ii : dangerous liaisons

After the Mikaelsons fled with the moonstone, the doors to Lux opened and out came a few of the werewolves from the Crescent Wolf Pack. The werewolves started circling around Qrow and Raven. The commotion outside draws the attention of Aurora Bellatrix, the hybrid's right hand, and Cinder Fall, one half of his enforcers.

"What is going on here?" Rory questions

Beside her, Cinder quietly forms a fireball in her hand. The Branwens look up at the two women of medium stature. Aurora, or known as Rory by her friends, is a fox faunus with black hair, amber eyes, cheek marks and fox ears. She possessed a fox tail that can be divided into nine. Outfit wise, she wore a white dress with red and gold details, full of trinkets she collected over the years. At her side was Cinder, a former prisoner turned pack enforcer despite being a witch. She had shoulder length raven locks that were recently chopped with side swept bangs that covered the scarring on the left side of her face. The witch wore a short sleeved red tunic top with an irregular hem that reached her lower thigh with gold detailing across the top's collar. Over her tunic she wore a black leather jacket with the same gold detailing and the inside layering of the jacket was velvet in color. To pair the look, Cinder wore black jeans that reached a little below the knee and her signature glass heels. Finishing the look off, she wore matching jewel earrings, a choker, and an anklet as well as her feathered brooch that she had pinned to her belt to forever honor the blue haired sorcerer that helped her hone her own powers.

Of the two Crescent Wolf Pack members, Cinder appeared to be the more reasonable one. Rory, infatuated with the hybrid, would not dare to betray him. Cinder wouldn't cross their leader either, but she appeared sympathetic through her tough facade.

"This one right here is the one that started that fight inside the bar."

"Hmm... we'll let Nik deal with them his way, bring them in." Rory says, turning her back to them and walking back inside.

Cinder follows after her without a word. The Branwens are helped up and pushed through the doors of Lux. Qrow growls at the werewolves manhandling them. Raven on the other hand was too worried about Ruby's state to care about if they were being pushed around. All she wanted was to be able to return back to camp with Ruby, but with the situation at hand, she knew that wouldn't be possible. In the v.i.p. lounge of the club, Raven sees Rory in mid conversation with the hybrid. Raven attempts to listen in with her enhanced hearing, but with the music blasting and her nerves overwhelming her thoughts, she's unable to hear a single word of their discussion.

The twins are brought into the hybrid's office space away from the club goers so that they could discuss their matter in private. Cinder comes up from behind them and hits both Qrow and Raven in the back with Midnight's hilt, wordlessly telling them to get down on their knees. The door opens behind them and in comes the hybrid.

"Well... well... well... it seems you're both in a bit of a bind."

If Raven didn't know any better, she would have assumed that Yang was the one kidnapped and not Ruby.

"Klaus-"

"Ah. Ah. Ah. Speak when you're spoken to." Klaus leans back on his desk. "Now... where's the moonstone?" He asks

"We don't have it." Raven says

"You don't have it? You do know that your daughter's life depends on you holding up your end of the bargain?"

Raven stays silent and looks down at the ground. Qrow looks over at his sister and his face falls. This was all his fault, if only he didn't allow himself to be so easily distracted by such a pretty face. Klaus holds his hand out expectantly. Cinder hands over Midnight and using the glass blade, Klaus hits Raven in the gut with the hilt. She bends over slightly, coughing out a bit of blood.

"That wasn't a rhetorical question Raven! I want an answer!" Klaus shouts

"We lost it!" Qrow exclaims

"You what? Did I not make myself clear? If I don't get that moonstone, that girl is dead!"

"Please don't kill her!" Raven pleads, blood spilling from her mouth.

"I didn't want to have to kill her, but you've forced my hand-"

"Wait!"

Klaus shakes his head. "I've been very patient with you and your sister, but I can no longer tolerate-"

"I have something that can be of value to you or well... rather someone."

"Qrow, what are you doing?" Raven whispers

"And this someone is of use to me how?" Klaus asks

"There's this girl who's with The Elite and she can use dark magic. Now we both know the dangers of dark magic and of what it can do, even how it can affect someone like you. Do you see where I'm getting at?"

"Yes... and if she's with The Elite, I know who's been teaching her the dark arts..." Klaus mumbles, handing Midnight back to Cinder.

The witch eyes him curiously. In the year that she had been with him and the years prior to that, Cinder had never seen the hybrid display any sign of fear. Even now it wasn't very noticeable, but if whoever he was referring to was enough to still him with fear then they weren't to be taken lightly. Klaus shakes his head and focuses back to the conversation at hand rather than memories of the past.

"Is she the one who has it?" Klaus asks

"Yes. And before you do anything rash, I'm the one who lost it. So, if you're going to take your anger out on someone, take it out on me, not Raven."

"I respect your loyalty to your sister." Klaus says, speaking with sincerity.

Qrow and Raven share a look, the younger of the two reaching out to grab the other's hand.

"She's stood by my side when I needed her most, so I have to do the same."

"Family is very important. Now, I never do this, but just this once, I'll give you a second chance. Bring me the witch and I'll return Ruby, safe and sound."

"We accept." Raven speaks up.

"Good, now out. I have things to do."

"You can't help us out of these chains?" Qrow asks

"It's dark magic, only the spell caster could reverse the spell, that is if they're an experienced witch. But you'll be fine, she's a baby witch dwelling into the dark arts, the spell should break itself should she exhaust-"

Before Klaus could finish his sentence, the spell breaks and the chains fall off, turning back into an expensive pair of earrings. Klaus takes the wisteria laced hoops and his skin burns at the touch. He places them in Qrow's hand and mockingly pats his cheek.

"I'll give you one week to bring me my moonstone. As for the girl, dispose of her for me, won't you."

"One week? That's not enough time. We would have to journey to Atlas and then somehow find a way to get past The Elite's forces-"

"I'll give you until the next full moon, but that's about as merciful as I'm going to get." Klaus seethes

"Thank you and we accept." Raven says, before Qrow could find a way to make it worse.

Qrow and Raven are escorted out by Rory leaving Klaus and Cinder behind in his office. The witch sat on his chair, pulling up the security footage of earlier that night.

"Did you find her?" Klaus asks, turning to look at Cinder.

