Chapter 3-Phenomenon
There's a snow and ice storm but for some reason school isn't cancelled. I read a blog set in Washington. School always closes for snow up there. They don't get it very often.
Bella is excited to go to school because Edward will be there.
Meanwhile, three other boys are flinging themselves on Bella, and she wonders why, concluding that she must be "endearingly like a damsel in distress." I wish I wasn't directly quoting the book but I am.
At school, a van slides on ice and almost crushes Bella, who just stands there like a confused moose, but Edward appears out of literal thin air and saves her. He also appears to lift the van, but Bella isn't sure if her eyes are tricking her or not.
In the overreaction of the century, Bella is rushed to the hospital, where the doctor happens to be Edward's adoptive father. At least I think Edward is adopted. That part confused me. Dr. Cullen is described as handsomer than any movie star because yeah, every man in this tiny Washington town is.
Page 64, Bella and Edward have a domestic dispute because Bella demands an explanation of how Edward saved her. Bella has a hard time staying mad because of Edward's "glorious" face.
Bella is sent home but is warned to be careful because the doctors suspect a minor concussion. She goes home and sleeps which is literally number one on the list of things you're not supposed to do when suspected of a concussion.
