entity before it grabbed him.
Jake: GAAAH?!
He woke up startled before looking around the room with wide eyes. Sweat beamed down his forehead and he tried catching his breathe from the nightmare induced dream he suffered from.
Jake: Just a dream...Just a dream...
Suddenly, he felt his arm hurt for some reason. He felt some hot smearing pain. Confused he turned to his arms, only to stare in horror at what was shown.
Jake: W-What is this...?
There were claw marks on his arms.
There was no way he made those by himself even if he was scratching himself.
Jake: (Was all that...really a dream?)
Tommy: J-Jake?
The older brother turned his head to his little brother who were both sharing the same bed. Melody was in the other bed a few spaces away snoring.
Tommy: Everything all right?
Jake: Y-Yeah...Everything's fine... Can't sleep because the glasses nerd was snoring loudly.
Said glasses nerd was asleep and off in her own la-la land.
He was hoping Tommy wouldn't catch the hesitation in his voice. He did much to his annoyance.
Tommy: Did you had a nightmare?
Jake: You...could say that.
Tommy: Would you like to sleep with Barry? He always keeps the bad dreams away when I'm sleeping.
Jake wanted to rebuke his younger brother and call him a dumb baby. But he wanted to get some sleep. He didn't want to be the only one staying up through the night.
Jake: Yeah...I...would like that...thanks.
Tommy smiled and nodded before giving him Barry. The older brother reluctantly took the teddy bear.
Tommy: No matter what happens. Barry would protect you! He always protected me.
Jake wanted to snort at that. Damn bear barely does shit around here. Well. It's supposed to because it is a stuffed animal.
Jake: I'll keep that in mind.
Tommy nodded happily before going back to sleep. After a few minutes, Jake was once again awake. Even if his siblings were in the same room with him. He felt alone...
However...
Like what happend in his dreams, he felt the pair of eyes gazing at him again.
The strange feeling of being watched.
He hated that feeling...because he wished he was wrong. He clutched onto the stuffed bear and looked down at it.
Jake: Alright then...Barry...Let's go to sleep.
Before he knew it, he was knocked out once again in the bed holding onto Barry, feeling the pleasant dreams coming ahead. He guess Tommy was right.
Somehow. Barry goes keep the bad dreams away.
.....
On their floor. Little did they know, the feeling of being watching came back as what happend in Jake's dream. Shadowy figures appeared at the window....watching.