She nervously nods. The hybrid raises a brow, perplexed by why Cinder had suddenly gone pale. Klaus walks to the other side of his desk and takes a seat on one of the armrests. Cinder glances at Klaus before she rewinds the footage. His red hues scan the tape, his gaze falling on Qrow who sits at the bar alone until a pinkette is seen approaching him. Cinder pauses it and they both get a good look at the woman who joined Qrow.

"It's her isn't it?" Cinder asks

"No... I don't know how, but it's not her. She would never dare enter my territory."

The tape resumes playing, and the two watch the exact moment that Aracel steals the moonstone from Qrow.

"Hmm... I can see why he allowed himself to be distracted by her to the point where not even his supernatural sense could pick up on her touch, what a pretty little thing."

"What's our next plan of action?" Cinder asks

Klaus contemplates her question while he closes the footage from about an hour ago. He stands and walks over to the bookshelf, pulling out a single photo from a book with writing that Cinder could not translate. He gazes at the photo intently with both hatred and longing, the hybrid eventually crushes the photo and turns to face his enforcer.

"Send word to Nova and tell him to call off his search. In the meantime, business as usual. We'll give the Branwens time to complete their end of the bargain." Klaus says

"And if they're unsuccessful?"

He scoffs. "Either way we'll get the girl. Now whether they walk away with a dead little red or not is up to them."

27 days until the next full moon

Raven and Qrow approach the Branwen tribe settlement, both twins slouched solemnly. The older of the two imagined the next time she would return, she'd have returned with her daughter rather than coming back with new threats that the hybrid was sure to keep. Raven slips on her mask as the gates are opened.

"Rae... I'm so-"

"Save. It." She snarls softly

Closing the gates, Vernal watches as her mentor avoids her family's questioning and instead storms past them into her tent. Taiyang, his eldest daughter, and Jaune Arc turn to Qrow, silently pleading for him to fill them in. The heretic's face falls and he shakes his head in lament.

"Move it, there's nothing to see here." Vernal snaps, herding the other bandits away from the grieving family.

"Yang? What's wrong?" A voice is heard asking from the other side of the blonde's scroll.

"I'm going to have to call you back, Stell..."

Yang hangs up on her best friend and honorary tribe member, Stella Valentine. Her arm shakes and she drops her scroll. Tears filled with resentment fall freely down her face and onto the ground. Vernal sighs and closes her eyes while Qrow averts his gaze, the two not wanting to see the blonde so torn up. Jaune storms off to go train and relieve some pent up frustration. Tai looks back at his shared tent with his wife, then back at his daughter.

"Qrow..."

Getting the hint, the heretic guides his niece to her own tent so that she could let out her feelings in private. Vernal and Taiyang share a scowl before the man runs off in the direction his wife had headed to.

Inside her tent, Raven removes her mask that she had used to hide her tears from the others. Taiyang enters the tent and sees his wife grabbing a stem of wisteria, almost immediately he takes it from her and places a chaste kiss on her fingertips where he could still see the slight burns of the wisteria. Raven turns away from him and sits on her futon, Taiyang joins her and takes her hand in his placing another kiss on it.

"How can you be so calm?"

"One of us has to remain level-headed around here, usually it's you, but I'm glad you're allowing yourself to feel these feelings. Now, what happened? I thought our deal was set in stone?"

Raven looks up at her husband and lovingly shoves him off of her. "Keep the dad jokes to yourself at least until our family is whole again."

"Whatever you say, dear. Happy wife, happy life and all that."

The tension returns and Raven takes a deep breath to try to compose herself. But the truth was that she was vexed with her brother. Her hands ball up into fists, clutching at the material on her tunic. After all that she has done for him and all that she has sacrificed, this was how he repays her? By further endangering the life of his own niece for the sake of chasing tail?

"Qrow? Where's Yang?"

Qrow fully enters the tent and crosses his arms. "She fell asleep after filling in Stella about what happened."

"Did you tell her about how this is all your fault? Or did you simply fail to mention that so the kids can stay in your favor?" Raven asks, abruptly standing.

"What are you implying?" Qrow asks

Raven scoffs. "I don't have to imply anything. It's your fault that the moonstone was stolen from us by The Elite!"

Qrow grows defensive." Oh! You want to play the blame game? Fine! If we would have just killed those spoiled snot nosed runts we could have easily taken the stone back!"

"There wouldn't have been a need for a confrontation in the first place had you'd been thinking with your brain rather than your dick! Come on Qrow! It's been two centuries!"

Yang stands outside her parents' tent, hearing the entire argument. Usually this was never the case as her mother was always consistent with burning a piece of wisteria to soundproof the room. Yang assumed she must have forgotten with the stress of being unable to save Ruby. The blonde inched closer wanting to hear every word as her family had the tendency to leave her and her sister out of their issues despite the two having displayed interest in becoming supernatural hunters ever since they grasped the concept of it. Yang glanced down to where her right arm was supposed to be at. About two years ago a feral, which are creatures classified as mindless and infected vampires within the supernatural community, had wandered near their campsite and Ruby had unfortunately stumbled upon it. Yang was there to save her sister, but it had cost her, her arm as the feral managed to bite it off. Since then, the two girls were to remain within their camps' grounds to avoid any ferals.

"Big words coming from the woman who abandoned her family and lied to them."

Raven's eyes broadened in both shock and anger. She lunged at her brother only to be held back by Taiyang. Qrow's hands glowed a light red hue, the heretic preparing to use his magic against his sister. Though he knew that Raven wouldn't actually attack him, this time at least, otherwise she'd already broken out of Taiyang's grip as her supernatural strength greatly rivaled that of the hunter's. Raven takes a deep breath and composes herself, still Qrow keeps his guard up just in case.

"This is a waste of my time, Sun Wukong will be here any minute now and then we'll depart for Atlas."

"What did you call Sun Wukong for?" Taiyang asks

"As much as he annoys me, he's my best shot at getting anywhere near The Elite." Raven says

"Are you sure we can trust him? He's not exactly affiliated with anyone."

"Guess it's true what they say about married couples..." Qrow mutters, rolling his eyes.

"Usually, I'd have my doubts, but he's proved himself in my eyes more than once. He helped us track down the moon stone and obtained those herbs we've been slipping into Yang's tea to help her out with her condition."

Yang's eyes grow wide, she doesn't know whether to feel more betrayed or angered about her parents and uncle lying to her. What condition were they referring to? What else were they hiding from her? Qrow's eyes avert from the married couple to a stem of wisteria, the heretic mumbles the words "digitus illustris" and draws the proper runes in the space in front of him. A small flame is conjured up on the tip of his finger, he lights up the wisteria then blows the flame out. From the outside, Yang is unable to hear anything else said. She curses her uncle under her breath before heading back to her tent to go vent to Stella over the scroll.

