This is an example of what the reviews will look like and how the scoring works. Reviews will be scored out of a maximum of 50 points.

I have also provided outlines of what I'm looking for in my reviews. Making changes to fit these tips prior to submitting your application is a good way to improve your score but is by no means required.

I will try to be as detailed as I can but I cannot promise a certain word count for each review.

Title (5 points): I will be looking for its relevancy to the story, creativity, and whether it makes me want to read more.

Cover (5 points): I am not good at graphic design myself so I will not be judging too harshly on quality. I will mostly be looking for its relevancy to the story, creativity, and whether it catches my eye.

Summary (10 points): I believe that summaries are very important because they give us the first insight into your story. I will be judging summaries based on their content, length, and whether it makes me want to read more. If you have an extended summary within your book I will also judge that but remember that sometimes less is more. Generally summaries that are only quotes or excerpts from your book will receive low points because it doesn't help me to understand what the story is about.

Plot (15 points): I will be looking at creativity, originality, and flow.

Characters (10 points): I will be judging characters based on their diversity, dimensions, relatability, and how they interact with one another. Dialogue is a vital part of stories so that will also be judged. Since I'm only reading up to ten chapters I will not judge character development as harshly but ideally I would see the start of some character development.

Organization (5 points): I will be judging organization based on how easy it is to navigate your book, the complexity/simplicity of your pages, relevancy of titles, and the length of chapters. Grammar/punctuation will also be reviewed here.

Overall (out of 50 points): I will summarize the review here and provide feedback on what I liked most and what I think you could change to improve your story.
