Sight

Silverpaw could not help but hold his tail high with pride as he trotted into camp, a vole in his jaws and Shadowclaw followed behind him with two squirrels in her own jaws. "Nice catch Silverpaw!" Flamepaw called, walking up to him with respect in his eyes. "Tanms," Silverpaw replied through the vole, moving to the fresh-kill pile before placing it down as Shadowclaw did the same to the two other pieces of prey. "You did excellently, Silverpaw," Shadowclaw said, touching noses with her apprentice. "Did he catch all that by himself?" a voice, Ravenpelt, asked, her voice containing pride as she looked down at her kit. "Yes, he did. Silverpaw is an excellent hunter already; I look forward to seeing what he can do when he actually starts his training," Shadowclaw replied to Ravenpelt; the mother purred with delight as she licked Silverpaw's head. "M-mom!" Silverpaw said, his pelt heating up as he moved to get away from his mother "I can do that myself!" he said, hoping that no one saw that.

"You worked hard Silverpaw; go take a rest," Shadowclaw told her apprentice, Silverpaw nodded, but knew he was too full of energy to do anything of the sort. 'I can see if I can do what I did earlier again!' he thought to himself. As he rose to his paws, his stomach rumbled, reminding him that he needed to eat. "Hey Flamepaw; do you want to share the vole with me? I can't eat it all by myself; its fat!" Silverpaw asked his friend as another apprentice walked up to them. "Excuse me; may I try it as well?" she asked, shuffling the ground with her paws.

As she looked up, SIlverpaw felt his heart race as he gazed into her forest-green eyes, getting lost in them, her grey-stripped fur bringing out her eyes greatly. "S-sure! Who are you?" Silverpaw asked as he picked up the vole for the three of them to share. "My name is Sorrelpaw, who are you? I have seen you before, but you were always asleep," the she-cat said, purring with amusement, Flamepaw doing the same. Silverpaw felt his pelt heat up as he led the other two to a tree stump beside the apprentice den, settling down to eat with them.

"Do you have anything to do for the rest of the day?" Silverpaw asked the other two as he took a bite of the vole, enjoying the taste of it. "I am training with Froststorm later today; he was busy this morning, so he is giving me time to rest," Flamepaw replied. "I am working with Oakfern to learn herbs; I am thinking of being a medicine cat, but I am not sure," Sorrelpaw replied, looking thoughtful. "Really? Why?" Silverpaw asked, deeply interested. "I don't know; the idea of saving lives just appeals to me," Sorrelpaw replied, chewing on a bite of the vole. "I could never be a medicine cat; I like the life of a warrior," Flamepaw said, getting a swat from Sorrelpaw's tail. "I will like for you to say that when you have a stomach ache and complain to Oakfern about it!" she said teasingly.

Silverpaw could only smile as he ate, watching them argue. "I have the day to rest, but I was wondering if you would like to spend the day with me, Sorrelpaw," Silverpaw asked, looking down as his pelt heated up. "Sure thing! I would just need to spend my time with Oakfern; we are going over stomach ache herbs, just to let you know, Flamepaw," Sorrelpaw said, getting a mrrow of laughter from Silverpaw.

When they finished eating, Silverpaw told Sorrelpaw that he would be in the apprentice's den. "See you later," he said, bolting from his spot, wanting to see if he could see again. He shimmed his way into the den before getting into his nest, making himself comfortable before closing his eyes, thinking he would see something.

He saw nothing.

"What?" he said, opening his eyes, but he closed his eyes concentrating on being still. 'I wonder what Sorrelpaw is doing right now,'  Silverpaw thought to himself as his vision suddenly turned to color, almost making him lose the vision. Sorrelpaw was sorting herbs to make a mixture to cure stomach pains, Oakfern telling her why poppy seeds were necessary to help with stomach aches. "Poppy seeds are used in a mixture to help stomach pains go away because they help numb the pain. You need to mix poppy seeds and elder leaves for the patient to swallow. These two will ease the pain, as well as lead them to sleep, making it easier for them to recover,' Oakfern told her, Sorrelpaw nodding as a result. 'If they are complaining of a headache, Feverfew will help as well,' Oakfern informed her as he showed her the plant; Sorrelpaw nodded, looking like she was concentrating intensely. Silverpaw watched as Sorrelpaw worked, admiring her and her cleverness with herbs. 'You really are smart, aren't you?; Silverpaw thought to himself with a smile; Sorrelpaw looked up from her sorting with an embarrassed smile. "Thank you Oakfern; you are a great teacher!" Sorrelpaw replied with a happy purr.

Suddenly, Silverpaw felt a push before his vision went black, getting a brief feeling of panic to enter his heart before Silverpaw snapped his eyes open, panting. "Silverpaw! Are you in there?" a voice called from outside the den. "ONe moment!" Silverpaw called, his mind racing as he scrambled out of his nest.

How did I do that?' Silverpaw thought to himself.