"I'm coming with." Qrow says

"Great..." Raven mutters

Qrow exits their tent to go prepare for their departure. Raven watches her brother go, glaring at his retreating form. She then takes Omen and sheaths the blade, deciding that all she needed for this trip was her weapon.

"Try not to kill each other."

"The same goes for you and Vernal." Raven says, slipping on her mask and exiting the tent.

With his wife gone, Taiyang falls to his knees and breaks down, wishing he could do more, but he knew his place was here.

Class was in session in the briefing room. Alex Blake stood at the forefront beside several holographic screens displaying key information of the daily lesson. The students sat a few feet away in three rows of six. The first row of students consisted of Coco, Dew, Marrow, and Whitley with two empty spots that formerly belonged to Ilia and Jenni before they both fled Atlas. Pyrrha sat in the second row with Winona, Joshua, Vega, and Charlie, the empty seat beside Vega being previously chosen by Penny Polendina before her accident happened. In the last row the Mikaelson twins sat with Darla, Leon, and Weiss, the chair on the end next to the witch in past times occupied by her older brother Lucio until his untimely death.

"...And because witches' magic comes from nature through their ancestors is the reasoning behind their loss of powers should they find themselves turned into vampires."

Winona raises her hand. "Miss Blake?"

"Yes, Winona?"

"Why is that so?"

"That's an excellent question, Winona." Alex smiles. "As stated previously, witches' source of power comes from nature and vampires are said to disrupt the sacred flow of life with their very existence. Vampires are creatures that were created long ago by the goddess Hylia and because they are essentially immortal beings who prey on humans, they are seen as abominations by the witches. So, for a witch to be turned into a vampire is a big no no for the ancestors who then strip the transitioning witch of their powers and their connection to nature."

"So, no such beings exist?" Winona asks

"It's hard to imagine that such a being is out there, but anything is possible I always say. Now everyone, let's give Winona some snaps for those great questions." Alex beams

The rest of the students lightly snap their fingers as instructed. Winona blushes brightly, a bit embarrassed by their encouragement. Hearing nothing coming from the row behind him except for some soft snoring, Charlie looks back and sees everyone in the back row asleep. Silas sat in the middle snoring softly while his sister leaned her head against his shoulder. Weiss sat arms crossed beside Aracel, leaning her back against the pinkette. On the other side of the eldest Mikaelson twin, Darla was dozed off using Silas as their headrest while Leon was just sprawled out over Darla and the twins' laps.

"Now, moving on to reapers. These supernaturals are beings that reap souls of the living and the essence of creatures just like us and guide the deceased into their respective realms to meet their fate. Humans are said to go to-"

Alex pauses mid-sentence when a sudden loud snore, courtesy of Silas, rings throughout the room. The students turn around and see the colorful bunch all cuddled up enjoying a snooze. The ravenette blinks a few times not understanding how this had become a common occurrence lately.

"We should probably wake them up." Pyrrha suggests

"I wouldn't..." Charlie shakes his head

Pyrrha stands and carefully makes her way through the last row so that she wouldn't bump into anyone. The amazon lightly shakes the pinkette's shoulder to wake her up. Lavender hues flutter open, then close, still feeling tired. Pyrrha's brows furrow and she tries again, this time with a bit more force. Behind her Charlie facepalms knowing what was to come. Aracel's eyes snap open this time and she uppercuts the angel sending her flying startling everyone around her. Leon tumbles to the floor with a groan while Silas uses his semblance to levitate and push his classmates aside. Marrow is shoved into Alex, knocking her down with him. Pyrrha falls on Leon, the redhead breaking her fall. Darla wakes next and accidentally summons a pool of water above them, a waterfall cascading down on them. Weiss shakes her head and frantically chants a spell as she's abruptly woken up with the falling water. The witches' spell creates several colorful crystal balls that explode into fireworks of multiple shades.

The door opens and Winter Schnee walks in on the chaos. Her first instinct is to check on Alex and help her get back on her feet after pushing Marrow off of her.

"Darla... Silas..."

Hearing Alex's voice, the two flinch and simultaneously put a stop to their alarming turmoils. As a siren, one of Darla's many abilities allowed her to summon pools of water in which she could use to travel through or use to manipulate water. However, they never intended to accidentally summon a pool of water like they did in class. Silas lets out a nervous chuckle and apologizes to his classmates for using his semblance on them.

"Aspiro!" Alex chants, blowing a gust of wind to dry off the sleepy five.

"Okay... if everyone's finished being stupid-"

"I had more, but you go ahead." Silas says, cutting Winter off.

Winter is at a loss of words. Alex decides to take over, directing the attention of her students with a clap of her hands.

"We'll have to postpone the rest of the lesson for another day. Don't forget to study for your vampire, werewolf, and witches midterm coming up."

Several groans are heard throughout the room. The students rise from their seats and start to head out the room, saying their goodbyes to Alex on their way out. Winter holds out her sword, blocking the door before Aracel, Silas, and Darla could leave the room.

"What? Do you want to fight?" Aracel asks

Winter sighs. "No, I've been tasked to bring Silas and Darla on a mission in Vale with me."

"Well, of course you'd want to recruit me." Darla grins

"Wow! What kind of mission?" Silas asks.

"Your father asked me to bring you along because it involves your mother."

Silas cringes. "Mom? Eww... not her-"

"She's dead, Silas."

Silas turns to look at Aracel and finds her already looking at him. He holds his hand out and she takes it. They weren't close with Regina in the slightest having been abandoned by her after her separation with Mikael. Their father gave them the option of who they wanted to live with regardless and Silas was quick to decide he wanted to stay with Mikael. And... Aracel chose to stay at her brother's side to make sure he wouldn't get into too much trouble on his own.

Darla looks over at the twins and places a comforting hand on Silas' shoulder. The swordsman grabs their hand and places a kiss on top of it.

"Yes, quite tragic. But your father did recommend that I bring you along." Winter says

Silas nods. "I understand."

Winter turns to Aracel. "And despite his discouragement, I'm bringing you along as well because I need someone who speaks Silas. When you're all ready, I'll meet you in the aircraft where I'll further debrief you on our mission."

With that, Winter departs and Darla follows after her. Alex approaches the twins and hugs them.

