Happy Friday the 13th!
Side Note: Sadly I couldn't find any Nightmare before Christmas fanart involving Birdflash. I did look hard for some but came up empty. I've used a Birdflash fanart as the cover pic to let everyone know it was Birdflash but I used some Christmas before Nightmare fanart in this chapter since I wanted some fanart linked to the film.

Barry finds his nephew sighing dreamily yet again inside the laboratory, not being very careful with sticking Barry and Iris daughter's legs to her body. Barry was merely glad he was the one to find his nephew distracted while working on the twins instead of his wife otherwise Wally would be facing a very long lecture from Iris.
Their Frankenstein monsters family were an odd one but fitted in perfectly in Halloween town. All were thrilled to learn that Allen and Iris had decided to grow their family by creating twins and the Allen-West family have been working hard but smart into bringing the twins to life. Only using the best limbs and thread to create the twins.
And why Wally was just as excited to be an older brother, even as he's a young adult himself now, he was caught up in the matters of his heart, again.
It was no secret that Barry and Iris oldest son was in love with the Pumpkin King. Wally has been smitten for Dick since they had became best friends the moment they had first met so long ago. Dick had came across a crying Wally who's leg had fallen off and all the other children had ran off laughing afterwards. Dick had hugged Wally until he felt better before carrying him home, a funny sight to all in town as Wally was two years older and a little taller than the tiny Dick Grayson-Wayne was.
Wally had fell head over heels for his best friend since and felt like he had the biggest honour in the world as he stood as Dick's best friend during their childhood. Iris having found Wally making himself a best friend medal award to place up in his room.
Now years later, Wally was still crushing hard for his best friend with no thought to confess. Even if everyone knew Wally's feelings were returned ten times by Dick. Dick's been flirting and complimenting Wally since their teenager years, Wally just assumed he was being a "good dude" to him.
"The Pumpkin Prince is paying us a visit later on. Might be best if you go pay a visit to a certain Pumpkin King beforehand. Let Bruce know his oldest is doing well. Not crumbling under the stress" Barry announced as he walked towards his eldest, jolting him out of his own head and bringing him back to Halloween town life.
"Bruce should just visit himself. I'm not his spy" Wally bitterly scoffed back as he tied the thread, finishing his sewing.
"I don't agree with Bruce's parenting, the first time or sometimes since, but I think it's best he gives Dick some space. He can't act like nothing happened when Dick took the Pumpkin King crown and left Bruce as Pumpkin Prince at the sweet age of nine. Neither reacted well to such a sudden change. Bruce felt he needed to teach Dick to be the best, to help his son keep his crown while Dick felt pressured and burdened by everyone's expectations and hero worship now aimed at him" Barry mumbled back with an heavy frown, shoulders slumping as he remembered the moment the father and son duo's good relationship suddenly grew strained and cracked. Those early years were rough to watch and neither had healed since that time.
"We both know that Bruce is a little bitter that his oldest stole his crown that he had for centuries before Dick came along" Wally huffed back as he rolled his eyes, spinning on his chair to face his uncle better and the best father he's ever had.
"His face was priceless when the crowns were given out that year" Barry snickered back, armament flickering in his stolen eyes.
"I'm going to visit Dick. Not for Bruce. I'm just worried for him. He gets stressed after Halloween with Mayor Babs trying to began next Halloween plans so soon" Wally mumbled as he slipped from the stool, slipping his lab coat off as he headed towards the laboratory door.
"Say hi for me" Barry calls out, waving goodbye towards his nephew.
"Will do" Wally yells back as he heads for the front door.
Barry waits until he hears the front door close before taking a seat on the stool that Wally had been using. Grabbing a needle and thread before finally turning towards his daughter.
"Now, let's sew that leg on the right way, sweetie" Barry told his daughter who's leg was sewn on backwards due to Wally being so distracted in his own head.
Wally walks with his hands shoved in his coat pocket, keeping his head down and making his way towards Dick's tower. Purposely going nowhere near the creepy and spooky Wayne manor where the Dark Knight lives, the Pumpkin Prince.
Dick's more cheerful and welcoming in it's own promise of death tower was always Wally's favourite place in Halloween Town. It was scary but held a more cheerful twist to it. It felt safe.
Even with Dick's pranksters bodyguards better known as his younger siblings. Jason, Tim and Damian were the best Trick or Treaters in all of Halloween Town. The three would grow up to be amazing scarcest once they're older in a few hundred years. Dick was teaching his brothers well and in return, they normally helped to stop the rest of the town just letting themselves into Dick's home to admire him up close or bother him with random things.
Damian still chopped off one of Wally's hands whenever he enters Dick's place. But at least Jason and Tim has stopped pranking him by now. Gaining their respect after the whole stealing Christmas incident with Dick during their late teen years.
Dick had decided that his only worth was standing as everyone's Pumpkin King in Halloween Town. That he held no personality or skill on his own that wasn't giving the human heart attacks and terrifying nightmares that last through generations of families.
Dick had fallen to feel like a puppet for everyone to place all their hopes and unreachable expectations. Pointing out is flaws so easily and overlooking his talents. Gushing over him like a god but never actual seeing him as a person.
Dick had felt like he needed to prove himself, to the town and to himself.
And as Dick's best friend, Wally joined him for the adventure of stealing Christmas and turning someone else's holiday into their own. It was going rather smoothly at first before the plans were leaked by a nosey Tim who showed Babs who assumed it was somehow a whole new scare plan.
Christmas was turned from being the light of the world to the darkness of it instead.
