Chapter 23
~Sorry guys. Writers block has been literall hell and the WiFi at my home has been wonky. But here's a chapter.~
Third person*
After finding the dagger, the trio had to summon Adrian again to find out how in the world they were going to even find the enchantress. It didn't take long for him to arrive. Percy simply called out his name a few times and he appeared before them all.
"Did you find it?" He questioned without a greeting.
"Yea, Leo found it in the staircase. So now what?" Percy inquired.
"Now we have to find the enchantress."
"No shit sherlock." Leo mumbled.
Adrian sent him a sharp look and continued. "The dagger will lead you to her. The person holding it only has to ask where she is. It will create a bond and tell your heart where to go. It will glow brighter and brighter as you near her." He explained carefully. "If anyone takes the dagger from whoever is holding it, the bond will be broken and you won't be able to get it back. So you all only have three chances at this. Don't screw it up."
Then he vanished.
"So who's going to bond with this thing first?" Leo asked as he twirled the blade between his fingers.
Percy opened his mouth to claim it, but Annabeth stepped up first. "Let me. I know you want to Percy, but I don't think you can handle it emotionally. Is this thing bonds with you, we need someone who has their mind in the right place too and no offense, but I don't think you're ready just yet."
Percy hesitated and loomed like he was going to argue with her, but he shut his mouth again and gave a nod. "You're right."
Leo clapped his hands together. "Alrighty then! Let's get this show on the road. Annabeth, begin the ritual."
Annabeth rolled her eyes and then concentrated on the blade. "Where can I find the enchantress?"
Nothing happened.
A silent awkwardness roamed around the room. Annabeth looked at the blade with a confused look. She flipped it a few times to see if anything had changed, but there was nothing. "What no-"
She was cut of by an ear piercing sound. Like an angel was screaming. The blade glowed so bright they had to look away. The room became white and then it all suddenly stopped. Leo had fallen on his back and had his hands covering his ears while Percy was crouched over also covering his ears. Annabeth held the dagger with both hands. Her arms held as far away from her as possible and her head turned to block the light from her eyes that were closed. She opened her eyes and very cautiously looked at it more closely "I can feel it."
"Feel it how?" Percy asked.
"I don't know how to explain it. I can almost hear like a voice or something. It's telling me where she is. Or where to go at least."
"Ok, then lead the way."

Annabeth's pov*
-
I heard faint whispered voices in my head. They were soft and calming. That all sounded different. Some spoke over the rest and told me where to go or what to do. I listened carefully and let them tell me where we needed to go next.
'Go left.' 'No. Right.' 'It's left.' 'Listen to me.' Two of the voices began arguing. "Make a decision." I spoke aloud.
Percy and Leo gave me quizzical looks.
"The voices. Two of them are arguing on which path to take."
We had come to a part on a dirt road. Two different paths leading to gods knows where. The right path led down a road that had fields of nothing but grass on either side of it. The left path was in a wooded area. The leaves of red, yellow, and green made the path look like a fairytale which was slightly suspicious.
'It's left.' Two of the voiced finally agreed.
I didn't question or argue. I turned that way and led the boys. "When will we know we're there?" I asked.
'You'll feel it.'
I trusted the voice and continued down the path. There was too much whispering in my head to make our what any of them were saying. They got louder gradually. I ignored it for awhile and tried to focus on one voice. It was getting impossible. It sounded like over a hundred people having hushed arguments in my head all at once. It got louder and louder and louder. I stopped walking and shut my eyes. The voices stopped. I opened my eyes again and a bone chilling shriek rang in my brain. I screamed with itand dropped the knife. I fell to my knees with it. The scream came to an agonizingly slow stop. My ears were ringing. I lifted myself head up and saw Percy kneeling in front of me saying something. He was too muffled. He kept asking something, but I couldn't hear enough. "I can't hear." I told him. "Have Leo use the dagger. We were almost there. I could feel it." Some of my hearing came back.
"Ok." He was talking louder than normal for me.
Leo picked up the knife and immediately started looking around frantically. "Holy mOTHER OF PENGUINS. How do you put up with these voices? It's like a family of talking roaches just crawled into my head."
"Ask them where to go." I'm pretty sure I was shouting.
He said something and pointed to the trees. "This way."

Leo's pov*
-
I led Percy and Annabeth through the woods. Hopefully to grandma's house.
'The tree up ahead. Go to it.'
I looked around. "I'm in a forest. Be a bit more specific please."
'It will be the only bare tree.'
I looked around and spotted an almost dead looking tree a few feet away. I walked up to it. "So... now what?"
'Look.'
I walked around the tree and observed it. Annabeth and Percy sat on the sidelines watching me look like an idiot. I found nothing out of the ordinary, so I went around again and ran my fingers over it. I was halfway around when I felt a significant dip in the bark. It didn't feel natural. I walked back to it and saw a very well hidden carving in the tree that was shaped like the dagger perfectly. I ushered Percy over and put the dagger into the tree. It glowed lightly and a ripping noise behind us made us turn around. We saw an invisible cloak ripping away and revealing a house in the far distance.
Percy stared at it intensely. "That's it."