"Are you both okay?" Alex asks

"Is it fucked up that I'm glad she's gone?" Aracel asks her brother.

"Nah. I think she got what was coming to her." He responds

Alex watches them slip out of her grip and walk out of the briefing room to get ready for their mission. Her face falls, she would have to bring this concern onto Mikael and hope that he would listen to her for once.

Elsewhere within The Elite's base, the members of The Bloodline gathered around the roundtable. Mikael had called for a meeting, stating he had an urgent matter to discuss with the rest of the council. The Bloodline consisted of founders Mikael and Ozpin as well as Ironwood, his nephew Charlie, Jacques, Camilla, Sleet, and his wife Carrie. Their council had been formed many centuries ago to ultimately decide the fate of everyone within The Elite as well as voting on how to deal with matters outside of their division. While everyone's votes mattered, Ironwood and Mikael's votes were highly influential as the two were among the first seven vampires created whom all other vampires in existence originated from.

Mikael walks into the room, cutting straight to the chase. "Now, I won't waste any of your time, as you all know my children Silas and well... the other one were successful in retrieving the moon stone. Without the stone, as we all know, will put a stop to the abomination's plans of breaking his curse-"

"Where are you going with this?" Charlie asks, not liking that Mikael had disrespected his best friend.

"Patience, boy. As I was saying, there's this famed blade located in an area known as the lost woods said to hold the capability of being able to slay any supernatural creature. We get a hold of that sword and end the hybrid once and for all."

"Does such a weapon even exist?" Charlie questions

Ironwood nods. "Our creator wielded that very blade to create the vampire species as we know it today."

"Precisely, however, one should never try to intervene with the natural cycle of life. Angered with his sister's inhumane actions the god of light cursed her creation with the inability to be out and about during the day. Though of course Mikael eventually forged his own loophole to that dilemma when their creator vanished." Ozpin explains

Mikael shrugs. "Not everyone deserves to walk under the sun, daylight rings are a privilege only vampires of The Elite have."

"And it shall stay that way." Carrie says

Sleet locks eyes with Charlie and smirks. The former prince narrowed his eyes. Despite being about four centuries old, he knew he was still seen as a newly turned vampire among everyone on the council, his uncle included.

"You baby vamps haven't even got a clue about how anything works around here. Aren't you glad the monarchy fell before you got a chance to rule? Otherwise you would have been it's downfall." Sleet mocks

Charlie glares at the older vampire, but he chose to keep his composure in fear of being voted out. He wasn't as naive as Sleet made him out to be, he's been around for quite some time to know how things were run. And Charlie knew that The Elite did not tolerate internal conflict, those that dared disturb the peace would meet the sun.

"Don't take his words personally, darling." Carrie says, blowing a cloud of smoke at the brunet.

Jacques clears his throat, gaining the attention of everyone in the room, something that Charlie was thankful for. "Now why in the name of Hylia would we ever give someone the opportunity to get their grubby hands on the weapon that can bring our doom?!"

"I hate to agree with him, but he's right. The blade that created us is very well capable of ending us all." Camilla speaks up

"That is how the god of light intended it to be, a double edged sword if you will." Ozpin says

"A bit cryptic if you ask me..." Ironwood mutters

Ozpin chuckles. "Isn't that just the beauty of life?" He rhetorically questions

"I've thought of everything, my friends. With some special training, my own flesh and blood Silas will be the one to wield the famed sword. And with a bit more training after that, Silas will slay the beast."

Hearing Mikael's pitch, his colleagues murmur amongst themselves getting on board with his plan. Ozpin turns to Mikael and frowns. Silas was only human and a child at the end of the day. No amount of special training will ever be enough to prepare him to immerse himself in the supernatural world. But clearly his old friend's ambition was getting the best of him like it had countless times in the past.

"Shall we put it to a vote?"

"That boy of your's can certainly be whipped into shape, I'm in." Camilla grins

"Sure, what the heck! My wife could use a new fur coat." Sleet jokes

Beside him, Carrie smiles and pinches Sleet's cheek affectionately. Charlie almost gags when he sees the steel blue eyed man take his two toned haired wife's hand in his to place a kiss on her gloved hand.

"I'm in as well, it's about time someone puts that dog down." Carrie smiles wickedly

"I want that bastard's heart served to me on a silver platter for what he did to my son!" Jacques seethes

"The heart will be of my possession, you never know when a spell can call for a hybrid's heart." Mikael says

"Fine! His death will be plenty for me."

"James, how will you vote?" Camilla asks

Sleet scoffs. "Let's skip to the kid, I think ole Ironwood needs to think this one through a bit more. Probably needs to ask the witch for his opinion."

Ironwood glares at his fellow council member. "I'm in."

"Good. Now, what's your decision Charles?" Mikael asks, turning his focus to the former prince.

Charlie turns to Ozpin and watches as his face falls. It was clear to him that the only one in the room who still had some amount of compassion in them was Ozpin. Everyone else in the room have simply lost their way from the many centuries of being bloodthirsty monsters.

"We shouldn't..." Charlie hangs his head low, knowing he was outnumbered.

"What a shame, your father would have thought differently. Meeting adjourned."

"Goes to show he shouldn't have just inherited his council seat. He's not strong enough to be a part of the big leagues."

With that one last degrading comment from Sleet, the members of The Bloodline take their leave. Charlie hangs back, feeling conflicted. Ozpin walks past him and gives him a comforting pat on the back as he does so. He opens his mouth to give him advice, but opts out of doing it last minute. There was no point, nothing ever changes within The Elite.

"Your base is underground...?" Emerald questions

Emerald Sustrai followed closely behind Roman Torchwick and Jordan Aran as they walked through an underground tunnel. Hearing the mint haired witch's question, Roman scoffs believing it to be a stupid query. He made it no secret that he didn't agree with Jordan's decision to allow Emerald to hide out with them when they already had a target painted on their backs. And they didn't need a bigger one in the form of some snot nosed stray. At least that's what he thought.

"Maybe you didn't hear the ole boss the first time, kid, but we're The Clanless. If that doesn't answer your question, there must be a whole lot of fucking real estate up there." Roman gestures to his head with his cane to evidently get his point across.

