The school year had just come to an end the Friday before. Everyone was thrilled purgatory, er, school was done with for three months aka summer time. No more having to wake up early and go to school long hours until three. No more sitting through embarrassing sex ed classes with Mr. Remington or hard math tests overseen by horrible grumpy Mrs. Maxwell. However, some will still be seeing the principal since he is a favorite of almost every parent.

Archie sent out a letter to all the kids were at his school a week before the date of the party. This would all go down at his parents house on the lake, with their permission of course, for a small party. He had been planned this a month before school had ended, and his parents couldn't have been happier. They would finally be noted as awesome parents that everybody wished they had.

Everyone was excited that someone was throwing a party, which no one in this small town did unless it was a birthday, graduation, wedding party or the occasional block party with the Mr. and Mrs. Farnsworth, the two sweet happy married couple. Parents around town really didn't do these big get togethers, it just wasn't traditional for this town. However some did end up breaking tradition for the sake of if the 20th century.

Now that it is the day of the party, people start arriving early evening before the sun was to go down.
The fire pit was lit, food and drinks were in the fridge ready to be set out when the night goes on.
People in swimsuits under their clothes, ready to take a swim in the warm late.

No one knew what would hold when the night was still so very young and the stars were just coming to come out. The moon was low in the sky, reflecting on the dark blue lake, making it seem like something out of a fantasy movie. Everything seems so perfect, like nothing could pop this little bubble they were all in. For all everyone knew, this would be your typical lake party night to being in the start of an amazing summer.

This was no doubt going to be a night that everyone would remember for as long as they lived. Whether good or bad, what this night held was all a mystery to everyone. That made things a little more exciting.