Everything had grown so out of control and Dick was still on Clark Claus naughty list and would stay on the list for years to come.
Wally merely high fives Jason and Tim, praising the two for their good work on protecting their oldest brother before heading for the long and uneven steps of the towers staircase. Sewing his sliced off hand awkwardly with the one hand he still had. Damian's threats of bodily harm acting as background sound as Wally starts up the staircase.
Once reaching the time, Wally's hand sewn on, Wally steps inside the large master bedroom and finds Dick draped over the roof of his bed, clearly needing to be somewhere high while trapped with his thoughts and pouting over his feelings.
"How are you holding up?" Wally asks stupidly as he heads for the ladder, one kept purposely by the end of the massive bed for Wally's sole use to reach the bed's roof to join Dick during moments like this.
"I feel like trying to steal Christmas again" Dick sighed as he blankly stared up at his ceiling.
"Why don't we try taking over Easter this time?" Wally offered up instead as he laid beside Dick, laying so close that they could feel the others body heat seep into their own bodies.
"Hal would complain to B and I can't be bothered to deal with that argument right now" Dick reminded the other with a heavy frown, not wanting to deal with another fight with his Dad.
"Why don't we get away? Visit Christmas Town. The catchy songs always cheer you up" Wally asked back with an sweet smile, taking hold of Dick's hand and lacing their fingers together.
"With Halloween barely ending two days ago, Clark would see me as a threat instead of a guest" Dick pointed out with an grimace, knowing Clark will never allow them in his town between Halloween and Christmas ever again.
"Not if I'm there with you" Wally shot back with a very strained hopeful voice.
"Wally, you told Jason and Tim to steal Mrs Claus in hopes to learn how the Reindeers are able to fly. Lois might tell the story like a fond memory but Clark still keeps you on the naughty list because of it" Dick deadpanned as he turned his head to stare at the other and reminded him over his own crimes that year.
"We could visit Valentine Town?" Wally replied with, happily moving the conversation along and not wanting to bring up the past Halloween Christmas incident.
"Diana promised to shoot arrows into us where it'd hurt the undead if we stepped one foot into her town again after we accidently spiked the chocolates" Dick mumbled back with an frown, shuffling uncomfortably at the mere pictured she had painted them during her threat.
"I still don't understand why we got in trouble for that. I hear that was the human's best Valentine day ever in history. She should be letting us help her more often. She even still uses the recipe we made up" Wally complained, sulking over it all as he found it completely unfair they got punished for the best thing invented for Valentines day.
"What about Guy Fakes town?" Dick asked back as he raised an unsure eyebrow.
"Not after you blew off Oliver's goatee that one time. Dinah was thankful for it but Oliver has given up a five years ban since" Wally replied with an weak smile, knowing Oliver would tie them to the next firework if they returned before the ban was lifted.
"I don't fancy visiting Thanks Giving town again. Being chased by Cass and Steph is never fun. They peck hard" Dick sighed as he stared up at his ceiling more, tired over the same view as always.
"Guess we're staying here" Wally pointed out, squeezing their joint hands.
"I wish I could give up my crown. But I can't. The town just returns it" Dick complained with an tired frown, growing more resentful over the crown every year.
"Why not share the burden of the crown with someone somehow?" Wally advised without thinking much over what he was saying. Just wanting to stop Dick from hurting so much and looking like he was carrying the universe on his shoulders all the time.
"I could just marry you but Iris says I have to wait until you realize I've been flirting with you for years before we're allowed to marry" Dick muttered back with an upset frown as he rolled onto his side, staring pointedly at the man he was madly in love with that just wouldn't catch the obvious hint.
"Marriage might work. I would marry you but I think I'd blush too hard and set myself on fire if you admitted loving me" Wally mumbled back carelessly, pouting with rosy cheeks as he knew he'd burst into flames if Dick showed any open interest in him.
"At this rate I'll never get married" Dick blurted out with dread, accepting he'd forever be single at this rate.
And finally a few years later, everything worked out just fine.
Christmas had been saved the year of the incident, though there wasn't much time left at the time. Something Clark often liked to point out when retelling the story to those in Christmas Town.
But, after that night, so long ago, things were never the same. Each holiday now knew the other one's name.
And so when their long isolation had ended. They cautiously reached out, and slowly befriended. And each shared a bit of the things that they had With each other, and found out it wasn't so bad.
They had snowflakes in Halloween, those that could be spare. And in Christmas enjoyed a few scares.
The fireworks gave the Easter Bunnies a thrill. And St. Patrick's Day cherishes Easter Eggs still.
And though that one Christmas, things got out of hand, Clark would soon grow rather fond of that skeleton man. Though misguided, Santa think his intentions were good, as were his friend's. He was just a poor skeleton misunderstood.
So many years later Clark thought he'd drop in. And there was old Dick, still looking quite thin. With three Frankenstein children at hand Playing strange little tunes in their xylophone band. All three children a clear mixture of their Tati and Dad.
And I asked my darling Husband,
"Do you remember the night, When the sky was so dark, and the moon shone so bright. When a million small children pretending to sleep Nearly didn't have Christmas at all, so to speak? And would, if you could, turn that mighty clock back To that long fateful night? Now, think carefully, Dick"
"Would you do the whole thing all over again? Knowing what you know now, knowing what you knew then?"
And he smiled like the old Pumpkin King that I knew and have always fallen for, Then turned, and asked softly of me in return..
"Wouldn't you?"
And I knew I wouldn't have changed a thing as I shared another sweet kiss with my husband, staring warmly to our three children as they played and their laughter filled our loving home.
...The End...