Emerald wraps her arms around herself feeling insecure. Usually when someone insulted her like that Sheik and Hazel would have immediately come to her defense, but here she was all alone. She wished either of them would have come to stay with her, but she knew that wasn't possible. Hazel couldn't quite leave the faction yet or it'd be too obvious that he was the one to help her escape in the first place. He also had loose ends to tie up like taking care of his sister's murderer. And Sheik... Emerald didn't even bother to ask him to join her because she knew that he wouldn't. He had a duty to Zelda and as much as it hurt, she knew he wouldn't put her first. Perhaps her feelings for the ninja were leaning more towards being unrequited.

"Roman..." Jordan speaks in a warning tone

"I jest, I jest." Roman fakes a chuckle. "Mostly..." He mutters under his breath.

"As you know we're what other vampires consider nightwalkers-"

"I thought all vampires were nightcrawlers?" Emerald asks

"If you want to be technical about it, yes." Roman says

"While all vampires outside of The Elite are considered nightcrawlers since none of us can be out and about during the daytime, we are "clanless" because we were turned into vampires by force. Stripped of our humanity coercively and left to rot, we've been left without guidance doubling our chances of turning into ferals. It's why we've chosen to hide out underground."

"Oh... I didn't know you had it this bad..." Emerald mumbles

"That's not even the tip of the iceberg." Roman growls

The trio come across the door leading to the inside of their hideout. Roman opens the door with the handle of Melodic Cudgel and allows both Jordan and Emerald to walk in first. The witch gapes in shock and wonder at the simplistic beauty of the clan. It held the appearance of a little piece of Vacuo concealed in an underground base without all the sand. Jordan and Roman advance through the quaint marketplace, the two deep in conversation. Emerald falls behind noticing a wall filled with framed pictures of various distinct individuals.

"That's our wall of memory."

Emerald looks to the side and spots a brunette rabbit faunus standing next to her. The witch's focus goes back to the frames, noticing that the photos captured humans and faunus spanning from different ages. Beside her, Velvet Scarlatina, solemnly frowns, her ears drooping to match her expression.

"Are they all..." Emerald trails off

"They've all died." A new voice enters the conversation.

Emerald turns around and sees a fox faunus approaching them. The orange haired faunus towered over them and if her height alone wasn't enough to intimidate Emerald, the crossbow on her left arm sure was.

"Oh..." Emerald mumbled

"If you're going to be a part of The Clanless, you need to get thicker skin."

"Don't you have a mission to get to Tweety? Because if I do recall you were given orders to take your merry little group on a supply run, is that not right?" Roman smirks, mocking the white tipped tailed faunus.

"And if I recall aren't you just Jordan's little bit-"

"Enough! Robyn you were supposed to be gone by now. You know that you only have a limited time to be active, not to mention the added dangers aside from the sun."

As the seven foot tall wolf faunus scolds Robyn, behind their leader, Roman snickers and makes faces at the fox faunus. Robyn takes her leave, but not before sending a glare Roman's way.

"Let's go get you situated." Jordan says, turning to face Emerald.

"Jordan?"

"Hmm?"

"I'm sorry..." Emerald says, averting her gaze.

Jordan narrows her eyes. "For?"

"For any trouble that vile monster has caused you. And for any problems I might have caused you and your people while I was forced to work for her. I didn't know that you had it this bad and I'm really sorry for adding on to your troubles."

Jordan's eyes slowly widen and she and Roman simultaneously turn to look at each other. Velvet softly smiles and places a hand on Emerald's shoulder causing the mint haired witch to meet her gaze.

"Thank you for apologizing Emerald, but there really was no need to. Do you know why we have a wall of memory?"

Emerald shakes her head.

"Because it reminds us of all that we've lost and of all that we'll keep fighting for." Jordan says

"I'd like to help in any way that I can." Emerald offers

"Oh! Miss Aran, I almost forgot to tell you. Lucille delivered a letter from The Empress earlier." Velvet says, handing Jordan a wrapped up scroll.

Jordan inspects the letter and rips apart the familiar maroon wax seal. She carefully reads through the letter and is left distraught by it's contents, but she doesn't let her feelings get past her deadpan expression.

"What does the letter say?" Roman asks

Jordan clears her throat. "Velvet, could you leave us."

"Oh, umm... yeah, of course." Velvet nods slowly. "Don't forget you've got a friend in the den." She smiles once more at Emerald and leaves as instructed.

"Well?" Roman asks, growing impatient.

"The Elite have acquired a mage dwelling in the dark arts..."

"Oh, we are fucked! What's the plan boss?" Roman asks

"I'm not certain. One thing's for sure is we'll have to get in touch with that "eccentric" Doctor." Jordan makes eye contact with Emerald. "I will graciously accept your offer."

"I'll do my best."

"Report, sister."

Layla kneeled at the end of the stairwell leading up to her sister's throne. Sienna sat on her throne, legs crossed and arms resting on their rests. The younger of the two stands and clears their throat.

"Unfortunately our raid took longer than expected since we can only advance at night. We were however able to wreak havoc in Vale as planned, if the humans won't listen to us willingly, we will forcibly take what's long overdue." Layla says, debriefing her sister on their latest mission.

"Good work, sister. If this attack won't get their attention, we'll simply have to up the stakes."

"With all due respect Enna, these raids are getting us no closer to putting an end to The Elite. They don't care about Vale and when we attack Mistral, the result will stay the same. We have to attack them directly, only then will they take us seriously." Layla says

Sienna stands and descends the stairs. She grabs Layla by her face and forces her sister to look into her eyes, applying pressure by sinking her claws into her cheeks. Layla hisses at her, the two sister's faces changing now displaying their vampiric features.

"If I want your opinion, I will ask for it. Until then... hold your sandpaper tongue!" Sienna snarls, pushing her sister away.

"Whatever you say, sister."

Layla leaves her sister's "throne" room. Outside the door, Maeve Lopez and Ilia Amitola wait for the tigress. The fox faunus frowns, having heard the two sisters' little showdown. Layla walks past them without a word and heads in the direction of her room.

"Oh, Layla..." Maeve mumbles, her ears slumping down.

Within her room, Layla grabs a small wooden box on top of her bedside drawer. She double-checks the contents inside the box, making sure she had all of the necessary materials. Once doing so, Layla jumps out of her window, landing unfazed on the ground below on her two feet. Taking her box, the tigress makes her way to a crossroads. Upon finding an adequate spot, she claws out a hole in the ground and buries the box containing a picture of herself, some graveyard dirt, and a bone from a black cat.

