It took a lot of effort but in the end, we managed to take down the Crusader tank

Yuuka: Finally!

Evan: That was reckless of you Yuuka. Blindly charging in like that.

I scolded Yuuka as I approached her

Hasumi: I agree with sensei. You were much too reckless back there Yuuka

Before I could continue scolding Yuuka, our earpieces went off

Rin: We've successfully secured the Schale club room. I'll be meeting you all in the basement

*Third Person POV

At the basement of Schale, Wakamo is searching for something

Wakamo: This is boring. What am I even searching for in the first place?

Wakamo was about to give up when she heard footsteps coming down

Wakamo: Oh?

Wakamo watched as Evan walked down the stairs into the basement. Upon seeing Wakamo, Evan jumped back, swung his left arm and out of instinct, summoned his Staff of First Dawn, temporarily forgetting he must not show who he really is during this time

Wakamo: ...

Wakamo looked at the Staff of First Dawn, then looked at Evan before running towards Evan, pushing him aside for the stairs.

Wakamo: I'm just leaving!

Wakamo said as she left Schale

Mir: What was that all about master?

Mir asked as he went up to Evan's side, still in his black dog form

Evan: I don't know

Mir: Also master, you may want to look at your left arm

Mir pointed out, making Evan realise he just summoned one of his weapons out of pure instinct

Evan: Oh no. This is bad. If that Wakamo girl leaks this info out, it will be all over. Everyone, including those students I fought with will be hunting me down. Mir, we must find a place to hide if such info were to be leaked somehow

Evan TYH: Foreshadowing?

Mir: Worry about that later master. Someone is coming!

The two stopped talking for a moment before they heard footsteps approaching the door that Wakamo just used to flee Schale

Mir: Master, put that thing away. We can worry about a hiding place later

There was a flash of light with sparkles as the Staff of First Dawn disappeared from Evan's hand just as Rin entered the basement

Rin: Who are you talking to just now sensei? What was that light?

Rin questioned once she entered the basement

Evan: Nothing. Anything you need Rin?

Rin looked at Evan before climbing down the stairs

Rin: If you insist, Sensei. Back to the task at hand. Here is what the General Student Council President left behind

Rin goes to a corner of the basement and rummages through it before taking out what looks like a smart tablet

Rin: thankfully it has not been scratched too badly

Rin then passes Evan the smart tablet

Rin: Please take it

Evan: A smart tablet?

Rin: Yes. This is what the General Student Council President left for you. The Shittim chest

Evan: Shittim Chest?

Evan (thoughts): what kind of name is that? Shit in Chest? Also, why does it sound familiar?

Rin: it may be a tablet but its origins are mysterious. Its manufacturer, OS, system structure and components are all a mystery. The General Student Council President left the Shittim Chest for you. She says you'll be able to take control of the tower with it. None of the other members know how to activate it. Perhaps you'll figure out how to sensei. If not then...

Evan: ...

Rin: ...

Rin: My job here is done. I shall let you take the lead. I'll step away so that I won't interfere

Rin said her final words before leaving the basement. After Rin is gone, Evan picked up the Shittim Chest

Evan: How do I activate this thing?

Mir: Now that Rin is gone, Try using your magic to activate

Evan: That could work

Evan then summoned his Staff of First Dawn again and was about to try and activate the Shittim Chest before remembering something. De summoning his Staff of First Dawn, Evan picked up the Shittim Chest

Evan: We thirst for the Seven Wailings. We bear the Koan of Jericho

The tablet turned on and emitted a bright light, bringing Evan to another place

Mir: Master!

Password Accepted

User identified as Evan. Confirmed.

Once the light died down, I found myself in a classroom flooded with water. At one of the desks, a student is resting on the table

???: Zzz.... Zzz.... Castilla Cake... Banana Milk is better than Strawberry Milk. Zzz.... Heehee. There's still so much left

I then went to the desk and gently shook the girl awake

Evan: Oi Wake up

The girl giggled as she felt my shaking

???: Heehee... not yet... Zzz...

I then shook a bit harder until the girl finally woke up. The girl yawns as she tried to process what's going on

???: What's going on?

The girl's eyes widen upon seeing me

???: Huh? Uh... huh? Wha? S-sensei?! If you're here, does that mean you're Evan Sensei?

I nodded my head

Evan: Yes. I'm Evan. Who are you?

The girl panicked a bit more

???: So I'm right! What time is it?! Wait... Calm Down.

The girl calmed herself down before speaking again

???: Ummm right. I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Arona, the main OS of the Shittim Chest. Think of me as your trusty secretary sensei!

Evan (thoughts): So like Enterprise and Illustrious. Hope those two are managing the base well in my place

Arona then spoke again

Arona: I'm so glad to finally meet you. I've been waiting a long time for you

Evan: Weren't you sleeping just now?

Arona's face turned red, seeing that she's caught in the act

Arona: Well I may have dozed off a little back there

Evan: Anyway, nice to meet you too Arona

Arona: Yes! I'm happy to hear that Sensei. My physical form is still small and my voice could use a serious upgrade. but I'm sure I can still prove to be useful to you sensei. oh right! Let's complete your biological authentication. Umm... this is a bit embarrassing but it's all part of the protocol. Could you stand a bit closer to me?

I did according to what Arona asked me and stepped a bit closer to her

Arona: just a liiiittle closer

I stepped a bit more closer to Arona

Arona: Please press your fingertip against mine

Arona instructed as she held up her hand, waiting for me to press my fingertip on hers

Evan: Hai

I did as she told me. There was a tingly sensation for a few seconds before there was nothing

Arona: Biological Authentication done. Heehee. It's like we're making a promise to each other

Arona giggled once the authentication is done

Evan (mumble): promises are meant to be broken

Evan TYH Another Foreshadowing?

i mumbled as i snickered a little

Arona: Did you say something sensei?

