Assignment
3rd person (pov)
Three young girls were standing in front of a small yet magnificent Japanese pagoda. Despite it being the size of a normal house, it was quite a sight.
The three girls, all three looking at the age of thirteen, stared up at the pagoda, intrigued by the beauty and mystery of the home.
"Why doesn't she come out during the day? She used to when she was younger." Said the shortest girl of the group with blond hair. She got a few shrugs in response
"Dunno. And she only comes out every once-in-a-while to show and sell her art or get groceries. She's quite a strange girl." Said the tallest girl of the group, receiving nods in agreement from the other two girls.
They all took one last gaze at the house, then turned and continued their conversation as they walked through the market.
~Meanwhile, inside the pagoda~
(Y/n) was busy mixing paints as she stood in front of a canvas. She glanced over at her beautiful white tiger Yara.
"I need you to stay still for a bit while I paint you, okay, Yara?" Said the mysterious (h/c)-haired girl.
She earned a purr from her tiger as she lied down on the nearby carpet, placing her head on her paws as her tail remained relaxed by her side.
(Y/n) smiled and sat down at her canvas, grabbing a pencil as she began to sketch out her large tiger's figure. She moved her pencil lightly and gracefully, as if she were sketching a cloud on a bright blue sky. Each line was smooth and careful, every curve sleek, and every point sharp and dead-on like a dart to a bull's eye.
Soon the sketch was finished, looking exactly like the white tiger it was modeled after. (Y/n) had picked up her paints and brush, beginning to paint her elegant white tiger, Yara. She painted Yara in the forest, near a beautiful stream with flowers and cattails.
(Y/n) was in the middle of her painting, when she heard a bell ring. She lifted her head and quickly set her paints down, putting aside her painting for the moment as she hurried over to her phone. She quickly picked it up and put it to her ear.
"Hello? This is (y/n)." She said.
Her eyes soon widened for a split second, then narrowed as she nodded her head.
"Alright. I'll be there as soon as I can." She immediately put down her phone and rushed into her room. She went to her dresser and pulled out a pair of black leggings with a (f/c) stripe down the side, a single-layered black skirt, a tight, black and (f/c) shirt with long sleeves that loosened at the end, and a black mask that covered her face, but not her hair or eyes. She quickly slipped on the clothing and grabbed a pair of katanas, along with a few daggers, which she hid in her pair of tight, black, knee-high boots.
(Y/n) then hurried her way to her door, putting on a cloak that covered her body. She pulled up her hood to conceal her identity and went to her back door, quickly sneaking out of it to avoid drawing attention.
She secretly made her way down the alleyways of her town, Yara trailing behind her.
The two ran down a few alleyways before stopping at a dead end. (Y/n) placed a hand on the wall, pushing it backwards as the wall moved to her touch.
She silently made her way inside and down a set of stairs, silent as her tiger behind her.
As she got to the end of the stairs, she heard many voices of people, making her secretly peek around the corner to see if she had gone to the correct meeting place. She nodded to confirm this and walked into the meeting room, catching the attention of the six men and three women in the room.
"Welcome, (y/n)." Said an older man with red hair and piercing gold eyes.
"Why did you call me here?" (Y/n) responded, walking over to the man while taking off her hood and staring at him straight on.
"You have a new mission." The man continued.
"Go on."
"You are to be assigned to protect a certain young man. We know it is possible for him to protect himself, but he has a group of assassins after him. He doesn't know this, so don't tell him. You will be going undercover as his assistant, a new trainee swordswoman." He explained.
(Y/n) gave a slightly unpleasant look.
"I'm a ninja, Mr. Tagowa, not an undercover agent."
Tagowa let out a silent sigh.
"I know that, (y/n). I'm the one that recruited you here. But I am giving you this job because I know that only you could pull it off. Keep a straight mind and defend the young man at all costs." He said, shooting (y/n) a serious look, which she returned with a nod.
"What's his name?" She asked.
Mr. Tagowa handed her a paper and photograph of a young man with spiky red hair and bright, blue eyes. He wore a cape and tunic with almost completely blue armor.
"His name is Roy Eliwood. (As far as I know, that's his last name. Please correct me if I'm wrong.) He is from Pheraen, Lycian. (Again, correct me if I'm wrong.) "
(Y/n) nodded, placing the photograph and paper in a pouch she had on her belt.
"Right. I remember where that is, it should be a piece of cake. Where's my disguise?"
"Rey has it. There is a camp waiting for you halfway there with a horse. Kio is waiting for you there. But only change when you reach that camp. We don't want you drawing attention." Tagowa said as an older girl wearing an all black ninja outfit that had blond hair walked up to (y/n), handing her a set of clothing and armor neatly folded.
(Y/n) nodded and turned around, walking back up the stairs again as she hid the clothing underneath her cloak.
She clicked her tongue once, signaling Yara to come up next to her. (Y/n) jumped onto Yara's back, riding out of the alleyway and towards the gate. Since it was now night, she could get by easily without anyone noticing her. So off she went, on her first assigned undercover guardian job.