Moments later a red haired figure clad in black appears before her. The bull faunus takes in the tiger faunus' appearance. She had her fiery red-orange hair held up with a few strands of her hair left out to frame her face. She wore a cropped t-shirt to show off her abs made up of two different shirts with an asymmetrical stitching that he could tell she did herself to make her custom shirt. Underneath that she wore a mesh black shirt with one sleeve that reached up to her knuckles and fit like a glove on her right arm while the left sported a red sleeve with maroon stripes that reached up to her elbow and matched one of two patterns on her shirt. The look was paired with leather laced up black pants with the laces on one leg reaching up to her waist while the laces on the other leg only reached up to her knee. The look is finished off with a pair of red wedges, various kinds of studs in her ears, two chokers, and a leather thigh holster.

She was definitely unlike any of his previous clients...

"So, are we gonna do this?"

"Hmm... that depends, what do you want?"

"Well, first off a name would be nice. I'd like to know who I'm dealing with before potentially selling off my essence."

The bull faunus rolls his eyes. "Adam Taurus."

"Okay, Adam. I want you to help me take down The Elite." Layla bluntly states

"You don't waste time do you?" Adam asks, amused.

"I'm kinda known for that."

The demon chuckles. "You're bold, I like that. But what makes you think I would team up with you to take down The Elite?"

"Isn't that kinda your thing? To make deals with poor saps like me-"

"It's a little more complicated than that." Adam says

"Then let me make it simpler for you. You help me put a stop to The Elite in exchange for my supernatural essence." Layla offers

"Do you even have a plan?"

"No-"

"Then there's your answer kitty cat."

Adam turns away, prepared to leave in a puff of smoke until he feels a blade making contact with his back. He glances back and sure enough there she stood holding an angel blade to his back.

"You're not leaving that easily, at least not until you fully hear me out because I was not done talking." Layla snarls

"And what do you expect to happen once we make it to Atlas? A single vampire, a demon, and an angel blade cannot take down an army of supernaturals."

"Who said it was just us?" She asks, poking him with the blade.

"Oh, it's just a little assumption I've gathered. Something tells me you have trust issues." Adam sarcastically speaks

"Do you want to hear the rest of my proposition?"

Adam sighs. "I don't believe I have much of a choice with that angel blade poking my back."

"It must suck being a crossroads demon, you're at the bottom of the underworld food chain-"

"Don't patronize me."

"A little birdie told me that The Elite have a baby witch dwelling in the dark arts. You help me take down their organization and she's all yours along with my supernatural essence."

Adam thought it over. Her whole idea sounded like pure insanity, but no matter the circumstances she still insisted that he help her out. It was madness! However... if they were to somehow prevail, getting a hold of the dark witch would be a huge win for him. He'd take her to the underworld and have her use her black magic to free his master from his imprisonment and then he too would gain his freedom. No more would he have to scavenge looking for willing prey and having to endure abuse from those above him. No... he'd simply become his master's favorite and who knows he could be granted an opportunity to become his successor.

"You've convinced me..."

"Really?!"

"Yes really!" Adam snaps at her

"That's great! Well, let's seal the deal."

Adam conjures up a contract explaining the clauses of their arrangement and disclosure of what will be exchanged for his assistance. Below that is a small paragraph brutally detailing the end result that will occur once their deal is complete. Finally, there's a line designated for Layla's signature for her to sign in agreement with the contract.

"You can always back out, you know?"

Layla scoffs. "I know what I'm doing and I don't care about the consequences. The Elite gathered my kind and shoved us into an island and I'm going to make them pay for it."

Adam rolls his eyes. He steps up to the tiger faunus and places a hand on the small of her back as he dips her down, placing his lips against hers to seal the deal. On the contract, Layla's signature appears sealing her fate. They pull apart and Adam composes himself. A pair of handcuffs materialize, cuffing the tigress' wrist leaving the other end hanging.

"You know if you wanted to kiss me you could have just asked. Though if you want another kiss, you're going to have to beg for it." Layla teases "And what's up with these handcuffs? It's kinda ki-"

Adam gags loudly. He turns his back to Layla and grabs the contract, rolling it up and having it disappear in a puff of smoke.

"What now?" Adam asks, changing the subject

"Now we prepare for war."

26 days until the next full moon

"How could this have happened?" Stella quietly questions

The witches walked through the cemetery forged in the remnants of Vale's failed expansion, Mountain Glenn. This was where the witches called home. They lived in the shadows, much like the rest of the supernatural community, and away from humans. Glynda Goodwitch led their group, a duty she selflessly shouldered despite the endless fear and fatigue.

"This is why we have rules, ladies. They keep us safe."

It was times like these that really weighed down on the witches. Having to mourn one of their own was never easy, but death was the punishment dealt to those who practiced magic above the basics. The rain poured down, the sky matching the gloom felt by the witches over the loss of one of their own.

"But... we're witches, practicing magic is kinda like the whole point-"

Audrey Forbes, places a hand on Stella's shoulder stopping the girl mid-sentence. The blonde gives the brunette a small nod, deciding it would be best to talk about this matter another time. She glances back and sees sisters Melanie and Lana mourning the loss of their mother, Regina Lee. Neopolitan wraps an arm around her girlfriend's waist, it wasn't much but she hoped that it would bring Melanie some comfort.

"This predicament of ours will only ever end once that hybrid is dead. First he put an end to Amber, now he's gone and killed Regina. And the cycle is to only repeat itself unless we start fighting back." Rowena Fall calmly states, giving Glynda the side eye.

"Hush! It's that kind of talk that turns into action and you should know that acting out will get us killed." Glynda hisses

"This is all Miltia's fault, she sold us out for dick and now we're all paying the price." Mitsuru Kojiro sneers

"Mitsuru, calm down. This isn't the time for that, we have to be respectful at a time like this especially for Melanie and Lana's sake." Lilly speaks up

Glynda lets out a small smile. It was at times like these where she was especially glad to have someone kind and level-headed like Lilly around. The older witch believed she held a great potential in both aspects of magic and leadership. With the conversation settling down, the four young witches Lilly, Mitsuru, Nora, and Stella place Regina's cloaked wrapped body on the ground where they planned to bury her.

Sirena Winters watches the witches mourning their fellow member on the sidelines a few feet away from the grieving sisters. She too had felt a great loss ages ago when the same perpetrator had wiped out her clan known as the Timber Wolves leaving three lone survivors. Sirena had been graciously accepted by the witches after fleeing and she was ever grateful for their kindness. Rowena glances at Sirena, seething at the werewolf in the process. The fiery redhead never agreed to allow Sirena into their clan, but Glynda was insistent stating they couldn't turn away a scared and helpless individual in their time of need.