Evan: nothing! Anyway, aren't fingerprint scanners supposed to be instant nowadays?

Arona: What? Fingerprint Scanners are instant?! But I don't have such a high tech feature. I mean I don't need these kinds of features! My eyes will do the trick just fine

Evan: Suuure

Arona: Hmm. you don't seem convinced

Arona was speechless before sobbing and nudging me

Arona: Why don't you just leave me for Airi if that's how you feel! Go be with an AI girl that has all the high tech features you want!

Evan: Calm down Arona. it was just a joke!

I said trying to calm Arona down which eventually worked. Arona glared at me in anger

Arona: Hmph

After cheering Arona up, I then explained what has happened lately outside the Shittim Chest

Arona: I see. a lot has been going on lately. The General Student Council President has gone missing and there's no way to control the Kivotos Tower now

Evan Yes. Do you know anything about the General Student Council President?

Arona pondered for a moment before replying

Arona: I have lots of data of all of Kivotos. But I know very little about the General Student Council President. Who she is or why she disappeared, I don't know

Evan: I see

Arona: I wish I was more helpful. But I think I can help with the Sanctum Tower Problem

Evan: Really?!

Arona: Yes. Just let me restore the access permissions to the Sanctum Tower

Evan: Thanks Arona

Arona: Sure. Just give me a minute

Arona closed her eyes for a few moments before opening them again

Arona: Sanctum Tower Admin Permissions acquired. We've successfully regained Sanctum Tower sensei. The tower is now under my control

Evan: Yes!

Arona: That means all of Kivotos is under the palm of your hand sensei

Evan: Right. With great power comes great responsibility they say

Arona: But I can transfer control of the Sanctum Tower to the General Student Council with your approval sensei

I pondered for a moment before replying

Evan: Approved

Arona: Are you sure that's what you really want sensei? You will be giving control of the Sanctum Tower to the General Student Council

Evan: I'm sure it will be fine. go ahead

Arona: All right then. Control of the Sanctum Tower will be transferred to the General Student Council

Arona did the necessary preparations as I exited the Shittim Chest to see the lights in the basement turned on and Rin in the basement as well

Evan: I transferred control of the Sanctum Tower to the General Student Council

I told Rin just as her earpiece started ringing

Rin: Good. Understood

Rin hung up before turning to me

Rin: Control of the Sanctum Tower has been confirmed. This will allow us to manage Kivotos as well as we could just before the president's disappearance. Once again I'd like to thank you on behalf of the General Student Council for all of this Sensei, for preventing Kivotos from falling into utter chaos

Evan: You're welcome Rin but what about those gangsters out there?

Rin: You needn't worry about those suspended students and thugs that attacked us just now. They will be tracked and punished

Evan: Oh. That's good to hear

Rin: My duty is to see that you received and activated the Shittim Chest so my job here is done... but there was one more thing we must do for good measure

i raised my eyebrow

Evan: That is

Rin: Could you follow me? I'd like to properly introduce you to the Federal Investigation Club: Schale

Rin asked before departing the basement. I exchanged looks with Mir before following her out of the basement

Rin: This is Schale's main lobby. It has been empty for awhile but now, it has an owner

Rin said before opening the door. I followed her in with Mir, leading to some sort of an office

Rin: and you can consider this as Schale's Club Room. This is where you'll be working starting from now

Evan: What should I do now?

Rin: Schale may have authority but it doesn't have any goals. But even though you don't have a specific job to do, you can freely enter any of the academy districts in Kivotos. From there, you can register any of the students you find as club members among other things

Evan: Wow

Rin: Fascinating isn't it. It may be called an investigation club but the president never specified what it would be investigating or what its purpose is. In that sense, you have quite a lot of freedom don't you

I was speechless after hearing the amount of power I had

Rin: as much as I wish you could ask the president for further details, The fact remains is that she's still missing

Evan: ...

Rin: We're using everything at our disposal to look for her but that makes us short handed at dealing with other problems across Kivotos. The General Student Council is being flooded with complaints as we speak. Request for support material, Environmental aid, make up work for failing students, requests to save clubs and so on. Perhaps Schale can be the one to look into these requests since you have plenty of time

Evan: Alright. I guess that's settled

Rin: Good. I've put all the documents on your desk. Please review them when you can

Evan: Understood

Rin: We'll be counting on you. and all the best on your new position sensei! Let me know if you need anything

Evan: Thank you Rin

Rin nods her head before leaving the Schale club room, leaving me and Mir

Mir: Looks like you have a lot of things to do master

Evan: Yes

I summoned my Staff of First Dawn and examined it

Evan: Even more so since I can't use my magic or use this

I then stopped examining my Staff of First Dawn before taking out some sort of gun consisting of two trains linked back to back, A gold steam locomotive and a silver shinkansen

Evan TYH: And done. This is probably the longest chapter I have ever written. also the gun that my wattpad counterpart examined at the end, I have the toy version of it so you probably already know what it is. Anyway I have an appointment to visit an actual Navy Base in my country later on, including a visit to the Navy museum and a frigate. Followed by a community cosplay event at a community centre on Sunday. I originally wanted to wear my Service Dress Whites to the cosplay event but since I registered using my government issued Digital ID since it's a community event, there might be other government officials besides the Member of Parliament that is the guest of honour. Not to mention, the community may mistake me as a Naval officer, so even though I badly wanted to wear my Service Dress Whites to show that Azur Lane is, in my own words, "not dead", I can't as it's too risky. However, I'll wear my Peaked Cap to show that I'm still a commander of Azur Lane. Anyways, see you next chapter everyone.
