Chapter 17
~Good Lord you guys just eat these chapters up. :D I'm not complaining tho. Thanks for reading and here's another chapter.~
(Y/n)'s pov*
"Dad?"
"I knew you'd get it!" He said excitedly.
"How are you even here?"
"I'm not actually here. You technically aren't even here."
What the hell is he talking about? "What the hell are you talking about?"
"You're trapped in your worst fear inside your mind." He explained.
"Ok that makes more sense now. So how did I get stuck in my own mind?" If he's here I'm getting as much information as I can on what's happening.
"I'm dont have much time" of course not "So I'll tell you the short version of all this. There's an enchantress out for revenge so she's using your body to do so."
"Ok, and how do I get out of this?"
"I'm not entirely sure."
Then what the heck was the point of you even coming here?! "You don't know of any way?"
"You could try thinking of something that you want to say to the enchantress and maybe you can speak to her through your mind since both of you share the same mind. You might be able to fight her and regain control of your body."
"I guess it's worth a try."
"Alrighty. I have to go. I wasn't supposed to interfere with anything, so don't mention any of this."
He started to disappear. "Wait!" You yelled.
He came back into form and you ran up and hugged him. "Thank you... dad."
He hesitated, but wrapped his arms around you. "No problem."
You let go and stepped back, watching him slowly disintegrate away. You gave a small wave just before he disappeared. After he left, you sat down. I should try thinking first. Maybe I can negotiate something with her. 'Hello?' I thought. I waited for some form of reply. Would I hear a voice too or would something appear in this fake world? I waited at least ten minutes and tried again. 'Hello?'
This time I heard someone in my head. A cold voice. It sounded like they haven't spoken in years. 'What?' She sounded angry.
'Is this the enchantress?' I thought again.
'Yes. And I assume you're that pesky demigod.' She said with a sharp voice.
'Why did you take control of me? What are you hoping to gain from doing this?'
'To rid of you all. I'm using your body to rid of you all. Then after I'm done, I'll find another body and make you watch me kill your sweet little family.' Her voice got colder and dark.
The clouds above you got darker and thicker. The wind picked up and the sun slowly started to disappear. 'Why?'
'Because you demigods were the reason I was locked away for years. I want to rule a world without demigods.'
'Can't you just talk to us? We've changed from what we were years ago. Maybe we can arrange for you to-'
'NO!' She interrupted. 'I wont be fooled by your promises and fake care. All you seek is too kill me. I won't let you!'
'That's not true. I do care and I want to help you.'
You felt some kind of connection break and her voice stop. The clouds got darker and rain drops stared falling. The weather must be her emotions. She's upset with me for trying to reach her. That might not be a good idea to upset her. If she's with everyone else, she could kill them.
"Well since talking didn't work, I'll have to try fighting." You said to yourself.
You tried imagining yourself regaining control of your body. Your soul flowing back to its rightful place in your mind. You closed your eyes and imagined your life and all the people in your life. You reopened your eyes and found a new scenery. It was dark and smelled horrible. You turned to find a small candle lit in the center of the room and a body laying by it. Was it dead?
You cautiously walked to the person. "Hello?"
As you got closer the person rolled over, their face come into view from the candle light. "Nico?"
Nico's pov*
I laid on the floor by the candle for who knows how long. After some time i heard the door above me open. She came back. The enchantress floated down and landed by me. I didn't bother moving over. I just pretended to be asleep. "Wake up you brat." She said and kicked me slightly.
I groaned and sat up. She looked around confused and held up her hand. "Stay there. I'll deal with you next."
She walked away from me a bit and I heard her talking, but to who? I laid back down and tried to think of what to do next. I could still hear her talking behind me. I was afraid to face her. I hated seeing (y/n)'s face cold and cruel looking. It was wrong. She stopped talking and slowly walked back to me.
"Nico?" She sounded sweet.
She sounded like the sweet (y/n) that i grew to love. I rolled over and faced her. The looked on her face showed worry and fear. She walked faster after seeing my face. I sat up and she sat in front of me on her knees. "What are you doing?" I asked.
"What do you think I'm doing? I'm making sure you're alright."
I looked at her confused. "Oh, right. I retook control of my body, but not for long. I can feel the enchantress fighting again. She's not giving up so easily. I don't know how much longer I have."
"I missed you." I said quietly.
"I missed you too, but we're both going to have to last a little bit longer. I don't think I can get rid of her completely now. I don't have the energy for that yet."
"What's it like? In your mind I mean. She said you were trapped in your mind."
She looked in thought for a moment. "She found my worst fear and made it a reality. I'm living in a world without anyone in it."
"I'm sorry."
"Nico, you don't have anything to be sorry for and don't you dare blame all of this on yourself. None of this is your fault. If I come back and find out that you've been blaming yourself, I am going to beat the blame out of you." She pointed her finger at me and giggled lightly. She had tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
I brought my hand up to her cheeks and wiped the tears with my thumbs. "I'm sorry. I'm crying over something stupid."
"No, it's not stupid. If you need to cry then cry."
She wrapped me in a hug and buried her face in my neck. I brought my hand up to her head and ran my hand through her hair. It seemed to calm her a bit. She removed herself from my grasp and started to stand up. "I can feel her coming back. I have to go. I'll see you soon though." She said.
"I love you."
"I love you too." A single tear fell from her eye and I saw her expression go blank. Her eyes turned cold again. She looked at me with hatred in her glare. "What did she tell you?" She asked in a dark voice.
"Just that she doesn't like you."
"Ok. I'm going to ask you one more time. What. Did. She. Tell. You?" With every word she took one step closer.
"I'm. Not. Telling. You."
She grabbed my hair and forced me to the ground. "Yes you will!" She yelled.
(Y/n)'s pov*
After losing control of myself, I could still see Nico. I could still see everything. I tried to move my hand, but I couldn't. I tried speaking, but again I couldn't. Then I moved forward. I could hear myself saying something, but I wasn't doing it. I could only see, but I couldn't do anything. I watched her throw Nico to the ground. Anger boiled through me.
I tried with all I had to make her stop. I managed to. I made her stop walking to him. I watched Nico get up and give her a punch. Another blow to the head made us black out. The scenery around me started changing to a bookstore. The bookstore that Annabeth and I went to together. I turned and saw a girl by one of the shelves. She had dark brown hair and stunning silver eyes. She wore a coat with a hood and a gorgeous black dress.
"Are you the enchantress?"
~Hello everyone! I updated faster than I thought I would this time. Thank you to everyone who has been patient enough to wait for my updates. When I first started this story I told myself that I would update at least once a week. We all know how that turned out.