The witches step back to give Glynda room so that she could perform their ancient ritual. It was custom for witches to have special burials to prevent the loss of their magic so that it could keep flowing through their ancestors. The flames are lit up through the spell "digitus illustris" and Glynda stands, grimoire in hand ready to perform the spell. The necessary ingredients and runes already in place. Glynda begins to chant the spell while the rest of the witches watch solemnly.

Suddenly, the candles are blown out with the use of the spell "aspiro". Glynda gasps and turns to find the culprit to be the youngest Mikaelson twin. Aracel and Silas stand at the end of the corridor, the two doning matching grins.

"Whoops..."

"Did you witches really think you could host a funeral for mommy dearest and not invite the rest of her children?" Silas smirks, gesturing with his sword Bishop.

"What do you two want?" Melanie snarls

"Oh, us? What is it we're here to do Silas?" Aracel asks, her voice heavily laced with sarcasm.

Silas lowers his sword and turns to face his sister. "Uh... we were debriefed in the aircraft. Remember? It was a bunch of "blah blah blah" drowned out by the sound of a trombone. Did you already for-"

Aracel places a hand over Silas's mouth to stop him from talking. "You don't get sarcasm, do ya?"

Silas shakes his head and sticks out his tongue to lick Aracel's hand. The pinkette grimaces and removes her hand, wiping Silas' saliva on his jacket.

"You two really only share one braincell huh?" Darla asks, her voice coming through their earpieces.

"Wrap it up Mikaelson." Winter orders

"We're here for what rightfully belongs to The Elite!" Aracel declares, pointing at her mother's corpse.

"I can't allow you to do that. Regina's power must return back to the ancestors." Glynda says

"That slut's magic is coming back with us." Aracel says

"I've sent you running before and I can do it again." Glynda seethes

"Not this time, Goodwitch." Winter says, rushing to the twins' side.

"Protect the body at all costs girls." Rowena instructs the younger witches.

The witches and Sirena all take stances around the corpse, leaving Rowena and Glynda at the forefront. Lana attempts to step up, but is grabbed by the wrist by her older sister Melanie. She gives the bluette a stern look, wordlessly advising her to stand down. Aracel catches sight of this and smirks, mocking her younger half sister.

"Your strategy will do you no good." Aracel says, stepping forward.

"We can do this the easy way or the hard way." Winter offers, placing her hand on the hilt of her sword.

Glynda takes The Disciplinarian out, holding the riding crop in front of her. "Over my dead body."

"Whenever you're ready, Dupain-Cheng." Winter says

"Got it!"

A pool of water appears behind the witches, from within it Darla pokes her head out, grabbing a hold of the body by the arm and dragging it into the water. Stella turns and with no hesitation jumps into the pool of water after them.

"Stella!" Lilly exclaims, as the pool of water disappears.

"No one has to die today." Winter says

"Spare us your lies, you Atlesians are always out for blood." Rowena says

"You know how the saying goes, deny or embrace the darkness." Aracel smiles wickedly

A pool of water opens overhead and Darla emerges with the body, Stella following closely behind. The siren closes the pool of water and forms a large sphere of water, forming a battle arena and giving themselves the advantage against Stella. Darla drops Regina's body and down below Silas catches it using one arm, the other holding Bishop up in a defensive stance. Inside Darla's makeshift biome, the blonde sets her sights on the brunette and attacks.

"Angustiae Lautus!" Glynda chants

The witches' leader creates a whirlwind to follow her commands and retrieve the body back from Silas. Lana stands beside Glynda and chants the spell "Fulminis" to fuse with her teacher's own incantation. Using The Disciplinarian, Glynda commands the whirlwind to spin, combining the breeze with Lana's summoned lightning bolts. She hurls it at Winter, who simply smirks and stands still to seemingly take the attack. Aracel steps back and kneels, gathering the necessary materials to perform a spell on Winter. Glynda's whirlwind comes in contact with Winter's blade, the Atlesian and the witch attempting to push each other back.

Meanwhile, Silas bolts retreating to the aircraft only to be met with Mitsuru, Audrey, and Sirena. Using Royal Clairvoyance, a magenta hue aura levitates his mother's body, freeing his arms for combat.

"Ladies, out of respect, I don't feel comfortable engaging in combat with you." Silas says

"Respect? Did you show us any respect when coming over here to desecrate our home?" Mitsuru asks

"Touche..."

With this, Silas charges at the three as the two witches prepare spells to counterattack, while Sirena meets him halfway to cover her two friends.

Aracel grabs a pinchfull of her mixture and blows the dust onto Winter, murmuring the spell "aem tiuf madnouq eauq" in the process. The dust swirls around Winter, the incantation taking affect on the vampire. Glynda looks on horrified once she sees a glyph appear beneath Winter. As supernatural creatures, they had a supernatural essence so without procession of a soul they had no semblance. Unless one were to use dark magic to temporarily grant someone the use of their semblance from when they were human which is precisely what Aracel had done to Winter just now.

With her semblance intact, Winter unleashes a barrage of attacks on the remaining witches. Silas meanwhile was holding his own against the two witches and the werewolf, clashing Bishop against Mitsuru's Fallen Knighthood and simultaneously using Royal Clairvoyance to guide Knight into a flurry of hits against Sirena and Audrey. With Darla and Stella, the pinkette began to tire herself out by concomitantly having to perform spells all while holding her breath. Aracel stands back and watches the chaos unfold, with her father's "borrowed" familiar, a blue caterpillar, resting on her shoulder. Aracel's joy is shortlived as she suddenly feels a blade poking at her back. Turning back she sees Neopolitan holding Hush's blade, her features contorting into a glare.

Aracel chuckles, catching Neo off guard. Swiftly she grabs a hold of La Desalmada and wraps the leather bound weapon around Hush's blade, tossing it aside.

"Oops!" Another laugh slips past her lips.

