Chapter 8-Port Angeles

The girls' evening out gives Bella an estrogen rush which isn't at all an uncomfortably awkward sentence or anything.

Bella finds out that the boy who almost killed her with his van has been telling the whole school he's taking her to prom. Bella has had no intentions of going to prom with anyone. She gets in a bad mood and I get annoyed.

While her friends bring their shopping bags to the car, Bella goes out to look for a bookstore. This is the only likable thing about her. While looking for a bookstore, she's harassed by a group of men because LITERALLY ALL THE CHARACTERS IN THIS BOOK BUT ESPECIALLY THE MALES SUCK. Except Jacob and Charlie.

The men follow her. Bella's a helpless idiot, so instead of going into any of the stores surrounding her and asking an associate for help, she just keeps walking and then she's freaking CORNERED.

Then she finds she can't even scream.

And then Edward shows up in a car and rescues her because of course he does. Immediately after their grand escape he acts snappish and controlling. Bella stares at his "flawless features."

Then he takes her out to dinner because screw girls' night, apparently. All the female servers come out of the kitchen to take a gander at perfect Edward. Edward orders nothing. He just watches Bella eat.

Bella says that after all her near-brushes with danger lately, maybe her luck is finally up, and Edward corrects that her luck was up the day she met him.

Then he reveals that he can read Bella's friend's mind or something, which is really weird and random and confusing, and the book just brushes over it.

I hated this chapter.
