sixty two
louis was leaned against the headboard, laptop on his thighs and glasses sitting on his nose as he searched for wedding themes again. ever since harry brought up the honeymoon, he's gone stir crazy about it. they haven't really talked about the wedding much since raven was born, so he's just juggling some ideas to bring up to his soon to be husband.
"baby bird," the lad hums, looking over at his daughter. she was propped up on her boppy pillow right beside him, facing the same way he was towards the telly. louis had music playing on youtube to fill the room with some noise aside from his child's occasional giggle or 'aahh' when something caught her attention.
"what do we think about this one?" he tilted his laptop over a bit to show her pictures of a black and red wedding theme. he and harry mentioned the colors before, but they never sat and actually planned anything.
the baby just stared blankly at him for a few seconds before adverting her attention back to the toy in her hands.
"okay then," louis sighs. "should we try this one?" he shows her a different picture.
"ah," raven cooed.
her dad grinned. "ah, is right, little one," he chuckled. "thank you. i appreciate your input."
"honey, are you having conversations with the baby again?" harry poked his head in the doorway.
louis nodded his head as he scrolled along different websites for ideas, shrugging his shoulders.
"ever since i had her it seems like nobody wants to be around anymore, so she's my friend," he moves his computer and kisses his daughter's head. "she's my best friend."
his fiancé let out a small 'aw' and sat on the edge of the bed. "'m sorry, love," he put his hand on louis' knee. "i hate that you feel that way."
louis told him it was fine, they're all adults doing adult things now. even though most of louis' friends were in the gang, nobody really contacted him anymore. usually it's just to ask if harry's around or how raven is doing. call him selfish but he wants people to know he's okay too. he's doing great, actually. he's planning a wedding with the love of his life and they're raising their baby girl together. he could never be better.
"what are you and our spawn talking about?"
louis gave him the side eye for the 'spawn' comment. "i don't think i'm gonna tell you now."
raven got excited at the sound of her daddy's voice and started bouncing in her spot. more like kicking her legs around and shuffling up and down. harry leaned above her and brushed his hair in her face, smiling big when she began to giggle and squeal in excitement. "hi my baby," harry murmured. "what are you and your dad talking about?"
"i don't think she's gonna tell you either."
harry kissed his daughter's cheeks and grabbed louis' laptop. louis pouted because he wanted to surprise harry with the ideas but they might as well talk about it while the topic is in the air now that he noticed the screen.
"ooh," harry hums. "we're not paying her for this, are we?"
louis snorts and took their daughter from him. "we're gonna make her rich."
harry shrugged and nods anyways. "i'm digging these."
"well look at that," louis said quietly to raven. "we agreed on those."
raven cooed and laid her head on louis' shoulder. they had aimed for the wedding to be when she could walk better so that she could be the flower girl, but louis is wanting to see if they can plan it sooner because something deep inside of him just really wants to get married. he and harry have been together for quite sometime now and they have a child together. if the two of them ever split up- which would never happen, they would go batshit crazy without eachother- louis knew harry would do everything in his power to make sure his baby girl had both dads in her life one way or another.
harry closed louis's laptop and laid his head by his fiancé's thigh, pressing a gentle kiss to his naked leg. he was wearing harry's favorite aerosmith shirt and a pair of boxers, rarely ever wearing pants now that he never leaves the house. "i could go with the white roses, goes with the color scheme."
"really?" louis grinned. "i was gonna suggest red ones, but-"
"nope," harry stops him. "my loves like the white, so white it is."
louis let out a tiny squeal of excitement and pulled harry up to kiss him. "i love your whole face."

harry's heart was pumping harder than he had ever felt before.
being nervous was one thing, but absolute fear was another. he's watched his family cling to their last moments of life. he's witnessed his brother be shot, his father figure in handcuffs once before and taken in for questioning. nobody could ever bust them, but the thought still crossed his mind daily. especially now that his daugher and fiancé is in the mix, if harry were to get arrested louis would lose his mind.
he was used to the gang life in some aspects. he was used to slinging drugs and bashing some brains in every once in a while. but he wasn't used to black suv's following him everywhere he went. undercover cops were the new thing around town, trying to pop up on drug deals and get bragging rights for their unit. in harry's eyes they were shittier than real cops because they sucked at doing their job of being undercover. if they can spot you, you've failed.
harry takes a quick turn to the left, following every road safety protocol he knew and made an easy escape from whoever was following him by taking a detour to his dad's place. he parked his car in the garage so it wouldn't be spotted and he headed in the house, rushing up the steps and barged in evan's office where the man was on the phone with his head in his hands.