The pinkette glances at Mikael's familiar and whispers a command to the caterpillar. Aracel grabs the small creature and tosses it up, watching as it grows in size going from three inches to three feet. The pinkette grabs her whip and twirls using it as a dancing ribbon to taunt her opponent. Neo takes the bait, charging at the dark mage with a produced fireball in her palm. The familiar comes back down and stretches up, coming in between the two and blowing a puff of blue smoke in Neopolitan's face. The mute witch stumbles back and blindly releases her fireball which ends up hitting Darla's bubble domain causing it to pop. Stella gasps for breath as she falls closing her eyes in the process, Darla follows suit forming a wave to accelerate their falling speed. Reaching the pinkette, Darla gives her mouth to mouth resuscitation.

Mikael's familiar releases a haze of blue smoke, making every witch fall one by one, leaving a dishevelled Glynda the only one left standing. Darla places Stella down on top of one of the graves and creates a wave to glide towards Silas, grabbing the boy and making their way towards the aircraft. Winter summons a Manticore and grabs a hold of the pinkette who in turn grabs the caterpillar and the two flee following Darla and Silas. Disheartened, Glynda attempts to run after them to no avail.

"Please don't do this! Her magic must-"

Aracel turns back and sees Glynda stop in her tracks. She places her hands on her knees and pants, trying to catch her breath. Emerald hues lock with lavender in one last desperate plea before they flutter closed and Glynda collapses on the ground. Aracel immediately looks away and burries her face against Winter's back, her arms tightening around the vampire's waist. Noticing the change, Winter spares her a glance and her face falls. She knew the internal conflict Aracel faced because she too had been the same centuries ago. Winter knew what it was like to want to get the approval of a negligent parent, she knew all too well because she did unspeakable things trying to do the same with no avail.

Now as an immortal, she was doomed to watch from the sidelines as the same desperate cycle repeated itself once more...

Zelda hovers over Salem's comatose being in her personal quarters. The blonde's hands glow brightly as she focuses all her strength into her magic. Years ago their leader had fallen into a deep sleep after losing a battle against a powerful mage who dwelled in the dark arts and a half breed. Salem had been bested and placed under a spell leaving her in her current comatose state. Zelda had yet to figure out how to reverse the spell, but she hypothesized that the only one who could break it was the dark mage himself. And he would never not after her leader had stolen one of his tomes.

The heretic slowly wobbled back and forth, feeling herself start to grow faint. Her magic comes to a halt and she falls back, stumbling onto the ground. Her weapon of choice, the Scimitar of the Seasons, clatters on the ground alerting the ninja and the group's muscle of the incident. The two rush into the room and find Zelda passed out on the floor. Hazel places a hand against the small of her back to support the blonde as he brings her to a sitting position. Meanwhile Sheik examines the other heretic using his own magic.

"She's overdone it again." Sheik shakes his head

Hazel glances over at Salem and catches the steady rise and fall of her abdomen. With his other hand he raises a single finger up to his lips, quietly signaling to the heretic. Sheik nods, grabs the scimitar and bolts out of the door. Hazel lifts Zelda up and tosses the blonde over his shoulder. He spares Salem another look, even in her sleep that woman could strike fear into anyone who dared to look at her.

The two men arrived in Zelda's room, settling her down on her bed for some much needed rest. Sheik places her Scimitar on her bedside table as he takes a seat on the bed. Hazel has a look around the room, realizing that he's never stepped foot into the heretic's chambers before. In spite of working alongside the blonde for years, the man could not recall anything personal about her. He knew that she was a heretic and that out of everyone in the faction, she had been with Salem for the longest. What he couldn't piece together is the why and her room gave him no hints for him to form any conclusive answer.

Hazel knew why he initially joined, he seeked revenge for the death of his sister Gretchen. She was accepted amongst the ranks of The Elite despite his many protests, Hazel still chose to support his sister's decision and she ended up dead. To this day, he doesn't know who killed her if it was an inside job or if it was that hybrid. It's why he had aligned himself with Salem, she promised him the answers that would help him extract his revenge. Only Hazel was not prepared for what it meant to work for Salem.

Zelda awakes and sits upright. She looks between the two men, gasping for breath. They could tell she was still tired out from the spell she was performing on their leader. Sheik stood and rushed out of the room in search of a temporary remedy. Zelda tries to steady her breathing as she reaches over to grab the Scimitar of the Seasons. Hazel acts quick and puts his hand over her's on the hilt. She glares at him, her icy blue hues clouding like the sky before a storm.

"Take it easy."

"Don't tell me what to do."

"Why are you doing this? We should be taking advantage of this situation and leave her as is-"

Zelda retracts her hand and uses it to cover Hazel's mouth. Before he can push her away, she uses her other hand to signal him to be quiet with her index finger, then she points to her ears. Hazel averts his eyes to the open doors, watching as Salem's Seer grimm roams the halls. The jellyfish-like creature transmitted messages for the comatose witch and also acted as surveillance so that their leader could continue to keep a watch on her underlings despite the state she was in. Not noticing anything worth reporting back, the Seer continues on its path. Once Zelda is sure that they're out of the woods, she removes her hand from Hazel's mouth.

"You need to be more careful, you almost got caught." Zelda warns

"You'd love nothing more, wouldn't you?"

Zelda's features contort into another glare. "I must go, I haven't even come close to finishing my session for today."

"You gonna answer my question?" Hazel asks

"Salem made me a promise centuries ago and she's the only one that can make it happen."

Zelda stands and takes her leave, although still feeling a bit out of it. Before it would be Zelda and Emerald trying to wake Salem up, but now with the young witch gone, the burden fell onto Zelda alone. Hazel watches her go, upset that she's putting herself through so much all for the hope of a couple of empty promises.

"Ugh... please let me keep my head above water." He hears Zelda quietly beg

Hearing the anguish in her voice, Hazel shakes his head and goes off to find where Sheik had rushed off to.

Hours later, Hazel found himself having spent most of his time in the training room preoccupied with his workout. As a human, he had the advantage of his semblance that acted as a numbing agent, rendering him insensitive to pain. Now as a vampire, he had gained twice the strength he had previously at the cost of his semblance. Being immortal had its perks, but the loss of his semblance was not one of them. Vampires had several weaknesses, something Hazel wasn't used to given his semblance. Before he could further mourn the loss of his invincibility, the vampire hears a loud crash.

Hazel rushes out the room and follows the noise, leading him back to Salem's room. Sheik appears next to him in a small puff of smoke, having also been alarmed by the crash. The two find themselves at Salem's door, Zelda passed out on the floor mirroring the scene from earlier in the day. The only difference now was that their leader stood before them, appearing as a flurry of smoke over her still resting form.

"I believe a meeting is in order, gather everyone around."