"i would not give a rat's ass if the man lost his eye and was using a bouncy ball to replace it, get me my fucking money or two bouncy balls will be in use." he threw his phone on his desk and huffed. "fucking christ."
"bouncy balls, pops?"
"my granddaughter has an obsession with them, first thing that came to mind."
the younger man chuckled and sat in the chair in front of the desk. "i've got eyes on me."
evan's head whips up. harry nods in confidence and crosses his arms. "swear on everything."
"fuck," evan groaned. "fuck, shit. okay. where did you see them?"
"they've been following me all week," his son shrugged. "they're everywhere pretty positive they know where my house is."
"you need to get louis and my grandbaby to the safehouse. any of them. mine, zayn's, whatever. don't let them trail back to you, hear me?"
"i won't," harry promised. "i can't miss out on my kid, dad. she's my everything."
evan murmured a small 'i know' and pinches the bridge of his nose. "where's your car?"
harry tells him it's in the garage and hands him the keys. evan gives him the keys to his own vehicle, telling him to put raven's carseat in it and use it until the spies go away. harry appreciated the man, he had a heart even though half the time he was a pure asshole. he's pretty sure it's only because of raven though. trisha popped in the room when she saw her son and greeted him with a kiss to his head before offering him a drink. harry declined, telling her his nerves were a bit shot right now after explaining to her what happened and he just wanted to make it home safe.
"do you need me to follow you out?" trisha asked.
"it'd make me feel a bit better," harry sighed. "this is bullshit. louis has been through so much dealing with all of this that i'm honestly scared he's gonna end up walking out one of these days."
evan reached over and smacked him on the back of his head. "you keep talking stupid and i'll have to pistol whip you. if he wanted out he would have dropped you the minute he found out about you."
trisha nods in agreement before excusing herself to grab her purse. she comes back with her bag and something else in her hands, saying it gives her an excuse to see her baby girl and follows harry out of the house. evan watches from the window and kept his eye on the two vehicles until he they were out of eyesight and let out a frustrated sigh. this isn't good.
anxious to get home to his family, harry nearly fell out of the car when he parked in the driveway and booked it to the door with his mom in tow. his fiancé was in the kitchen with music blaring, food on the stove and bouncing their baby on his hip. her hands were grasped around a teething ring since she had another tooth coming in. she chewed on nearly everything in sight but this kept her from trying to gnaw harry's fingers off.
"hi," louis greets him with a kiss. he noticed trisha out of the corner of his eye and turns. "hey you!"
trisha kissed his cheek and took her granddaughter when she was offered to her. "hi my loves, it's so good to see you guys," she crooned. raven babbled her little heart out as her grandmum bounced her and walked around the kitchen.
as louis turned the dials on the stove down, harry quietly asked to speak to him in the living room. he grabbed his hand and led him out, taking a look around their home and louis asked him what was going on. he could feel something was wrong by the way harry hugged him close. it wasn't one of those happy love filled hugs or the hug just because i want one type. it was that embrace harry once held him in before when things were going to go to shit.
"evan wants us to go to a safehouse for a bit," harry says calmly. he had to be calm. if louis saw him fall apart it wouldn't be good. it was too soon to freak out, maybe it wasn't as bad as he was making it out to be.
"is everything okay, haz?" louis rubs the small of the man's back. he took it as a no by the way harry sighed.
"everything's alright for now, but i think someone's been following me and he just wants you and raven somewhere safe until this dies off. i dunno if it's cops or another gang wanting to take us out, but it needs to stop now and you can't be in the middle of this."
louis frowned and placed his cheek on harry's chest. they just went through the shit with liam and now this? will this ever end?
"let raven go home with trish tonight," louis says. "i can pack some stuff up for us and we can leave tomorrow morning."
"you sure?" harry quizzes. "she can stay with us tonight, love."
louis shook his head and pulled away. "my baby comes before anyone. she needs to be away as soon as possible. like you said, you don't know what it could be. why take the risk?"
his fiancé pressed his lips to his forehead. "you gonna be okay?"
"i have you," louis assured. "i'll be fine."
